Im worried about the one who had the hots for their mum at 7. I feel like (as a person studying education and development of children) at that age it isnt normal to be having those thoughts. Leads me to think maybe their mother or someone else, probably another family member, molested them when they was too small to remember. I hope theyre okay, and maybe look into therapy to see if potentially thats a thing that happened because developmentally a child that young shouldnt be having sexual thoughts (at least like how described)

The same thing happened to me, I would have intrusive thoughts about kissing my brother. Little did I know until much later I experienced sexual trauma. Of course those feelings weren’t true attraction, I’m not into incest at all, but you’re right.

Everyone gets intrusive thoughts, but what makes them intrusive is the fact you'll never act on them, due to people finding these thoughts shocking and unacceptable. The fact they went through with the literal murder of their own grandma, means these weren't intrusive thoughts and they should get serious help.
Edit: Because I am too tired of replying to comments who keep saying I'm forgetting mental illness, no I am not. I wrote this comment on the fact the original story wrote about murdering their grandmother because of intrusive thoughts not any other factors (like abuse or trauma or another thing) which is a problematic because people who actually have intrusive thoughts go through a lot of mental strain and distress and not every person who have intrusive thoughts will go murder someone. People who act on intrusive thoughts aren't acting on them to harm someone (usually), but are doing it out of "compulsion" out of their control. This is different from someone just saying they murdered someone because the thought just popped into their brain and they didn't even question it (when most if not all people who have intrusive thoughts do question the thought which is one of the factors that bring them stress). Also how many times do I have to repeat this, if you have access to a mental health professional and you have intrusive thoughts, just because you won't act on them, still seek that help to control those thoughts better.

I think Alyx is being deeply effected by these secrets.
The repeated exposure to all those traumatic & sexually devious secrets ... I’m sure it has to rub off on her in some way
She is, she mentioned on the Dating Straight podcast that she talks about some of these secrets with her therapist. She also hired someone to filter out some of the emails so she doesn't have to read the worst of the worst anymore.

It annoys me that the grandma murder confession person said intrusive thoughts. It's not intrusive thoughts if you act on them, I'm sorry but it's just not. As someone with intrusive thoughts, I would sooner kill myself than act on any of them. I almost did kill myself bc of them back in 2018. I had a plan and everything but didn't do it because I had promised the guitarist of my favourite band that I wouldn't. Intrusive thoughts are not things that you want to do. They're things that you would never in a million years do and calling that intrusive thoughts just rubs me the wrong way because it stigmatises OCD even further. INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS ARE NOT THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO DO. THEY ARE THINGS THAT DISGUST YOU AND CAUSE ANXIETY, THEY ARE THINGS THAT YOU HATE WITH A BURNING PASSION AND WOULD NEVER, EVER DO. THIS HAS BEEN A PSA. 😅

Alyx, plz plz plz never end this series or at least keep it for awhile I haven’t looked forward to UA-camrs videos since I was a kid and I literally shit myself when I see a new one from you your amazing
I feel horrible for Alyx, I think this series has gone too far. I know what it’s like to be stuck on something because of the gratification it gives you: the reality is that these videos are the ones that brings Alyx the most views and viewer engagement, but it feels wrong. I just don’t feel it in her anymore. Of course, they’re funny, hilarious sometimes but they’re also desensitizing and obscene, and it’s seemingly all for nothing. I’m almost positive that 80% of these secrets are made up just due to how insane it becomes. It just feels so horrible, but we’re all stuck in this endless loop of wanting to be entertained and to laugh, and Alyx just wants to entertain her fans and do what gets her the most recognition, because it’s obviously causing her some mental distress and I’m sure the only reason she continues is for the recognition. 😳😳😳
