The last time I was this early FM21 was too easy
Defence is definitely the issue and it's probably at Goalkeeper. You might want to check his scouting report and see if he has any mental issues or just general teamwork problems. Saunders just might not marshal the defence very well or might not feel like playing as part of the system (doubt that's the issue though because he's playing as a Goalkeeper (Defend))

If there is one thing SI needs to do to make FM22 a better game than FM21, they have got to fix defenders. Conceding on a goal in the area because all of your defenders stand around with their thumbs up their bums while there is a loose ball is the second most frustrating thing in this game. The only thing more frustrating is your goalkeeper distributing the ball into the opponents face and conceding off of the rebound.
Defending isn't perfect in FM21, but the thing you're talking about isn't really a problem. Defenders panic in real football, confusion in the box happens in real football.

FM deliberately puts “stupid goalkeeper tricks” in the game. The programmers think it’s funny.

Worth noting that since this in the US it's very possible Goncalves would be pronounced "Gon-cal-ves" not "Gon-sal-ves". Many Americans who are 3rd or 4th generation or further removed from their immigrant ancestors pronounce their last name in an American way as opposed to the way it would be pronounced in the country of origin. Pulisic is not pronounced in the Croatian manner by himself and his family, for instance.
Kev, with your colour blindness how did you know they were green seats? Honestly don’t understand.
Colour blindness doesn't mean that he can't see colours but it means he can't distinguish between some shades of red and green.
Thanks, I for no reason assumed Kev was red green colour blind which meant he couldn’t distinguish between the two at all.

I think I saw somewhere in previous episodes that Saunders has a lot lower handling rating then the russian keeper you had last year, thats why he lets in goals like that
Richmond is my hometown team (assuming this is the Youth team for the main side) so I can't lie and say I wasn't rooting for them a bit
