Its a silver elo thing. You can play exactly like skimm did and confirm half the evils left in a game, but if you did it by executing a townie, you apparently need to go back to classic. When skimm gets to the rank he actually deserves that becomes less of a problem. At platinum people would not only totally understand what you did and why, but would have done the same, and don't even need telling who the confirmed evils are, unless they haven't claimed, in which case you post those parts of your will and they get it. You were called a bad jailor because of perspective, information and salt. Let me explain. You managed to kill Toir because you collected enough information to realize he was evil. But in his perspective, there was no way you had enough information and so, in his mind, he thought you "random executed" him and got lucky. You can see his last words were "lucky". That's why he thought you were bad. And also because he was salty af. Immediately after that, you jail and execute another mafia claim. From their perspective, you couldn't possibly know he was mafia. And you didn't really. What you had was a very fucking high chance of being right because of the massive flow of TI claims with so few RT and TI spots remaining. But they didn't know you knew that. So, again, it looked like luck. What i learned after playing Town of Salem is that most of the time you cannot judge someone else's actions because you do not have that person's information set. What may look like random to one player might actually be an accurate decision based on the other player's info up to that point. Because of that, you shouldn't feel bad when someone says you played badly. Even if you actually did screw up and, dunno, shoot doctor as vigi. Because at that time, with the info you had, it seemed like the right play. So stand up tall and be proud of the decisions you make. That goes for everyone here, not just Skimm.

I think he quickly got that you were Jailor given that you were still asking for TP and that he had invested you already. When you were about to exe him, naturally, he wasn't too happy about it. But he didn't really say anything else after your explanation.
DesRa Seven doesn't matter, though. That's the problem with ToS, every player on a good role thinks their being alive is necessary in order to win. You take the death there because it draws a road map for Town (2 people are immediately 100% evil) while they unshakeably hold the majority. The invest's particular worth is inferior to the certainty of 2 evil in that situation. If there were a TI whose ability is "after night 3 reveal 2 evil but immediately die", they'd be overpowered. After that point, all that invedt could have done was identify the mafioso, and Town can do that on their own with Jailor + transporter + BG, all confirmed upon the arso death, who argued he "freestyled wills".
Exactly! People being afraid of dying annoys me so much because they make the worst plays because of it. When TP's don't cover Jailor because they think they're going to die so they self heal, when Vet's alert the first night because they're afraid of being attacked, or when people with "important" roles don't claim because they don't want to be attacked. I understand their logic (I once thought the same way) because you want to keep playing no matter what but understanding that its okay if you die and sometimes its better if you die is what separates good players from great players.

It's a game you can play on facebook or steam :) its really fun once you play a few matches and start to get the hang of what the roles do! It's a very brain intensive game just from reading social cues and putting the pieces together to either kill everyone, or not die. Very fun, been playing it for 4 years, would recommend :D

I've executed evils who didnt claim right away as Jailor... had one evil also say "Oh the jailor didnt talk" but didnt bother claiming at all. If you are Town, you would Claim Right Away.. you would have no reason to hesitate because you KNOW you are town.

I then Exe the Arsonist for not being on me with their BG Claim I reveal the whole mafia due to jailee's results and scum reads I exe the afk Spy with a confirmed BMer and the spy had no will. I agree I have been exe'd by jailors that go as fast as Skimm while playing, my hands shake so it takes me a bit longer than most to copy and paste, so they instantly think im guilty because I was a bit slow even though my will was rock solid.
I dont play ranked so I dont take it to serious. But when i am Jailor i like to be really aggresive, not because it might be good, it is because I like the role play and it is fun to play with the other players emotions XD

At 5:02, Reeeeeeeee claimed invest and said Mr.Robot was Escort, Consort, Mayor, when the results should have been Escort, Consort, Transporter. You missed that one
@@freddykrueger4326 Nah, the Invest results are always the exact same groups of 3, 'BG, GF, Arso' for example is always a set, and is how Skimm realized 3 was guilty. What Van Tran is pointing out is that Reee didn't type in the correct set, and so should have been exe'd immediately. The Invest results will always be the same sets of 3 for each game, if you play I highly recommend learning the sets, can help you call out a bad Invest claim!
I only won three placement games but somehow I was at 2010 ELO. Not sure how that works. Yesterday as transporter I kept saying this person was godfather, everyone told me he was jailor and so they lynched someone else, who turned out to be the actual jailor. It is so frustrating how unobservant players can be sometimes.
Apart from failing to notice Reeeeeees incorrect will, you carried hard. Though I can't stand the 3 2 1 tactic. I personally prefer the silent jailor tactic.

