Holy smokes!!! It looks like a full time job just setting up to shoot! I love the "behind the scenes" extras.
Living in a tight space is a great talent.
Making quality wines/meads/beers/etc is a great talent.
Producing these educational and entertaining videos is a great talent.
Putting it all together and still liking each other while keeping your sense of humor.....Priceless.
Thank You
Lol thank you!
Your dedication to setup and teardown is beyond commendable. Having done photography and videography I knew your lighting setup looked controlled and professional, what I didn't realize is that you covered all external light sources to have control over all of the lighting. Add on top of that all the brewing setup and you've got yourself a very busy day that most people couldn't be bothered to do either the lighting or brewing setup more than once a month, and you do it so often! Amazing!
Thanks for the appreciation! We do cover all light sources and the blankets are for better audio.
This is going to be everyone's favorite video of yours.
Lol... hope not actually!
😮 Wow, Respect! That is a lot of work! I have always pictured that room much much bigger.
Yeah... me too 😞
Oh my god! I'm stunned! This is overwhelming considering what I perceived to be watching. I never thought for one second that so much effort goes into this beforehand. Well, at least now I know why there is always a captivating layer of your shows besides you guys of course! It's recorded extremely well. The both of you are just fantastic to watch, every single time. And now it makes sense, professional photographers just offered a glimpse of their shenanigan's ;-)
Well thank you!
A+ usage of every single possible storage space.
Why thank you!
Wow, you guys really make it look high production on camera! I thought you had essentially a full microbrewery or something behind the scenes. Nope, just a cute house!
On a different note, thank you for being one of the best teaching channels on UA-cam :D I love watching your vids as "cozy content" that is also educational and fun. I just finished my first cider this week, and it's all because of you guys. Hope you guys continue doing what you love for a long time to come =^)
Thanks for that! It's nice to be appreciated.
I will never look at your videos the same. The red bucket of sanitization, the fermentation station, the cats...So cool! Thanks!
Whew.... almost sounded like you didn't like it at first!
@@CitySteadingBrews haha! Made ya look 😁
@@jdchristiansen3082 I look at EVERY comment, lol.
Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes logistics, details, routines and dedication to produce a fun, successful UA-cam channel! 😊😅
Thanks for watching!
Love this. Never imagined it'd be in the kitchen 🤯
Just want to say you two are a godsend. One day I decided to get into mead making and began researching. Your channel is one of the few go-to's now. In my eagerness I started a Habanero pineapple mead but got a pineapple instead of pineapple juice. Now it's one Habanero mead and one pineapple. The Habanero is turning out delicious and it isn't even done fermenting. The pineapple took off like a rocket and is at a 0.994. If this is done fermenting, i might back sweeten with some pineapple juice to compliment the pineapple whole that was used.
Damn, more goes on behind the scenes than I realized, thank you for sharing 👍
Wow, that was amazing! Just goes to show, great content doesn't happen by accident. Lots and lots of hard work. Thanks for doing it.
Thanks for the appreciation!
This reminds me of when I am getting set up for my weekly D&D game, camera, monitors, computer, so that I can stream on discord for those that are not able to attend in person.
2 seconds in during an ad, I already hit the like button because I already know it’s gonna be solid content!
Lol
Love it! Hopefully everyone will appreciate even more all that you do for us with making your videos.
Aww, thanks Kelly!
Great vid! I have an even bigger appreciation for you guys now, what a lot of work to help us out!
I've got two gallons perking away right now, and all because of you two, thank you so much! [Funny, cats and fish here too!]
Well thank you. Glad we could help!
Wow that is a lot of prep!! Thanks for all the knowledge you pass on to us.
Our pleasure!
Well now, that was fascinating. It almost made me dizzy, but it was fascinating. I'll have a glass or two of my favorite homemade wine, THEN I'll watch this again. Thanks for pulling the curtain back .... figuratively and literally !!
Maybe three or four and watch it twice 😉
@@CitySteadingBrews Ahhh yes, reruns, of course!!
I love these "behind the scenes" vids. So much set up work (so many cords)! No wonder you do multiple tasting vids in one day. Also, dang! TRBOS has got to be heavy, I never thought about getting it from the sink to the table!
Yeah... I usually carry it!
