If the packers don’t win this handedly, don’t be too concerned. This is Chicago’s Super Bowl and their last stand. If they lose this week they know they probably won’t get into the dance
"We held the Lions to 5 yards per play". It was pissing down rain the whole game. Mud and slippery grass was the best defense either team had. Of course the yards per play were low. The Lions got a lead and then ran plays to run the clock down. The Packers were forced to pass as the game wore on because they needed to score. I can't say much about either teams defense other than they were both fine.
So their strategy to run the clock down somehow landed them with less rushing yards than the Packers, even though they hit their season average for yards per carry? They had the ball for 31:11. Not exactly dominating the time of possession.
It’s the Green Bay Packers week for the Chicago Bears, so something had to be done. After weeks of offensive failures for the Chicago Bears, they will have a new offensive coordinator and new playcaller at Soldier Field on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers visit them. It’s certainly a questionable long-term process for the Chicago Bears, but it’s a new challenge for the Green Bay Packers after all, Jeff Hafley will have to build his gameplan without a single game of Thomas Brown calling plays for Caleb Williams. At this point, the Chicago Bears wanted some type of change, and Caleb Williams has not thrown a single touchdown pass since week 6. Naturally, any type of change brings new challenges, and the Green Bay Packers will have to handle those on Sunday. But it’s also not a huge difference, and the basics of the scheme will be the same. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Only the Bears can take a top 5 Defense and a handful of top teir "round 1" draft picks for offense, easily a playoff caliber team and drive them to the ground! All their easy games are behind them. They will be lucky to win 2 more games to finish the season. If the packers don't get better and play like they have been they still win 4-5 more games pretty easily I think. But if the offense plays like they did at the end of last year, with the defense playing like they are now, they can win the division. Either for the packers I feel like it's worst case playoffs 7th seed, best case.... the sky
The resistance and reasoning not to sit Love for the Lion game almost felt the way far left dogma is presented. A new thing that you can't argue against and presented as if it has allows been the way things are done. Jordan isn't going to ask to sit out and what he is being paid has nothing to do with if he should sit out. Getting well and his effectiveness in the game should be the only considerations, not the politics of it?
I wish we would’ve sat him and seen Malik again. Not replaced him just giving Melly another game and probably would’ve won it especially with the conditions. It was perfect for a running quarterback to get out there.
Nah. Just win, baby. Why would just beating the Bears, even if it's ugly, for the eleventh time straight not be enough? Packers fans love to prepare for disappointment.
@@greenmajik6920 Sure, beating the Bears is enough for the 'W,' but Packer fans would like to think they have a team that can win games in the playoffs. If the Pack has to struggle against the Bears, it doesn't give much basis for being hopeful about the playoffs. Personally, I really enjoy the game and that's enough. I'll watch the season and the playoffs no matter who succeeds and who doesn't. Given my druthers, however, I'd rather my team did go all the way, and so, for that matter, so do you, if you're being honest...
@@Caleb-w6l The Packers are a legit SB contender. Shouldn't it be enough that they win? They can't win a championship on Sunday, but they can beat a division rival, which will help their chances at a deep run. I don't want to tell people how to fan, but it surprises me how Packer fans insert unnecessary anxiety into situations. Perhaps it's because I deal with anxiety on the daily so I separate it from my fandom lol. If the Packers win on Sunday in Chicago with an overtime field goal, would you be upset that they have "problems?" I think a lot of Packer fans would, and that strikes me as spoiled. Just enjoy it!
@@greenmajik6920 in my humble, but correct opinion, the Packers are a top 10 NFL team, but not a top five. Yes, you have to win to get to the prom, but if you get there by just scaping by and winning ugly, come the playoffs you'll be one and done. Packers have 8 games to nail down a wild card play-off spot. - half-way through the season sitting at third in the NFC North means there's work to be done to be a legit SB contender, which I don't think is out of reach, but can't be taken for granted.
GB on upset alert Bukowski is high off his gourd with the cope he spews, thinking the pack held the score down against the Lions. GB got 2 field goals and a garbage time touchdown, and the Lions didn't push a final drive that could have easily been another touchdown, opting to cook the clock. Weather was certainly a factor and the pack/Love is mid
Packers couldn't score, but Peter isn't saying the Packers' offense played great. He's saying their defense did. And giving up 17 points to the Lions should be proof of that. I like that you also conveniently left out the Wicks dropped TD when he was wide open and the missed kick that followed. But for some reason you're giving the Lions credit for a final drive that started at mid field? Even though they were moving the ball with check downs, while the Packers played prevent defense. Hilarious.
Hilarious listening to Peter talking about how this defense did so great and the evidence is that against the Lions they held them to only 17 points. Did he not notice the monsoon and the rain blowing sideways? Like that had nothing to do with it. Oh, also the Lions totally let the foot off the gas somewhere in the middle of the third quarter where it was 23-3. If that game was played in the same building, at the same time but without the rainstorm, the Lions easily would have hit their average.
The Lions are a top 10 rushing offense (147ypg) and barely a top 20 passing offense (237ypg). Wouldn't rain benefit a team who is good at running the ball? The Packers were playing from behind for the entire second half and still finished with more rushing yards (138) than the Lions did (124). The Lions also finished with 4.7ypc, which is their season average. Jared Goff only mustered 145 passing yards in a game where the Packers were without two starters in their secondary. But Jordan Love, in the same weather, put up 273 passing yards. The Packers finished with more rushing yards, more passing yards, more total yards, more yards per play, more total plays, more first downs, less sacks given up, and less punts. They lost because they racked up 10 penalties and Jordan Love threw one terrible pick 6. Regardless of the weather, there was no "easily" for the Lions hitting their average anything.
Look at the numbers for both teams, factor in drops, and then explain to mean how that's true. Packers defense held the Lions to their rushing average in a game where they should have run the ball more. They also held the Lions below their passing average with two starting DBs out. Give the Lions two more TDs in good weather and their offense scores 31 points. The same offense that just hung 52 points on the Titans, who have a case for being a top 5 defense. No matter how you look at it, the Packers defense played better than most people expected, against a Lions' offense that has looked great all year.
This guy is so delusional it’s not even funny. It was a monsoon, that’s the only reason we didn’t score more. We could have scored at the end but we took a knee. He’s trying to convince himself the Packers are on the Lions level. They might lose to the Bears.
Did the monsoon only effect the Lions? Because the Packers finished with more passing and rushing yards, even though they had multiple drops. The Lions' offense has been excellent this year, no one is denying that. But even if you doubled their offensive scoring, the Packers played them better than the Titans did. And the Titans are a top 5 defense in yards this season. Also, you said "we" twice to describe a team I'm pretty sure you don't play on. Maybe Pete isn't the delusional one.
@ whatever helps you both sleep better. Did all those passing or rushing yards add up to a W? That would be a No! Better focus on beating the bears buddy.
