      @@frontrider3240 Agreed. However simple, these machines are _at least_ insect level in terms of self-awareness and ability to communicate effectively.
      Looking at them like they're mere tools is inevitably going to result in any number of sci-fi doomsday scenarios... But all of that could be avoided by treating them with a bare minimum of basic dignity from the start.

The only reason people automate reference collection and set up weights and biases that shape the machine learning algorithms that AIs are trained with is because they A. need a huuuge threshold of data to get ANY coherence and B. because as you said, the alternatives are slow.
      But in a way, if an AI is trained through every moment instead of being given huge batches of data to crunch through and self-discriminate with, there's less likelihood that there's undesirable data that creates incoherence, especially if the way in which the AI is manually assimilating new info is by an actual person who, well, is likely coherent to enough of a human level themselves.

      Translation: Yapping only dilutes the message.
      In this whole clip, Vedal learned 3 things.
      Set rules.
      Listen to yer kids.
      Don't yell.
      That's it. In nearly 12 minutes. And he had to solve for the answer half the time.
      I can have conversations with a gorilla at the zoo using *zero* words. It's just gestures and facial expressions. He plops down on the other side of the glass, leans back, and probably would have a beer if he could. Then we point at people, and non-verbally roast them, and laugh.
      I point to the zookeeper and make a 🤢 face and he 🤦‍♂️and smiles.
      That's efficient communication.
      This book added so much extra nonsense padding, that you could barely comprehend what it was saying.

    As someone who worked as a professional educator in the past, Vedal's book gives solid advice. I'm not sure if AIs actually grow up like children, but it would be fun if Vedal tried. Both failing and succeedng would be good content imo

    It may not be AI generated, but there is that book writing scam. It may be one of those ... Where you underpay other people to ghost write a book every couple of weeks and then sell it yourself. Though it apparently tends to not benefit the writer or the person having them write much and is actually just a roundabout scheme to sell useless lessons on how to do the book scheme.

    Even back in the 90's I could never stand the him/her in old school books like this. What's wrong with saying Them or their?
    I feel books like this might not be as helpful for some Autistic kids. I remember feeling like an object being talked at because of this sort of language and treatment.
    For me I would over think stuff and simply end up 2nd guessing everything because of the doubble empathy problem and never understanding basic social norms.
    Also does that book mention to not shame and guilt your kids into doing things as it might just cause resentment? Stuff like that would be super handy for parents to know.
    Pluss phychology books for me come off as being padantic and quite patranizing far too often. At least the shitty ones from like the 90's
    huh the bit after 8:30 feels like something my parents should of learned. From giving your kid structure yet letting them finish tasks regardless of the mess. uh and explaining afterword things like "well done" and or "this is what went wrong"

      Technically because it literally limits the AI creativity and makes the AI dumber. Its something very talked about the difference between uncensored AI's and censored AI's, which is not about the filter but making the AI having limits in how he/she interacts.