I always assumed you were filming in a den or office space. Now that I see this I'm being reminded of all the times you say to us "in your kitchen" but I guess I always assumed that meant you were assuming we all brewed in our kitchens while you had a dedicated space for brewing/filming. This is absolutely so cool to see the amount of effort and thought that goes into your production.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
This was cool . Thank you for showing what your life/production really all about!
Holy cow, I had no idea! I love your videos even more, thanks for all you do!
Derrica, Brian,
My humble apologies for any negative comments on this or that. I had no idea how much work and love yall put into a video. Really enjoyed this video.
Peace Luke T
Thanks... I don't remember any though...
That is a such a tiny place you have there, looks extremely cozy though!
Wow you must cook filming days, doubly so of food channel days, no ceiling fan, blanketed in and studio lights! Dedication to your art and audience.
Yup.
After seeing so much of the one wall it’s crazy seeing the forth one. Also wow, that’s a lot of work to go through each and every time you shoot, like holy cow, but I see why. Y’all weren’t joking about the space you have to work with. When I’m wishing I had better equipment I need to remember this and tell my self, at least all I have to set up is a phone on a tripod and a desk lamp 😆
We started with an ipad and airpods!
That was fantastic! It's really cool to see how you set up and what all goes into your process. I always accepted that it would be a pain when you mentioned a couple times that you didn't want to grab something after you started filming... Now I understand why, lol. Thanks so much for the effort you both put towards amazing content! The recipes you share are phenomenal! But in addition, the thoroughness with which you teach is inspiring! I have a LONG list of your brews I want to make (and a few crossed off) as well as ideas for my own brews using what I've primarily learned from you!
Thank you. We appreciate that.
Wow. And I thought my house was cluttered. 👍😁
Tiny house, lots of stuff. 🤷♂️
@CitySteadingBrews Yeah. I know how that feels. Lived in a tiny apartment for 20 years. Only started brewing since I 'upgraded'.
That was fun.❤
Heh... we downgraded. Used to have a much larger house but got tired of the expense and work that goes with it.
Hahahahaha
Most enjoyable video of the day! 😸
This is just awesome!!
Glad you liked it!
This was cool to see
So that was awesome...
So cool
Thanks for inviting us into studio H.
H?
Home
Mad respect!
Thanks!
Dang I did'nt realize the amount of detail taken to ensure lighting is great, then again I forget you are pro photographers
Yeah... can't help it!
That´s a really cool video, thank you for showing that :D
Glad you liked it!
wow crazy video.. very cool
Glad you liked it!
Wow, a lot of effort! No wonder your videos are so amazing and the wine, mead etc is the piece de resistance. Well done!
Thanks so much!
I'm not sure I could do that for every video, you both have way more drive than I do and have a day job in photography . I have all I can do with heating and air conditioning, I'm exhausted after work nevermind my brain is done which works on union time . Lol
Love the videos and thanks for all the great recipes and informational videos you both put out.
This os our day job...
What a process! No wonder the quality of your videos is so good!
But now that tune is going to stick in my head all day!
Ear worm music!
Would you look at all that production quality! You guys definitely have quite the operation. Keep up the great vids! You guys are the reason I gave mead brewing a go. Now a year and 20 gallons later, it's pretty much my favorite hobby!
Happy to help!
good video cheers
Thanks!
A lot of work!!
Yup.
There's a lot more going on there than I ever expected
Yeah, seems so simple until you peek under the hood!
Nice video and thanks from the netherlands
Thanks for watching!
@@CitySteadingBrews my thanks to you, i learn a lot from you both, my regards Joseph
Wow
Good tunes
Wow didn’t know yall went through so much for us, thanks
Ot's all worth it!
We will never complain about our 10 minute setup ever again. Hopefully you can build your permanent outbuilding studio very soon so you can keep it setup all the time! :)
So damn wholesome...
You make it sound like a bad thing...
As someone who also makes videos in their house I love watching how others do it! Super cool, I'm curious do you record several vids in one sitting or do you have to do this everytime?
We do several in a day. Most times it's a piece of this, a piece of that. Love your channel by the way!
@@CitySteadingBrews Very cool, love your channel as well, you guys are an inspiration!
Wow, that is so much work to set up! How many days a week do you actually have to do that?! Do you do all your segments for all your in progress stuff on the same day? I think I would have quit or dedicated a room in my house to this solely long ago so kudos to doing all that work each time!
We film two days a week. If our house had space, we would have a dedicated room. Since we do this for a living, it's not really that bad, roughly 2 1/2 hours a week to make all our videos for a few channels.
