I said that I wanted to give you this insight on kpop and korean "scene", so here you go. *ALSO* !! I don't want to sound rude or anything >< this are things that I noticed over the years since I first joined the fandom in 2014 u.u K-pop is an _industry_ , not a genre or a scene (when you think of a scene, you think of punk or hip hop, which they are a culture, rather than a massification - generally). It's often used as an umbrella term to describe the whole korean popular music (rock, r&b, hip hop and pop) but at the same time westeners think of kpop as merely idol music (Blackpink are idols) and idol groups usually mix many genre within a song, it's not just teen pop or bubblegum pop. A best way to describe the whole thing is that the music genre are from USA and the idol industry was born in firstly in Japan and the formula also spread. Japanese industry is different from the Korean one, but both are equally interesting imo. Japanese content are really hard to find on UA-cam, it's not like Japanese Animation that are heavily promoted in the West since the 70s (yes, Italy was one of the first few country to welcome Japanese Animation into their broadcasting!). On the other side we have Korea and Korean agencies uses the "Motown formula" (Motown is still a label btw, but their golden era was in the 60s, with artists like The Supremes, the Jackson 5, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and many others). This formula consited on being, as Motown Wikipedia page says, "fastidiously groomed [grooming as in make up and combing hair], dressed and choreographed for live performances". Motown Records trained their artists very very young and unexperienced in dance, acting, vocals, they way they should talk, how to behave on national TV and overall being visually appealing. A group I would personally *highly* suggest would be Stray Kids - an 8 member group which makes their own music, as 3 of the members within the group form "3RACHA" a producing/song writing unit. Although all of the members pitch in regardless. They have the most unique sounding music, hard choreography and amazing concepts, in my personal opinion :)
Their most recent comeback I would recommend would be - Thunderous.

Another group suggestion would be a 7 member group called DreamCatcher, which has amazing, heavily rock induced title tracks and extremely diverse songs in general. They usually run with a dark concept.

Some info about the artists:
Stray Kids are a 8-member boygroup from JYP Entertainment, that debuted in 2018. I think you will like their music, it could be that you won't like this song, but I am pretty sure that they have other songs that you will like.
Blackpink is a 4-member girlgroup from YG Entertainment. Blackpink is currently the biggest girlgroup in the world.
Pretty Savage is a song with a lot of rap in it. I suggest you check out one of the live stages, this song is really cool when performed live!
SHINee is a 5-member boygroup from SM Entertainment, that debuted in 2008. If you watch the music video of the song that I recommended to you, View, you will see 5 members, but if you are going to react to one of their newest songs, you will probably notice that someone is missing. Jonghyun, one of the members, lost his battle with depression on the 18th of December 2017.
If you don't want to react to them because of that, I completely understand. Your safety is way more important than UA-cam. I just hope that you won't just think about what happened if you do react to them. Jonghyun was an amazing artist and person, please remember him like that.
IU is a solo artist that debuted in 2008. She is one of the biggest and most respected artists in Korea.
Suga is a member of BTS. He also does stuff outside the group, just like most of the members.
Bobby is part of the boygroup iKon, who are from the same company as Blackpink, YG Entertainment.
Bobby won Show Me The Money, a very famous Korean tv-show for rappers. He is the only kpop rapper to ever win the show. He made his solo debut in 2016. Also, he just announced that he is going to get married and that he is going to be a father this month! I am really happy for him!
B.I was the leader of iKon, but he left the group due to a scandal. He is currently a solo artist.
Epik High is a trio that debuted in 2003. They were once artists under YG Entertainment, but left. They are absolute legends.
CL was the leader of girlgroup 2NE1, but the group sadly disbanded in 2016 :( 2NE1 was also under YG Entertainment, but all the members left.
Zico was/is the leader of boygroup Block B. I am not sure if they disbanded or not, they haven't done anything since 2018.
Heize and Dean are both soloists. I don't know a lot about them. I just enjoy their music.
If there is any artist you like, I suggest you watch a guide. These video's are made by fans and tell you a lot about the artist/group. Also, don't forget to turn on the closed captions! Some music videos dont have them, but you can always look up the lyrics if you want to know what they are singing about!

Out of all the asian countries, I think South Korea has the strongest and most talented rap/hip hop culture. I mean, just take a look at this Netflix Korea promo video, they decided have korean hip hop dancers dance to a korean rap song:

Also, Lisa is from Thailand actually, so that's why in her Lalisa song she has a bar that says "from Thailand to Korea, now we here, went for the throat".
English is her 2nd language and Korean is her 3rd. She had to learn Korean from scratch after she was picked from an audition to join the company in Korea when she was a young teenager.
She was trained for 5+ years in dancing, singing and rapping with the other Blackpink girls before their first song came out. But she's been dancing since she was like 4 years old. Her specialty is rapping and hip hop dancing. She's considered one of the best female dancers in kpop industry.
She has her own channel called Lilifilm, where she posts her own dance videos, a lot of people react to those. Her videos are titled Dance Performance and there is #1-#4. And one called Lilifilm The Movie. Her videos showcase different styles of dance, but there's a lot of hip hop in there.
