I believe at some point, you'll actually start to prefer their native-language songs. As an English-only speaker, I know I do. The sounds they make with the Korean syllables, and how much better they flow with the song. For example in this song, in English, one line says "Though I struggle, I'm at the bottom of the sea, nah, nah (ad-lib)". That sounds....weird. But in Korean, the word for 'sea' - which sounds like 'pa-da' comes right before the ad-lib and flows MUCH better: "pa-da, nah, nah" (and it sounds like a repetition of the three "nah, nah, nah's" ending the preceding lyric)
Especially in the rap songs, the hard Korean syllables just SLAP. Like bullet-fire, I love it so much - it sounds way better to my ear than English rap now
I've heard 'covers' of BTS songs, where the singer just makes up English lyrics or tries to pigeonhole an English translation into the music and it just. doesn't. work....In my opinion, it sounds terrible and truly changes the song into something *less* and too different. BTS have even talked about their song 'Singularity', written by the guy you said looks like a bad-ass, RM. It's a song sung solo by BTS member V, who LOVES singing in English. Particularly because he loves American soul/R&B music and 'Singularity' is very neo-R&B, V requested to translate & sing it in English and they tried it, but everyone agreed it just did not work as well and they went back to the original.

As a non-native english speaker I'm always a little amused when native english speakers listen to something in another language. It's like "welcome to our world". 😂 It makes me feel that the world is getting a little smaller in the best way possible. 💜

The "badass" you liked is RM, he's the leader of BTS. He wrote and produced his own rap mixtapes. The other 2 rappers Suga and J-Hope also wrote and produced their own mixtapes. They sank in millions of dollars to make their rap solo stuff and released everything for free. And no Black Swan does NOT showcase their talent in hiphop at all, it's very light on the rap. Most of their very viral songs are gonna be very mellow on the rap. Try Born Singer, it is their version of Born Sinner by J Cole. It's like 80% rapping. No music vid, here's a good live performance of it:

If you want to see them go REALLY hard into rap, the 3 rappers also have their own sub-unit where they only do rap songs together. Start with their Cyphers #1 - #4. No music vids again, you can react to the color-coded lyric vids. And then this Cypher Medley live performance is a must, each rapper performs a verse for the first 3 Cyphers and then they perform the entire 4th Cypher:

I know it might be tempting to keep choosing their most viewed songs, but their most viewed songs aren't necessarily their most popular songs. Their rap and hiphop songs are just as popular among fans. So hope you'll choose songs from your preferred genres.
Also, music can transcend spoken words and language, it's all just "sounds" at the end of the day. That's why classical music and orchestral film music can evoke so much emotion without a single word spoken. If I can make a suggestion for listening to songs in a foreign language, try to "feel" the sound of the song more. Lyrics are just one aspect of a song, the actual "sound" of the song can make you feel a lot too.
As someone who English is not her first language i have to say once you are able to not care about language barrier and get over the fact that it's not in your mother tongue, you will open a door to a whole new and bigger world of art and entertainment unfortunately even tho other parts of the world has accepted this fact and we consume English media with the help of subtitles with no problem or we learn second and third languages but English speaking people have a hard time understanding that they can do the same and not limit themselves

Ignore the negative comments, ARMY is a very diverse group of fans. We welcome everyone and we are excited to bring alone fan into our fold. All we want is for you to react honestly to their music and begin to understand why we love them so much, not just as artists but as people. BTS is truly a one of kind band.
Many Armys will wonder and ask the same thing "are you doing this for the views" and it is not even personal usually. Because there are many that do it for the views, which still is ok for me cuz its youtube and I get satisfied with the fact that the views on the BTS videos increase. But Armys are enthusiastic about reactions because of the backstories of the members and the hidden meaning and symbolisms in their songs and MVs. The protective side of the Armys are not only for the reactors but for the talk shows, celebrities that mention them and advertising agencies as well. Because BTS has a massive power that many channels did grow through them and many shows garnered high views. BTS (not "can" but "does") does make anything that they touch sell out including fabric softener for goodness sake.
At the end though, I really like your reactions so far, not everyone will be hopping around to show their likeness of BTS. And if you wanna keep diving into them or just their music, you should. But for some it is overwhelming so you should do what you want, in the amount you wish to, and you are right, don't care about the negative comments much.

So here's what I don't understand about people 'calling out' reactors for watching BTS "for the views"... no shit; do expect reactors to watch videos that DON'T get views? That doesn't mean that the reactor doesn't LIKE what they're watching. Also... so what; every reactor that watches the official MV for a BTS song adds a view to that song AND their followers who may not have been familiar with BTS may like what they hear and go check out OTHER BTS videos. All of this slowly exposes others to the awesomeness that is BTS and grows the ARMY.
Personally, I am really sick of the "using BTS for views" crap. I say use them for views-go right ahead! BTS will do the rest! Most people cannot resist BTS. Just saying.