What a lot of work! You make it look so easy, like those Olympic figure skaters!
How many days a week do you shoot video? How long does that set up take? And what about break down?
Just two days a week for filming. Takes 45 mins or so. Breakdown is quicker but there's lots of cleanup too.
Didn’t realize the effort put into every video. Quick question, are the blankets to block out the light or for sound? Or both?
Sound 😀
Can see now who did the most active work getting this ready❤ 😂
In my defense... she had a pov camera. You didn't see me doing the electronics in the other room.
you have a full house! not sure if you knew that?
LOL
thanks for the great vids and fun!
Kinda!
WOW, wouldn't a dedicated studio space be awesome! Like most 1st world Americans I too have alot of stuff. But as you have shown there can be order in the midst of chaos.
Yeah.... dedicated studio... would be nice!
Do you have a recommendation for a 96 oz growler. I made a dandelion wine and I don't like it all that much so I'd like to put just one bottle into storage for a year.
I don't have one that size, sorry.
Loved it c",) 1question before I'll see you in the next one Bought me some limonade consetrate containing "caliumsorbate and natriumbenzoate?" Will these 2 destroy fermentation? Regards from Norway.
Those are preservatives so they could hurt fermentation.
Thank you for your videos, I've learned so much from you two over the last year. I've started pasteurizing my brews before they go completely dry and preserving some of the sugars rather than back sweetening. I've got some pretty good results that way. I start taking gravity readings when it's getting close to around 1.015 and that's generally what I shoot for. I do have a question about that. I've got a capsicumel going right now that should hit that target about the end of next week, and I'm going to be out of town for a few days at that time. It may go a little dryer than I like and I can back sweeten it, no problem. My question is, is there any reason I can't pasteurize it then back sweeten it? The reason I want to know is because I just racked into the jug that I use to pasteurize in and back sweetening in that jug would be difficult because the neck is to small to get anything in to stir it. Sorry for the long winded question and thank you again for all the wisdom that you share with us. 🍻
Adding honey after pasteurizing has a chance of restarting fermentation due to wild yeast. It can just sit as it is til you get back though.
@@CitySteadingBrews Thank you. I'll probably rack it to my bucket that I use for back sweetening, kinda like your pitcher, then rack back to the jug for pasteurization just to be safe.
Nice to know I’m not the only person that uses the wash bucket to store brewing equipment.
Space saving!
TRBOS is also The Red Bucket of Organization!
Lol, yup.
I would be interested to see like a side by side comparison of what it would look like / sound like without all that set up. I'm sure many would not understand the impact of what you just did other than it looking like a lot of work.
Not really for this channel but on my @brianized channel I might.
No wonder you guys are thinking about getting a separate "studio" space. I'd also want a place where I could set everything up and leave it.
Yup
What label maker machine do you have? And what label machine would you have if there is one out there that you want and for what reasons?
It's just a basic label maker, not for bottling or anything.
When we make bottle labels, we design in Photoshop and print on a regular inkjet printer.
Hey I just started my first hard
Cider... I think my Ph is to low. Can I add baking soda after fermentation has started. It has gone 2 days now.
Probably best to let it go at this point. What was your pH?
@@CitySteadingBrews as its my first time I missed that part. But its Apple juice and Raspberry mix and it was fermenting good first day then it almost stopt then got going again and now its slowing down again. So my guess was that the ph might be to low. But I will wait and see.
@@CitySteadingBrewsthanks for the awnser. Love your content.
Awesome video! Anyone who thinks content creation is easy needs to check this out. I appreciate y'alls videos and the effort you put in to educate and entertain us.
Thank you!
Trbos appearance! 🎉
Yup!
Your house is just like my house! You have tons of stuff everywhere packed neatly away! I have tons of stuff everywhere thrown on the floor! It's exactly the same! PS. Does your tons of stuff smell bad too?
...no?
Now I get why you do multiple brews on filming days!
Ohhhh yeah.
Mini house tour as well XD
Little bit, yup!
You never realize how much work and time goes into even a few minute video until you watch something like this. Also goes to show just how little we actually see as an audience
Yeah... we're learning more and more all the time. It really is interesting what isn't shown!
OMG! How long does that take in real time?
45 mins or so plus audio checks.
@@CitySteadingBrews that's not long. It was fun to watch.
