I think the reason why Derrick Rose receives the most sympathy of the four guys on this list is because he was the only guy who was never a difficult player/teammate. Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, and Carmelo Anthony had big egos, which resulted in butting heads with their teammates and coaches. Once those three humbled themselves, they were able to continue their careers. Rose was always humble, even when he won MVP.

Rondo on the Mavericks wasn't a good fit, I honestly don't know what they were thinking trading for him. I guess at the time Rondo was still seen as a borderline superstar so they figured he just would but the Mavs offense at the time really required point guards to be knock down shooters and their leading scorers were Monta Ellis who was very ball dominant. That was never going to work with Rondo.

I at one point thought D-Rose's legs were made of glass wrapped in paper. 2013 me would've never seen his career lasting this long let alone being as good as he is now. I am really rooting for that guy to get a ring.

most videos I’ve seen taking on this subject mentioned that about 60% of people watching aren’t subbed. So I don’t think it’s that weird. It seems to be the norm.

I'll always feel bad for D-Rose. He could have been a HoFer if he just stayed healthy.. He worked insanely hard to get back in the league, though, and is still contributing instead of just throwing all his weight behind his athleticism like people such as the (unfindable, apparently) Jonny Flynn.

That these guys can stay relevant in the League even though their bodies cant maintain this 'freak of nature' status anymore they once had, shows to me that they are truly talented. And that it takes so so much to become one of the best players out there. They lost so much of their athletic ability because of injuries and still come out as an above average NBA player. Its crazy if you think about it.

You brought up a great point in this video...everybody, myself included, likes to talk about prime D Rose and oh who's better prime D Rose vs prime Joe Schmoe? But you're right, we never even got into his true prime playing days, his last all star game was 2012 before he even got into his mid-20s. That makes it even more crazy when you think about his MVP season and leading the Bulls to the best record in the east...sure he had teammates who were all stars at the time or all stars in the past like Joakim Noah (obviously, who was an MVP contender himself at one point) Carlos Boozer and even Luol Deng (who doesn't get enough credit for his time with the Bulls) but he was the main reason the Bulls had so many eyes on them at the time...22 years old for fucks sake.
