Ruffles, clusters & flips - Oh My, what a perfect Scrappy Saturday!! ❤️😊 And NO shortage of body parts...lol!! 🤭 Please look after yourself & your cold/sore throat my friend!! 🤗😘
scrappy saturdays are always inspiring, I have so many fabric scraps. I'd love to see how you use some of these from today. Thanks for sharing! 🥰 hope you feel better.
Feel better, sweet Gayle, and rest that throat. 🥰 I was the one who mentioned the ruler for ruffles and I'm thrilled you gave it a go. Once you've done it a bunch it becomes naturally easier and faster. To straighten or stretch out wrinkles, I place the ruler on the strip drag it slightly toward me and then push up under the foot. The foot holds it in place so no fear of sewing over the ruler. I hope that makes sense. A fun Scrappy fabric video. ❤ Belinda xxx
Love you, Juanette! Love my purchases! Miss you already! Btw…the frog somehow found it’s way to Mike’s underwear drawer! 😂. Betsy may have been a bad influence! 😂😂❤
Good morning Gayle!! Scrappy Saturday with fabric...YAY! 😊 Lots of gorgeous yumminess made today. Off to the she shed to work on the Timmy journal I'm making. Have an awesome day...💜
Good Morning Gayle, Happy SS…love all the fabric, got some ideas from your video today too. TYFS. Have a wonderful day and hope your feeling better too. 👍🌻🌻🌻
Thank you so much for your gift through YT Super Thanks! I appreciate your support so very much! I absolutely love what I do and spending time with my YT crafting buddies! Your appreciation and support are received with a grateful heart. Thank you so much! Love and hugs to you! 🤗❤️
Super reminders for the use of scraps. I am reorganizing my ephemera and paper. I am getting ready to move into a she garage as soon as the remodel is done. ❤❤❤
Gayle.. an unsharpened pencil works great for pushing the fabric for your ruffles, just use the eraser end. My Granny taught me that trick many years ago when she was teaching me to sew. If she had seen what you did to that poor little cherub.. i can just hear her sweet Southern drawl -- "bless its' sweet little heart." 😊
Feel better, Gayle!! Oh yes, today I'm crafting along with you. Remember a while ago you showed those focal points where you gesso on book page, add some color to the edges, stamp something in the middle and then draw a scribbly line around it? Right. Those. So 90% of the time when I love your ideas, I simplify them and make them easier because... well, because, otherwise they won't happen. But THIS time, heaven help me, for some reason I decided that the "scribbly line" should be some thread or yarn scraps that I'll GLUE around the focal point. You know, a body can make a LOT of book page focal points with the first few steps, but gluing on yarn and thread is a tricky matter... so that's what I'm finishing up this morning!! So thank you for this video - I needed your voice and example to get me through the home stretch on this one! 😂
Good morning Gayle. Today I am organizing or reorganizing ...whichever way you want to look at it. Watching your video which I do that. I caught a cold the second week of June. I still do not feel like it is completely gone. All I have left now is an irritating cough. Like you I also have allergies. Hope yours goes away much quicker. Nice to see you working without your cast. Take care. 💕
I’m not doing anything today. It’s supposed to be 108° again so I’m not leaving the house. I got a lot done with it being so hot for the last few days. I finished my journal with that beautiful paint palette fabric. So this morning I got that photographed and the UA-cam video done and the Etsy listing done and Instagram. Filled up the birdbath, watered my tomatoes. Got all my business done. Last night I vacuumed, there was so many scraps and threads all over my craft room floor. I think I’m going to sit on my butt the rest of the day and watch UA-cam videos and it’s not even quite 1 o’clock yet.
This is a good camera angle to see what you’re seeing. Today I will work on a journal for a friend who is moving to Texas. I’m using Joey Cardmaker’s digital Lady Rose Hugs!❤
When I make a ruffle, I use a set of forceps that are flat (made for stamp collecting). It twists the fabric over and keeps my fingers away from the needle.
Good morning Gayle, thank you keeping me company while I was trying to organize my digitals, lol! What a mess! Always fun to watch you play! Have a wonderful day!🤗💜🌻💕
Any time the fabric scraps and sewing machine come out it’s going to be a good day! ❤️ I’m pretty sure I heard Ceri moan as you ripped off the cherubs foot then it’s behind! 🤣 Have a blessed day!
Love the idea of using a ruler to make ruffles.I want to find a six inch ruler. I think it wouldn't be so bulky in my hand in front of the sewing machine. I sit close to my machine. My eyes are not what they used to be. Love your video. Have a quilter that gives me her scrapes. I have to finish the books for the snippet book. I didn't want to cut up the pages. Now I think you have a better idea to use double-sided tape. I'm glad you are out of your brace. The first video I watched on your channel was when you were in a sling after your shoulder surgery. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. Big hug always.
