Welcome to the Masai Mara, a preserved savannah with an abundance of African wildlife. This place is on the top choice for most safari-goers, which is why we HAD to include it on our most recent Kenya itinerary.
I’ve had the privilege of visiting the Mara several times throughout my life and each time I go it’s an entirely different experience. On this trip, Shelley and I went to the Mara North Conservancy, a conservancy that protects the northwestern zone of the greater Mara ecosystem. This place offers a much more exclusive and private experience because only guests of the few camps inside its confounds are allowed access to the area.
We traveled with the Elewana Collection on this adventure and stayed at their iconic Elephant Pepper Camp. This remote eco-camp overlooks the vast grasslands and sits in the heart of Mara North. We knew from the moment we arrived that THIS was the ultimate safari dream.

We were very lucky with that cheetah hunt! Sometimes you're in the right place at the right time. Game drives are always unknown, that's what makes them so addicting! If this is your first safari trip it might not be your last LOL!

Love your videos of the Mara! Are any of them from the low season (Feb through May)? Curious what your thoughts on sightings and experience are then?
Thank you for watching! March and April can be a rainy time in Mara, some camps are closed for this reason. Regardless of weather it’s still a year-round destination and you can design a trip any time of year.
