    They are close to $300 in Australia, but it is a great razor. Been wet shaving now for 3 years with the 34C had the opportunity to get this at a good price. An amazing Razor, especially for sensitive skin. Fine hair

    The smoothest shave I have had have come from my Gillette slim. For closeness I go for the Merkur 34c. The feather is well made but overrated as a razor.

    I have one that I use either Feather or Rapira LUX blades in I would not use any other brands. It is mild and with a coarse or thickish beard it might take a few more passes to get it all and it makes for a great buffing razor (multiple short passes over stubborn parts) without the risk of nicks or cuts. Expensive yes but worth it YES!! Used with a quality cream and a pre shave just a great buy :D

    One of these in the post winging it's way to me from my supplier 🙂, actually arrived mid-day so of course I had to go try it out .............. 10/10 all round well worth the money blade used was also a Feather but then again I've used their blades for years gave a BBS shave right out the box

    I have this and I have to be honest with you. I like my Merkur 34C better. This razor though very lovely is so non aggressive I just never get as close as I do with the Merkur. And because it's so non aggressive, I end up getting cut because I tend to press harder. I alternate but typically don't use it that often...

    The Rockwell 6S looks way more appealing for me. All stainless steel as well, customisable mildness to more aggressive shaves with the interchangeable heads, and around £100 cheaper.
    Yes the Rockwell may not have the same finishing off that the Feather has, but its still pretty close, and will last a lifetime to. I know which I would go for when I'm in the market for a stainless steel razor.

      For one this is an over glorified razor. An Edwin Jagger or merkur cost a fraction of the price with better performance. Quality wise if you take care of your razors this isn't an issue if you want to blow this much money on a razor might as well get a vintage razor

    • @DanielR1
      @DanielR1 6 років тому +4

      Merkurs have awful tolerances. You have to manually shift the blade to make it sit properly. Merkur razors have the non-cutting blade edges sticking out of their razors, which is kinda mandatory for them because of the tolerances but also a safety issue. Some people got bloody noses from this. With the Feather, you don't have to adjust the blade. It just sits the way it is supposed to. It completely encloses the blade for a safe shave. It's a completely different class, it looks and feels much better. It is also a lot more durable. The original Gillette razors cost about $120 in 2018 dollars. Besides, not everyone likes used shaving products.

    The Feather AS-D2 is probably the most overrated, overpriced and overestimated safety razor on the world market.
    First, the material is dubious. It's relatively light, looks cheap, and blatantly resembles aluminum. It seems to me that the producer plays tricks on the customers, calling it an "all stainless" razor without really using the word "steel". This seems to me an act of deception, trying to create the false expectation that it's made of stainless steel, though it actually isn't. There are many materials that are "stainless" without necessarily having to be stainless steel.
    Second, this razor's performance is extremely poor. You have to keep cap-riding all the time to achieve at least some shave. Even if you use the Feather blades, this razor almost doesn't shave. It's zero aggressiveness really sucks.
    Third, it looks very cheap and ugly because the material looks like aluminum. The only thing that is obviously made of stainless steel is the stand. The cheap appearance of the razor unpleasantly contrasts with the beautiful stainless steel finish of the stand - these two look like they don't belong to each other.
    I've bought this toy for my son to become his firsts safety razor, because it's unlikely to nick him. Unfortunately, I think it's also unlikely to give him any shave at all.
    Besides, this razor is also extremely unsuitable for men with sensitive skin because many strokes need to be applied at one place to achieve at least some shave; this naturally leads to bad skin irritation. I find it actually questionable whether this toy is suitable for anyone at all. Compared to, for instance, the excellent Edwin Jagger 3one6, the AS-D2 is just a bunch of problems.
