I recently switched from learning blender to programming. And its crazy how you master all of blender, programming, and photoshop. Huge applause for you mate
the most amazing thing is that this is real, like hello, pls breathe a few seconds and understand that these beautyfull things r in the same reality like the next forest or mountains, life is sooo cool, thx dude ! :)
Thank you for providing tools and knowledge that we all can use to hopefully make our lives more joyful on our small planet in the vastness of the universe.
You plan on updating this for 4.2 when it changes how extensions/addons work and how dependencies are handled? Or is this going to be a 4.1 and less only addon? Bit of a weird question/request could the image stacking be done on image layers/planes in blender? Compositing is cool but getting it into a layered UV space would let you do much more with the data. Doing that would also let you put it onto of a spherical map from Deep Star Maps and align the vector data to get an arcuate location on it. Having it that way also would let you manipulate the data with geometry nodes and shader nodes which can do some artistic, and practical things with a different tool than just python or the compositor. You could use the intensity on the density of a principled volume, or to displace a mesh giving you new ways to look at the same data for example. That said it's a cool sounding addon on it's own Thanks for sharing it!
Any advice on how to choose good images? the nebula in the video works very well, but so far I've tried 3 others (crab, pillars of creation, and horsehead) and of those 3 only the crab got decent results. Does the instrument make a big difference? so far I hadn't paid much attention, but I'm starting to think maybe Nircam is a safer choice...
Nircam will almost always produce better and higher less images since it's the "primary" sensor for James Webb. If you just click the random button for a bit you can find some cool ones. Pretty much JWST and HST are the ones you wanna look for though and make sure to look for the blue box icon since that essentially indicates that NASA and the Archive have tagged it as being good for visualization and publication.
@@AlaskanFX Ok thanks! That website was a bit daunting at first, but I think I'm getting the hang of it now. (also I forgot I set the gamma really low so that's another reason I wasn't seeing good results). Thanks again for the addon! I slapped a nebula in the background of an asteroid scene and it upped the production value 10 fold lol
@@stevensteverly Great to hear! Ya, there's definitely a bit of a learning curve with this stuff, but absolutely a great tool for creating background plates and such
Hey , i just discovered your channel , i want to learn space vfx in blender , your videos are awesome , but can you recommend me any course to learn space vfx specifically ?
Did you install the dependencies? Also, I mentioned at the link but it currently only works on windows devices. Also, you need to restart Blender for the add on to work correctly once you’ve installed it, that is important
@@lordclod If the issue persists please let me know. Are you using Blender 4.1? I've successfully installed the addon on machines other than mine and this error occurred only if I tried to use it before restarting Blender.
