I love old videos like this. It reminds me how different i see things, how stupid and shallow I was. For example, I never took notice how beautiful Mel B was just because she was black and that she was called scary spice. Looking at this now makes me realize how I missed a lot of good things in my youth because i was so narrow minded. And one more thing, Mel B you are so beautiful.
I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but I grew up in a very multicultural city (and society) and as a child, I don't actually remember thinking of Mel B of being anything other than British, and one of the Spice Girls. My child brain didn't really register the fact that she was black, or that it was something I should care about. I do remember thinking they were all beautiful, and I loved the "girl power!" message.
When they started I was 8 and I thought Mel B is the mist beautiful I actually didnt know she is part black I thought she is just tan...and now I see I always had good taste haha
She called them spice not Spice Girls she had no idea how massive the girls would become- the highest selling girl band of all time- Spice Girls 680million records sold in 2nd Destiny’s Child 490million records- Edit in 2023 they are currently the 3rd highest selling girl band in the world in 2.5 months they’ve been downloaded 1.2 million times!!
Heyyyy, any details on Sally The Local Girl's after-life? 'Cause she seems to familiarize herself with the studio fairly, amazingly quick. Yet she fits it surprisingly naturally.
There's another version of this exact same video, that's been on UA-cam for quite a while now it's just much shorter and it says it's from May 1996, that's when this episode was aired originally. But when you look closely around 02:15 there's the date 13/04/1996 but it could also be 18/04/1996 I'm not sure but it's definetely April 1996.
@@MatgoStyles I remember them being called "Spice" even when their Wannabe video was launched. I am pretty sure the TOTP mag journalist that gave them the monikers Baby, Scary, Ginger, Posh and Sporty was also the first to refer to them as "The Spice Girls"
I bet sally must be so proud to be the first ever interviewer of the spice girls!
how Geri cuddles Emma, she loved her like a little sister

What do you mean you never noticed how beautiful she was cause she was black?
She is flippin scary though man. Watch her on the big fat quiz of the year a couple of years back - terrible attitude - nearly killed the show
Well, she did win a pageant years ago.
This episode aired a month and a half before Wannabe was released.
Back in the day when everyone was natural and normal
Natural? They were clearly told what to say in that scripted interview
@@JG-nx3jg I assume they mean natrual looking
The Girls recorded this song in about Sept 1995... 2 months after their Virgin Records signing...it took them about 6 months to record their first LP

I think John Humphreys started out on Key103 doing weather reports before he went onto become a serious political journalist on BBC radio 4.
Nothing like 90s
When was this????????????
1996
Yeah sorry it is April 1996
looks more like a VCR appearance..
but anyway it would of been nice to cut that last clip from that one show.
This was a bit weird. like when you wake up and everything feels wrong lol
That presenter and the DJs are so creepy
Now a days if that grown man kissed a kid like that people would freak out #metoo
Victória NEVER singing nothing
As if I didn't hate that programme enough already.
1995
1996, actually
"new all-girl band *"Spice"* lmao." #Awkward
That was their name at the time. The "Girls" was added, as people kept referring to them as the Spice girls.
@@MatgoStyles Yes. Also there was already an act in America called Spice.
@@ellenekanem it was an MC called Spice 1

it looks more 1996 to me