Omg I did not realise it was your kitchen
Lol
In best David Attenborough voice “and here we see a wild Derica and Brian. Derica gathers the tools they’ll need to successfully make it through a fruitful film day. The pair work in unison to build the set, making sure everything is in place. As you can see the curious cats linger around watching the pair go about their daily tasks. The wild Derica in her parriarchy nature relocates the cats to a safer location. As we can see the Brian is not camera shy and gives a little wave. After the time consuming task they are done, ready to film and put a video out in the wild for all to see. Before they can enjoy the fruits of their labour they now have the task of deconstructing their work for the day to once again repeat on the next film day” 🤣😄
lol
Maybe I should had had you record a voice over!
@@CitySteadingBrews 🤣😄
No, not the Attenborough voice. This needs to be recorded in the Franklin voice.
The t.r.b.o.s!!
I meant to add text to that...
Darn UA-cam unsubscribed me, I had resubscribe. I have to check every channel I watch
glad i seen you said this, youtube unsubscribed me as well and did not notice tell i checked after reading your post
Weird... haven't hear of that before!
Its done it to me before. Pretty weird seeing a channel you thought you were subed to as a recommendation.
U know I thought your guys setup was living room or basement
We get that a lot.
The chaotic side of working from home that few people consider. No wonder you aim to film multiple videos in a day. How long does the full setup and takedown take you?
45 mins to set up or so, bit less to take down.
And I get exhausted from setting up for honey harvest in our kitchen. Seems like a lot less work than this...
Chaotic indeed.
You need a bigger house with a room just for the brewing and everything associated with it.
Well... need is relative. If anyone is offering us a bigger house, we're in!
I think the only thing you didn't share with us was what your furnace's air filter looked like.
Well... we don't have a furnace...
As photographers I am sure you v are used to setting up this equipment for a shoot and it translate to what you are doing now.
I would get sick of the set up and take down. For this much work I want to make an extra room or a corner of the basement into a set where everything is there and ready to go.
I am not a professional UA-cam content creator so maybe my view point would be different if I was.
I have enjoyed your videos, hard work and all.
We have no basement as we are in Florida and a tiny house! We only do this twice a week though and shoot all our videos in those two days.
Not "Organized Chaos" but "Chaotic Organization" :)
Lol, I like that!
Huh, always thought the table you used was smaller. I have no clue how you stand having that huge light in both of yalls eyes, that would irritate me to no end. Also KITTIES and FISH ❤, what kind of fish you have?
It's been adjusted to not be annoying.
Bettas and... tiny ones?
First
I LOVE your kitchen and pantry. It says everything I LIKE about you guys, except for maybe the colour of your backsplash and the colour of your living room carpet. MEH. 2 out of 150,00 things is nothing. 😆😆😆😆😆 But what do I know? Your home is so tastefully decorated with clear signs of "homey" & cozy (even for the fur babies) and I can see everything is done with such a practical reason behind it. Happy Mother's Day. Thanks for taking the time to show us and film what it takes to set up one room in your home into a filming studio, to create the wonderful, informative videos you make for us. Another thoughtful video done. Thanks, again.
This was about the setup and showing how much effort goes in 👍
at the very least this explains why you almost always look to the right when talking about your garden.
It does!
Wow! That's a lot of equipment, and time. and labor; mix in alcohol, and a few cats. what could go wrong! Does make for great videos tho! Must be expensive as well
It was built up over time. We started with an iPad!
That didnt seem that hectic to me. It only took you 6 minutes to prep.
Lol, was 55 minutes start to finish in real time.
I like how Brian showed up after you were almost set up, lol
Typical husband, lol
Umm... I was clearing memory cards and preparing the electronics. You saw her pov.
@@CitySteadingBrews lol
okay, two things come to mind watching this:
You guys need a bigger house.
Why is Derica doing so much of the Work and Brian seems to be coasting along?
I know that's not how it is, but the vid surely makes it look that way edited.
If you want to buy us a house, by all means.
The camera is on her, not me. We were both working, it's how we do things.
@@CitySteadingBrews you misunderstand me, it just looked like Derica was doing all the work, I know you guys share the load, it wouldn't work otherwise. and as for buying you a house, well you'll have to wait until I win the Lottery.
Until then I will just have to keep enjoying your work and experimenting myself.
Toooo much sugar for a dime....
Wut?
We do this for a living so...
