I've never seen it done this way (I'm also a total noob, so...context and all that) - makes perfect sense why you'd want to keep your sweat off the canopy. I dig it! Thank you for sharing.
I have just a question. Would be more logical to push excessive air from the top down to the slider? Also I bought seventeen years ago PD seven cell Spectre and I got also with it a VHS video and the instructor is showing an "S" fold canopy from again from the top toward slider. When did you change it?
Its a shame you stopped before the S-folds. I know there are a ton of videos out there on packing, but its always nice to see the full progression with each different style. For instance here, you spent all that time maintaining control of the top skin and talked about where to place your hands and how to switch, but that all goes out the window on the S-folds if you dont keep doing it there as well.
I don't know, man. This canopy looks like half the air is already out as it's lying on the floor before you even start. Mine never looks close to that. On the very top there will be multiple balloon-sized bubbles, and I also can't really even reach the top end of the canopy without lying down on it. It seems at least twice as long as what yours looks like. It's a brand new spectre 230. I have to say that none of the packing videos ever really look close to what my canopy looks like when I lay it down.