Black Swan was my intro to BTS; I fell in love and now am way down the rabbit hole. They performed this Live (singing and dancing same time) on James Corden show, and at their latest concerts in LA late Nov/Dec 2021. I'll have to see what you already reacted to, and then come back and make other recommendations. They have a huge discography going back to 2013, and their style has changed over the years. Looks like you've only reacted to 3 so far, so some others to check out: Fire, Dope, DNA, Fake Love, Blood Sweat & Tears, Idol, Pied Piper (live), FESTA 2021 Live - its a medley and you'll get a taste of singing and rapping, Save Me, Spring Day, Ddaeng (live with vocalists taking over the rappers parts, or just a live of the rappers), Outro: Tear (rappers only, Live). Once you get these and more under your belt, then watch Melon Music Awards (MMA) BTS performances for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019**, and 2020. Also MNet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) BTS performances - same years probably. I'm guess that, like me, you've never seen a performance (let alone an award show performance) like any of these. Last suggestion: watch The Most Beautiful Moment in Life by The Asian Theory, and Introduction to the 7 Members of BTS by Ida S, to get to know who these guys are better. RM (formerly Rap Monster), is the "bad ass" guy you mention and is the Leader of BTS.

They have so much content, mvs, their reality show run bts, movies, live performances, etc. some good mvs to watch are ON, blood sweat and tears, idol, boy with luv, dynamite (English). They did a great cover of cold plays fix you and then did a song “my universe”with Coldplay. They all have solo songs as well. You should watch one of The Who is BTS videos that explains each member etc. have fun with them. Their music will be there for you when you need it most!!
I've been enjoying your reactions to BTS. Their discography is deep and you have only just begun. Just go at your own pace, enjoy yourself, never mind what anyone else thinks. BTS is band and normally a band will have instruments like guitars or drums etc but they dobt use such that's their dancing and choreo is their instruments and that's according to their leader RM (who has an IQ of 148). BTS is a GENRE since they do all kinds oof songs and rap.

The Map of the Soul albums encompass the psychological concepts of Carl Jung. The Persona, the part of ourselves that we show the world. The Shadow, the part of ourselves we keep hidden (fears and doubts). The Ego, our conscience selves. Our hopes and dreams. Black Swan falls in the Shadow part. It’s based off a quote from dancer Martha Graham “a dancer dies twice, and this first death is the hardest.” It’s about losing their passion for music.

Do Singularity!! It sounds amazing, a more slow, poetic Neo-Soul song, but it's one of my favorites, especially the case if people usually like RnB so that's why I recommend it. Rain is another really good one, more like a calming song you'd hear in a coffee shop or so. When they released the Map Of The Soul: 7 album early 2020, they filmed 3 videos in California as they were in the states at the time. This one was filmed at a closed theatre. The other 2 were both On Kintectic Manifesto & On the Music Video.

At first listening to music in a different language was enjoyable but definitely weird for me. Now I hardly recognise that it’s a different language that I’m singing in, it just flows so nice.

The first Official MV released for the Black Swan song was an art film featuring the Slavakian Dance troupe. The instrumentals, chorus, and minimal vocals are heard in the background. Well worth watching. A powerful interpretation of Martha Graham's quote"A dancer dies twice, the first is the most painful". Please look this up. This was the kickoff of the worldwide Art Connect project, largely sponsored by BTS, featuring and supporting contemporary artists in several major cities.
Your sound quality is good. Would you consider enlarging the video screen since there are so many group members, constantly moving and so your audience can see the captions as well?

Lumpens is the video production company that does most of their MVs. They are incredible and their talent, along with BTS, create excellent music videos. Fire and Chicken Noodle Soup with Becky G are ones I think you would like. My suggestion is that you turn off subtitles the first time you watch it. Enjoy the music, vocals and the video. You can delve into the lyrics and their meanings later.

There are some great performances of "ON". They also preformed it in Grand Central Station in NYC on The Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon. People said that they had too much CGI in their videos and in true BTS form they made a kick ass Music video with Killer CGI " Idol".

Now I love them and I can tell them apart by voice and flow

RM or Namjoon is not the badass of the group, he's the wise one, the leader.. Suga is the badass of the group, actually..
And i am pretty sure for most ARMYs it really more comfortable hearing they're singing in Korean mixed with a lil English.
