This episode rapidly turned EZ from the Protag to the Antag. Earlier seasons showed that he was cool, calm and collected. That he would look several steps ahead and be an excellent council to whoever was in charge. (As a Prospect, that meant every Full Patch). Now? Well that speech just confirms it. Without finding out the truth, he has unfortunately become comparable to Hitler; he’s used his oratory skills, education and previous reputation to insight a war through propaganda. A war that is basically Santa Padre versus every single organisation in California. He may as well be saying “If you are not a Mayan, you are my enemy”. To alter a Star Wars quote, by swapping two letters around, “Only a shit deals in absolutes”. Strap in Folks. Because from this point on, EZ is the bad guy. From this point on, Angel is the good guy. From this point on, it is blood brother against blood brother, and a third one, Miguel, has quite the coin to flip. Bishop will leave to join Taza, and both will join Alvarez. The three of them, along with several other Mayan Charters/Chapters, will join forces with The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club. (As much as I’d love to see the Mayans patch over to Samcro, it’ll never happen). Gilly will stick by EZ’s side. He will die by his side as well. Creeper will have to choose which side he is on and then work things his end from incarceration. Hank will die trying to get Bishop to return. Angel will be 80% on his brother’s side, but 20% will be trying to end the war in a peaceful manner. Nestor will do Similar to Angel, convincing EZ that he has no loyalties to Alvarez, but will be working to bring things down from within. Felipe will certainly die, worsening any chance for EZ to retain any stability. The end result? Well, think about how good the battle was at the end of Season 3 / the beginning of season 4. A reference has already been made to the first Godfather film (the door being closed over on Angel in the same manner Al Neri did to Kay Adams). Could there be a very bullet-filled reference to the final scene of Scarface? EZ as the final Mayan taking on other Criminal Organisations in the same way Tony Montana did in Scarface (1983). Or EZ defeating all the other Criminal Organisations but now having to face off alone against law enforcement in the same way Tony Camonte did in Scarface (1932). Let’s wait and see…
