So im focusing on goats because 90% my land is woods but 2 acers how many cows would i be able to have wirh hay and corn? I want like 5 on rotation so rotate oldest out at 4 years?
On average, a steer needs about an acre to and an acre and a half of grazing land, but if you’re supplementing with corn and hay, you may be able to graze more. But be very careful that you don’t overgraze the land! Overgrazing can be very harmful for the soil! I would encourage you to watch Carbon Cowboys on UA-cam and learn about the AMP grazing method. It may answer your questions more thouroughly!
Holy spider webs! Are those spider webs behind you? 😮

What do you do for your calves since you don't feed grain and they get haybelly?
never had that happen. we also don't do cow/calf anymore. Found that buyer feeders was more cost effective for us
What about fermenting grains for steer??? Azurestandard sells bulk grain!
We don’t use any grains or anything. Just an extra feed cost that doesn’t pencil out for our operation.
Beef tastes good any way you feed them! 😋

Currently we have all British White Park
I suspect you get more money for grass-fed beef.