Some people fail at this tactic but Skimm does this mainly to pressure them slightly, If they are a little slow he generally doesn’t exe. But I do agree some people do this way to fast. Though all approaches have there flaws....

Jailor is the coolest role in the game in my opinion. You can play it as a tp, and jail confirmed townies for their protection. You can play it as a tk, and kill only suspicious people. You can play it as a ti, and not kill anyone and only get their roles to confirm rts and find evils. It is just so versatile and just overall the most fun role in the game.
Jailor needs to be forceful because jailor is the most commanding role for town. Not even mayor has as much information gathering and ability to secure wins as a jailor does

Toir calling you a bad jailor is hilarious. He had a late claim, garbage will that didn't say anything, and he was competing with escort for last RT slot. Executing there was the right move because best case scenario is that he's evil and you get him out of the way. Worst case scenario is he's inno which proves the escort is actually consort and the spy is actually evil because their will is fake. Either way town gains substantial advantage.
I’ve played a ranked game where there was an invest claim, and he said someone was bg/gf/sheriff. That was an instant lynch, but it turns out he was actually invest (I even looked at the role list at the end to check). He cost us the game
You didn't give anywhere near enough details for anyone to judge what happened. Everyone thinks that they are "confirmed". For example was there other TI claims. Because at some point if fake wills as good then two people might claim a single TI spot. What that means is that there is a 50-50% chance the town can win if the jailor executes the right person, but 100% chance town loses if jailor does nothing. At some point jailor has to execute to confirm. As Skimm did in the game to a legitimate Invest. Jailor doesn't have time to jail everyone and "wait and see". Jailor has to act and sometimes they will be right and sometimes they will be wrong.
That is easy to explain. As jailor I often lynch sheriff claims that find sk a little too fast. It not uncommon for mafia to find an sk first and then claim they are sheriff and out the sk. Finding a sk does NOT confirm you as town. To be confirmed as Sheriff you have to find mafia. Everyone always thinks they are confirmed after you tell the town one tiny truth, when in reality you need more than you have to be confirmed.
Again that still doesn't help much. No one is going to say "player 5 is immune, so they are sk", because that raises the question of why did they attack player 5. instead they will say "N2: Player 5(sk), i'm Sheriff".

I do it because if I dont get anything from them then I execute them N2 no questions asked. Only way it doesnt work out is SK and even then you basically out the SK

Most people that bitch about elo are awful. I was once a doctor (confirmed), the other doctor had died and the only other two people alive were a vigi and a doc claim. The last evil was an sk. The doc claim had been silent and the vigi claim was sus. I ask the doc what their role was and they reply doctor. I push the lynch on them- we already have our tp, this guy is silent af and I figure the vigi is our last rt. Vigi claimed to have been trying to shoot an immune gf and we believed him. They don't defend on the stand, they just die. They turn out to have been legit and I die that night. I ask them afterwards why they didn't defend themselves or talk at at all and they go 'there was no point, you were like hue hue hue i cc tp hue hue, only in low elo'. He then called me terrible when he essentially got himself mislynched and then bitches about elo. Welcome to Salem...
Same here. The kid was really mean and toxic with me. All because I made the call that he was an evil role based on my information (I claimed inves early into the game and was confirmed by both the jailor and spy not long after) and presented my evidence to the town, got them on my side and had him pushed to be executed, and as I expected he was an evil role. In all honesty if he's just gonna act like that when ever someone kills him he shouldn't even be playing Town of Salem.
My placements are terrible. The game ones that I win are unsatisfying due to throws and misplays, and the ones that I lose have countless throws, like the one (me) asking for tp n1 dying n1, 2nd tp dying for mafioso’s protection, and gf leading town after jailor and I died

Okay, I was giving constructive criticism to help him out, I only watched the video one time, and I called out both mistakes while watching the video. I do not play Town of Salem and I notice the mistakes he made instantly. He may be concentrating too much on commentating, but that still is not an excuse to miss escort, consort, mayor. If you play the game and you did not notice that mistake and you had to go back and watch it you should be ashamed for real. Regarding the exe on invest, it was possible that you could've chosen the worse will, which was Reeeeee's. In addition, I think you missed that Seven asked you for a role in an earlier night. I think he quickly got that you were Jailor given that you were still asking for TP and that he had invested you already. When you were about to exe him, naturally, he wasn't too happy about it. But he didn't really say anything else after your explanation.
DesRa Seven doesn't matter, though. That's the problem with ToS, every player on a good role thinks their being alive is necessary in order to win. You take the death there because it draws a road map for Town (2 people are immediately 100% evil) while they unshakeably hold the majority. The invest's particular worth is inferior to the certainty of 2 evil in that situation. If there were a TI whose ability is "after night 3 reveal 2 evil but immediately die", they'd be overpowered. After that point, all that invedt could have done was identify the mafioso, and Town can do that on their own with Jailor + transporter + BG, all confirmed upon the arso death, who argued he "freestyled wills".
Exactly! People being afraid of dying annoys me so much because they make the worst plays because of it. When TP's don't cover Jailor because they think they're going to die so they self heal, when Vet's alert the first night because they're afraid of being attacked, or when people with "important" roles don't claim because they don't want to be attacked. It's a game you can play on facebook or steam :) its really fun once you play a few matches and start to get the hang of what the roles do! It's a very brain intensive game just from reading social cues and putting the pieces together to either kill everyone, or not die.

