this game feels like an old platformer game that you would find on those flash game sites and i mean this in the best way possible
Thank you! I grew up playing Flash games since they were at peak popularity then. I played all of the Huang twins' video games, and this game was inspired by Flash game BFDIA 5b!

This is like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Mario Maker combined, but with BFDI! Great game!
Yeah! Those were definitely two of our greatest influences, I love them both so it's great to see their elements in an OSC game!

actually the 3rd level is for pin and the 4th level is for coiny (you can understand the beggening photos aswell)
There isn't an intended character for any level, I just went in order.

definitely one of the better mario maker clones out there
you know, the way this game presents itself reminds me of another platformer game featuring 4 characters! It's called Vibrant Ventures and it's a really colorful pixel platformer by a small indie team that started from a Roblox game into it's own beta in Steam! What reminds me of it is how you can swap between the 4 characters which all have different moves and passive abilities! Not trying to downplay btw! I think both games are wonderful and are incredibly charming and promising 💖💖

Everytime I make a level and try to publish it, it says 'Failed: Invalid characters in Title/Description'. I made sure that the level was verified and I don't think theres any strange characters in my title. The title just simply says 'dirt run' and the description is 'this is cool'. Is there anyway to fix this? Also my levels don't save everytime time I open the game back up.

I'm not sure about the invalid characters, I'll report the bug. There is a swear filter but I don't see any there.
For story mode not saving bug, don't open the game in a shortcut, open it from the folder.

@@MeesterTweester Theres also a bug, I'm not sure if its really a bug or a feature but if you press 'enter' while playing online level you can just publish the exact same level

One question about the game: do you have to be a specific character to take out the little bad guys.
Btw this is amazing and seeing a bfdi game after BFDIA 5b that’s not even made by Cary and Micheal, and it have’s cutscenes, character voices, charming music, everything is amazing about this game.

Feels like there might be too many cakes - if a difficulty setting is added that changed enemy/cake layout this could definitely be the 'easy' versions of the levels (and if not I guess we just don't die on accident)
It's because this is going to be only World 1 of several worlds in the full game, which will have less cakes. We also wanted the game to be beatable for most players, as quitting due to difficulty was one of BFDIA 5b's biggest drawbacks, so lower difficulty was often requested.

Guys I found a secret in the game
If your playing a level
And if your playing any character
And if you press
1 button
It actually changes your character to fiery
If you press the 2 button
It changes your character to leafy
If you press the 3 button
It changes your character to coins
And finally
If you press the 4 button
It of course changes the character to pin
Try it out

It actually works in game
Yes! It was originally just going to be a debug shortcut, but it was so useful we decided to keep it!

How do you do this
I tried it a couple times and it’s just really tough
@@EpikMickeyMouse You have to keep holding either Up or Down as you bounce off the Shellmet, then double jump in the air up to it. The high bounce is explained near the start of the tutorial, with the two springs. (Also, Barfy is going to be changing all of the Win Tokens in the level today.)

Why is the first win token in the last level so hard? Is it frame perfect?
Keep holding Up or Down as you bounce off the Shellmet to high bounce, it's explained at near the start of the tutorial at the springs. (Also Barfy is changing the level's Win Tokens today)

Michael reprised his roles for his characters, but Cary was too busy to voice Pin so Orange Pen voices her temporary lines. Cary does voice the intro's narrator and some reused Pin lines though!

Edit: last comment i am sad I don't have a window tablet (I was scrolling and saw the conversation by the way) and I got my computer 2021 so. It is old and my dad will not let me download it :(
@@alehernandez2090 We still don't know if we can do mobile. Leafy/Pin have different HP for balancing purposes: Leafy naturally avoids more damage because of her jumping abilities, and Pin is the slowest runner and the shortest jumper so she needs another upside.
