If you ever go to the Tyrol you can hear this music being played in mountain huts literally in the middle of no where...when you've skied or trekked through deep snow for hours and you come across some wooden hut, a fire in the hearth, good food being cooked and a warm welcome with music like this being played by lovely people...you know there is no where in the world you'd rather be. For me...it is the very best....the VERY best...

I love this music. It makes me think of clockwork that's been infused with spirit. If it continued on for an hour, I would wait around and listen to the entire thing and it would seem like only ten minutes had passed. Feels like the sound of cheerfully working away at something.
I do see what you mean Joe Long when you play the Smokey Rogers song of 1947. There are similarities for sure. Nor surprising in a way since a great deal of American culture eminated from Austria and Bavaria. Of all the zither and dulcimeter music played on youtube this is one of the very best and happily performed posts I have seen and heard. Greetings from England!
