Cosmetic Damage endorsements can be beaten for the most part but nobody fights back, they are responsible for direct physical damage or direct physical loss at stated in their policy. You only win if you fight back. This in my opinion is denomination of value which devalues your home or farm.

In Florida if you put a Metal Roof on compared to shingles... You will not get a insurance premium discount. WHY I ASKED because your home would then hold more value with metal .. So they say your premium would be about the same and might go up. Any other state Idk but I bet its the same in every state when it comes to insurance companies.. You do add value but different levels of value based on how the metal roof was installed and now the material that the installer used i guess now a days

Thanks for the great professional info, very helpful! Would "wind & hail coverage" normally cover hurricane damage, from wind-borne debris?

Coastal Designs greetings. I would recommend consulting with your insurance agent or a licensed Public Insurance Adjuster so that these fine men here aren’t ever accused of UPPA (Unlawful Practicing of Public Adjusting). While they may have general understanding of how insurance claims work, only those with licenses can inform you of what your policy says. I’m licensed in Texas and many of our firm Public Adjusters hold licensed in Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida, and Louisiana. Hurricane damage, even from debris would fall under a wind or wind and hail peril.