@@freddykrueger4326 Nah, the Invest results are always the exact same groups of 3, 'BG, GF, Arso' for example is always a set, and is how Skimm realized 3 was guilty. What Van Tran is pointing out is that Reee didn't type in the correct set, and so should have been exe'd immediately. The Invest results will always be the same sets of 3 for each game, if you play I highly recommend learning the sets, can help you call out a bad Invest claim!

Some people fail at this tactic but Skimm does this mainly to pressure them slightly, If they are a little slow he generally doesn’t exe. But I do agree some people do this way to fast. Though all approaches have there flaws....
If you don't exe purely based on slow role/will, then the 3,2,1 tactic is good. It makes evils make mistakes.

Jailor is the coolest role in the game in my opinion. You can play it as a tp, and jail confirmed townies for their protection. You can play it as a tk, and kill only suspicious people. You can play it as a ti, and not kill anyone and only get their roles to confirm rts and find evils. It is just so versatile and just overall the most fun role in the game.

Executing there was the right move because best case scenario is that he's evil and you get him out of the way. You didn't give anywhere near enough details for anyone to judge what happened. Everyone thinks that they are "confirmed". For example was there other TI claims. Because at some point if fake wills as good then two people might claim a single TI spot. What that means is that there is a 50-50% chance the town can win if the jailor executes the right person, but 100% chance town loses if jailor does nothing. At some point jailor has to execute to confirm. As Skimm did in the game to a legitimate Invest. Jailor doesn't have time to jail everyone and "wait and see". Jailor has to act and sometimes they will be right and sometimes they will be wrong.

That is easy to explain. As jailor I often lynch sheriff claims that find sk a little too fast. It not uncommon for mafia to find an sk first and then claim they are sheriff and out the sk. Finding a sk does NOT confirm you as town. To be confirmed as Sheriff you have to find mafia. Everyone always thinks they are confirmed after you tell the town one tiny truth, when in reality you need more than you have to be confirmed.

Again that still doesn't help much. No one is going to say "player 5 is immune, so they are sk", because that raises the question of why did they attack player 5. instead they will say "N2: Player 5(sk), i'm Sheriff".

The doc claim had been silent and the vigi claim was sus. I ask the doc what their role was and they reply doctor. I push the lynch on them- we already have our tp, this guy is silent af and I figure the vigi is our last rt. Vigi claimed to have been trying to shoot an immune gf and we believed him. They don't defend on the stand, they just die. They turn out to have been legit and I die that night. I ask them afterwards why they didn't defend themselves or talk at at all and they go 'there was no point, you were like hue hue hue i cc tp hue hue, only in low elo'. He then called me terrible when he essentially got himself mislynched and then bitches about elo. Welcome to Salem...

All because I made the call that he was an evil role based on my information (I claimed inves early into the game and was confirmed by both the jailor and spy not long after) and presented my evidence to the town, got them on my side and had him pushed to be executed, and as I expected he was an evil role.

My placements are terrible. The game ones that I win are unsatisfying due to throws and misplays, and the ones that I lose have countless throws, like the one (me) asking for tp n1 dying n1, 2nd tp dying for mafioso’s protection, and gf leading town after jailor and I died

So obviously you can see the misplays when you slow the video down, but skimm is playing. Reading and prossesing what's going on. You are simply reading... Even if you caught the play immediately, you were able to focus on that more the. Skimm. Not to mention you had to watch the full gameplay to see what was wrong with that play, skim had no reason to suspect it at the moment.
Okay, I was giving constructive criticism to help him out, I only watched the video one time, and I called out both mistakes while watching the video. I do not play Town of Salem and I notice the mistakes he made instantly. He may be concentrating too much on commentating, but that still is not an excuse to miss escort, consort, mayor. If you play the game and you did not notice that mistake and you had to go back and watch it you should be ashamed for real. Although to give the benefit of the doubt, I play mostly strategy games, so I pay more attention to everything, where as you may not.
