I have several Aztec pipes they are made of stone and have the shape of an Aztec priests head now, I'm a smoker and not the chain type I only smoke in the evenings, not during the day the smoking rules are that you need to smoke outside everywhere and I'm not a fan of the cold and the wet so I stopped smoking during daytime well, back to the pipes I use one of them! the Aztec tobacco was similar to cigar tobacco only they marinated it what they did is that they made honey or fruit wine and re-humidified the tobacco with that fluid so, I cut cigars in thin strips and re-humidify with mead and then smoke that pipe they also mixed a local herb that's similar to rosemary so I use actual rosemary and its an interesting tasty experience I even let a non-smoker friend try a non-inhaling puff he said ''that's something I could get used to nice taste bro!'' that jaguar statue would have a similar mix of tobacco and herbs burning in that little dish the room it was in would smell like someone was cooking up something good!!
aaa! really?! that Jacques Cousteau picture is in my archive! I was nuts about him in my childhood and my sugar auntie arranged for me and Jacques to meet on the calypso in the mid 1980s and he signed this very picture I also got a handful of ancient Greek coins from Jaques he literally opened a drawer and grabbed a batch of coins and gave them to me! I still love my unrelated sugar auntie she's now nearly 80! she was/is one of those old-money families that can go everywhere and anywhere with connections everywhere Agatha Cristie style she couldn't get kids so she kinda adopted me instead and went traveling in my summer vacations between my age of 8 and 20 and we went everywhere are there other 12-year-olds that have been to Antarctica! or the north pole?! and pretty much every continent in between?! I'm done traveling I did all that between the ages of 8 and 20! I'm pretty happy as an internet couch traveler now and telling my stories to you guys!
I contacted the National Museum of the American Indian in NYC about the original translation book. I hope it is worthy of their collection. There are a lot of good items in this auction lot. If your son's painting of the cow is your favorite, you should keep it! I like it too😊
I love the "Tumi", the green ceremonial knife. I was so fortunate to see an Inca exhibit in Montreal in the late '80s. I am sure it will sell much higher than I can bid but I will try. Best of luck with the auction. I hope people realize the value of the ancient items. Hi from Sue in NB.

I don't trust museums. My mother donated a couple of rare military pieces to a military museum after my dad died. They schmoozed her to get them and they assured her they would be thrilled, happy, share with the public etc yadda yadda. We wanted to keep them in the family, but mom was losing it at the time and donated. Bastards just turned around and sold them to a collector for money.

I wish they wouldn’t put stickers on items. At least not where the left over sticky residue would show. Those types of stickers can leave a ugly sticker residue that can be tricky to get off.
17th-century books the more popular the title the more of them are around one of my side gigs is restoring antiquarian books using the minimal intervention method the book comes back looking as worn as it did when you gave me one difference however it is now no longer falling apart and it works like new it just looks old and decrepit. most other restorers of books will discard the old cover and approximate a cover that in my eyes just looks new with my work all the old stuff goes back or I use 300-year-old leather or parchment to make a new cover. to come back to the alexander the great books here in Europe not a chance for an auction bid over 100 euros well, here in Europe roman stuff is the real old stuff in Canada and the rest of North America 1890 is pretty old! so books like this do better on your side of the pond!
POW art is just great for my phonograph collection I'm still waiting on that POW made portable gramophone I know a lot of them made an Italian friend of mine who's also a Canadian of Italian descent his father was in a British POW camp and his father made an art deco portable gramophone and he's an antique phonograph collector so, his father made the perfect inheritance gift to him! he said to me that since none of his kids are interested that the machine will go to me when he dies (he's 75) I hope he sticks around for a long time I like friends better than stuff and we are just custodians of that stuff to keep safe for the next generation well, that's basically what collecting is! I do have trench-made gramophones one is made out of ammo box parts with filing cabinet handles the other is made out of Belgian military bread boxes both were made during WWI one plays one does not as artifacts and relics they are both priceless there's only one of each in existence!

I met Robin Williams in the Rijks museum in Amsterdam on the queens birthday celebrations on the 30th of April in the 1990s we were looking at a Karel Appel painting that was a mix of a pear and female genitals robin Williams looked at me and said I don't know if I should eat it or F###! it!! you know that feeling when laughter takes you over and your legs turn to rubber! that's what happened to us at that moment we were literally on the floor rolling about laughing! a one of a kind meeting with a great mind that left us way too soon. it was a double whammy that day because earlier I had coffee with Christopher lee that morning...
I just bought an bound year full of the dutch illustrated basically a copy of the London illustrated news it's a print of 1868 and there's a beautiful illustration of eng and chang the original Siamese twins I know that print alone is worth about $200 can, so I did a great job at just about $5 can in euros!

Does the auction house provide the back story on these items? It would be helpful. Also, I know the proceeds from this auction will help you get a new home and property. Will it have mother-in-law quarters? I think you mentioned wanting your Mom to live with you eventually.
UV light is good for healing and carbon arc lamps have lots of UV you can get really bad sunburn from it a real problem with theater workers of the day.

I got the South American el Nino red gold items and coins (eh, not at home folks it's useless to rob me!) from South American red gold. dinosaur footprints I have avian pterosaur footprints Han dynasty human figures and stacks of silver!
Melissa must be very worried about her husband’s health. He looks like he hasn’t slept in a week? Great show all around, but if he doesn’t take his foot off of the gas every so often, he’s going to keel over. Lack of sleep can kill a person indirectly.

But since dust affects him like that, they do have those specialty respirator masks with the replaceable filters that sit to either side of the nose. You look like something from outer space, but you don’t end up with respiratory issues afterwards. The little masks that we run around in to not catch Covid are NOT sufficient for the task. I don’t understand why he did the musicians house without that? He put himself and his workers at risk. Out here we’re have CalOsha and they have guidelines for safety and filtration equipment. Don’t know what Canada has but I’m sure they have an equivalent.