Funny you mention when she was in the sling, that was around the time I started watching her also and I remember being so impressed how good she was at doing things with her left hand.
@LynsAlteredArts I was wondering the same thing Her doing so much with her left hand when I wasted watching her video too. Thank you for being a good friend to her. Your name gets mention a lot, helping her with her camera shutdown. And answering questions on her comment section. Big hug to you.
Thanks so much, Linda! You are such a sweetheart and I’m so blessed you have been my UA-cam crafting buddy for so many years! Love and hugs to you, dear one! ❤
That was a happy scrappy Saturday. Beautiful flips and ruffles and clusters. I do love watching you play with fabric. 😀. How is your wrist doing. Every time you moved the sewing machine I was holding my breath❤️. Love and hugs
@@gayleagostinelli_ct I am happy for you! So glad it healed well and is getting stronger ❤️I had one of those braces years ago when I first started having problems with my wrist and thumb joint. I hated it. So that didn’t last long😅!
the little square from your Happy Mail--I remember when I was a kid, my mom would get a catalog. They would send samples of material. I would sew them together and stuff them with Kleenex and make blankets and pillows for my Barbi Doll.
I love the fabric flips with the red cherry print. They are so cheerful! Why can't bobbin thread go on forever though? I've made ruffles in a "chain" process and put numerous strips through my machine before I realized the bobbin thread was gone! 🤥
Good morning Gayle! Happy scrappy Saturday! I always love watching you make fabric flips and such with your fabric scraps. Such fun. TFS! I’ve been busy rearranging my whole craft room. A lot of work but so worth it…Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💕💖Hugs!!
That was a very productive scappy Saturday. You take care of yourself, give that voice a rest and feel better soon. I too have a slight cold, summer colds are not fun at all.
Happy Saturday sweet Gayle! You blew through those fabric scraps! Headed out to ladies fellowship for a couple hours. This home body would rather stay in the craft room LoL. Blessings 💜 Patty
Today I am going to make some ephemera, as yesterday I picked up a small 1958 french book. The pages are yellowed and smelly and the jacket is in good condition so I'll recycle it. Yumminess! 😀 I love your fabric flips
I don't know if you're the supplement kind of folk, but I take Zinc at the first sign of a cold. I also gargle with Listerine every day since December 2019 and I've been cold and flu free. I am making journal covers ( collaged) with Amazon mailers as I was watching that video from your Playlist Friday evening. Feel better❤
Good morning Gayle ❤. I am having coffee ☕️ with you and the kitties on the porch. I know what you mean about the brace; I still have to wear mine as well and it’s getting in the way 😢. Hope you feel better ❤️🩹 soon. You and your videos crack me up! 😂 Have a happy scrappy Saturday my friend. ❤ hugs 🤗 Dee
Oh, how happy all of this makes me. I had a question: have you tried backing the fabric flips with a thin piece of paper where you stitch them together? I have been wondering how well that might work for glueing it easier, but my machine is not working at the momento try.
Since you asked...I'm farting around in my art room today creating whatever...no project in mind. Enjoying the day in whatever it brings. Thanks for asking.
I’m sure I have used a ruffle on a pocket at some point. Though I prefer bumpy stuff like that on removable items like topping a tag. I do like them down the side of a page best though! ❤
@@gayleagostinelli_ct thank you for the inspiration 💗 love everything you do, even the happy accidents, which helps me a lot because it shows me even wonderful journal makers fumble sometimes and it's ok..and that there's always a solution to fix it☺️
I am not sure if you watch Sunset Crafts and More - I know you love making ephemera and she does a craft with me let’s make a corset ephemera holder if you have not made one looks very interesting
Well that was fun...except you didn't listen to a single word I said Gayle! 😂 Nope, you just totally ignored everything I said. 😉 TFS Hope you have a great day. (Happy you get to take your brace off. It must feel very freeing.)
❤ lol…..I can’t believe you ripped the foot off a cherub. OMG…..and then you ripped its butt off.
Hehe I was like Oh Lord there goes a foot, but then, there goes his little butt. 😂😂 Gotta love a Saturday morning with Gayle!
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
And then his knee.

Hi Gayle. Hope you’re not getting sick. I was so excited to see we were doing fabric today! Lots of fun. 😊
That Singer was a good investment to last 53 years. I’m making paper beads today. I hope you start feeling better instead of worse, Gayle. ❤
I have been slow stitching fabric clusters. Fraying all the edges for a shabby look. Very relaxing for me.

I'll try the ruler, but I have had good luck using a plastic art spatula, the pointy one. Nikki Adegun showed this method for making ruffles.
