Yeah you can use it with colored pencils I've seen people using the draws to hold a whole set of pencils. If you're coloring in a book I would just suggest getting some clips to hold it open like I did at the end of the video 🤗

I use it mostly for the storage aspect , but I like to use the easel part if coloring in bed
