    For the sharpness: The reason that the VisionOS system / native apps look sharper is because they have bigger fonts and the UI rendering is optimized for Vision Pro. For resolutions Vision Pro has fewer resolution than 5k/6k displays. It’s a hardware limitation

    I still can't believe that none of these reviews mention the reflections in the lenses when there is any sort of dark environment. The times I've seen it mentioned it's like it's not that noticeable or a small thing, but with mine, it's very noticeable. Is it possible some of these units are worse than others with the reflections, or are reviewers just ignoring this issue for some reason?

    Can the single monitor available on Vision Pro display all the available desktops. I currently use a MacBook Pro plus three monitors plus 3 or 4 desktops on each. Each having a different app. Since most apps are available on iPad that aspect is simple but can I have the Mac only apps open on separate desktops in Vision Pro or is Vision Pro also limited to a single desktop on a single monitor?

    • @techinrl9869
      @techinrl9869 7 місяців тому

      No, it picks whatever is selected as the main monitor. You can bump up the resolution to a 4K display if the original isn’t (e.g. MBP display is closer to 3K) by going to the Mac’s Display Settings. I suspect the reason is bandwidth. People have reported latency between a bluetooth keyboard and the Mac, so I think Apple is restricting the feature to one monitor for now until they can figure something out. It’s reported they have two monitors working in the lab, but no word on performance. Other headsets can do two or three displays, but for the most part, they have very low resolution with a combined fewer pixels than a single 4K display, such as the XReal glasses Max mentioned. I have one of those from when they called themselves NReal, and the resolution is really bad.

    • @Blztrls

    I noticed an oddity with regards to the Lightning versus USB-C AirPods Pro 2. When I have my MBP’s screen up on my Vision Pro, I cannot connect my USB-C APP2 to my Mac to play its audio, while the Lightning version connected to the Mac quite easily. I suspect it has to do with that unknown band on the APP2 USB-C that enables lossless audio that latches on to the Vision Pro and won’t let go. The USB-C version doesn’t even appear half the time in the list of available sound sources on the MBP and if it does, I click on it, it spins for a while, and may end up disappearing from the list.
    Oh, and Max, don’t forget to enable travel mode before your plane starts to leave the gate or else your Vision Pro won’t be very useful. Apple should put a button combo to enable travel mode without needing to go to Control Center because it may fly away from you the second the plane starts to move.

    Love your videos Max, but one thing that concerns me with all these UA-cam videos in the lack of content around eye safety and just how your eye's respond once the headset is taken off after a while in the headset and you return to the real world, and if over time all will suffer the same problem that optometrist are concerned about - and that is the number of people that they see with regards to shortsightness in regards to phones, iPad etc. ( I include myself in this, by the way).
    Remember this is not a TV in which you sit a recommended distance from in relation to the size of the TV, you literally have 2 4k screens sitting inches away from each eyeball, that can't be good in the long run, anyway sounds like a revolutionary product and I'm glad you like it, though I have to say not for me, not because of what I have mentioned above,
    but I just would not have the workflow to justify the expense (I am from Australia, and the Vision Pro will retail around $5,300 Dollars by the time it is released in Australia, when that is is anyone's guess.) I Don't want to sound like a wet blanket, but I just wish UA-camrs when reviewing gadget like this inform people of the Health risk associated with these product.
    Anyway Max, good review as always, keep up to good work, and this is just my opinion anyway. God Bless David

      I'm also curious about the long-term effect for the eyes with AVP. I mean many hours a day and using it for years. Same thing about all the other similar headsets of course.
      Why did Apple and Tim Cook never talk about that on the WWDC keynote?
      Just look at iPod many years ago and probably the same thing on iPhone: there's a limitation for volume to protect your ears. That's very important when you have speakers in your ears. And now with displays maybe 1-2 cm in front of your eyes, and your eyes getting exposed for that light and I don't know how many nits. But is that really healthy for the eyes in the long run?

    Like I say before, they have to use MacOS on the Vision not iPadOS. And yes it’s bandwidth limited, for 4k@120hz RGB 4:4:4 u will need about 30gbit/s over hdmi 2.1. So with that WiFi 6 u can get about realistic 1gbit/s. Multiple streams from your Mac are unreal. The best way is to connect directly. But with that costs I can buy 5x 42 inch 4k Oled Screens. So it is not worth it.

    I’m disappointed at the quality of the display when used with the MacBook Pro. It definitely is not as sharp as my 42 inch LG display and I don’t prefer the Vision Pro display.
