It's so much fun watch different techniques, thinking, "why would you do it that way, it'll never work." Then seeing, "Well what do you know, it worked." Nice looking navy bird.
Fantastic work with interesting professional tips, which looks easy. Patience and skillful hands contribute to a marvelous classic Navy Skyraider bird !! Thanks for sharing.
That Skyraider kit with those markings are at least 40 years old.I am an Aussie modeler. In December 1982 I was live on the outskirts of Angeles.I had an American friend who was able to get me onto the base at Clark.I bought that kit and a 48th F100 at the PX cheap.About $US10 each. When I got home I met this guy who was a real artist and built both fantastic with oil stains weathering ect.My Skyraider is identical in markings but has no air brakes like in the video.I could never get to sleep. As 3 in the morning the Ruskies would send a TU95 to probe the defences and we would have a squadron of F15s Lift of directly over the the house. The only consession to it not be a real war was they would stay subsonic.Got scared one day and missed a fantastic photo. The Radio out of Clark was off the air and sky full of planes seeming to be headed to Vietnam.I was about to get on a bus but these C130s came over drop Paras. Releived it was an exercise I went to shoot them with a top of the line S.L.R. Used all my film and walking back 3 A10s passed in front of me ultra low and slow. One had his canopy open and seeing I was a white man he waved. I cursed not have any film left.Waved back of course. They must have flown in from Kadena. I never saw any A10s at Clark.
You been to Clark too? I was only about150 yards from the Kamikaze Shrine marking spot first ones took off to hit American carriers at Leyte Gulf. Been dozens of times past House that Admiral Onishi lived in at the time.@@ugurkenel
I love you are putting in the time with the pilot figure! As any aircraft sitting on the ground with every access door open, cockpit empty, gear down, is broken and down for maintenance, you are making a scenario for an airworthy bird ready to fly. Personally I don't even buy a kit if the pilot figure is not included. Jets, without a stationary engine off prop are less easily broken if they are build sans the gear down. I do most prop planes gear down however, but wish somebodu would make a realistic clear...ish spinning prop disk for the prop planes. I scratch built a 1/48 B-29 into a KB-50J (used alot of old C-130 pieces, B-25 engine faces, and sheet styrene) tanking 3 F-105's w/probe and droge, but the lake of spinning prop disks takes away much of the majesty..... Anyway, your "spad" turned out great. 1/48 is a great scale for aircraft. Wish they'd make a B-47 and C-119 in 1/48!!!!
Brilliant. Nice work, Ugur. Sometimes the addition of a well-detailed pilot figure adds much to a model. It really helps to demonstrate just how large the A-1 Skyraider was.
I totally agree that the figure is a very important part for a model airplane. But unfortunately, it is very difficult to find figures for every model. I wish figure production was much more and widespread.
Thank you very much! Yes i totally agree. I was on my mind during production but the pressure to finish the video as soon as possible got in the way. 😉👍
Comme d'habitude, une superbe mise en peinture. La modification de la figurine du pilote est superbe. Le "weathering" est magnifique. Belle réalisation...Félicitations. ~~ As usual, a superb painting. The modification of the pilot figure looks great. The weathering is magnificent. Great achievement...Congratulations.

Awesome model and paintjob!!! Ideas in my Mind when I watched the Process. Maybe less dusty bombs: but I get it... Weathering all the same pieces over and over is boring. The bee decal: maybe it would need some more scratches on the red stripe, as the model overall is heavily weathered. The exhaust sooth: its very sharp on the box art and on real photos. Maybe some masking tape on right after the hood could simulate a similar effect, and sharp edges could be softened up with some wash, oil sponge or so. But well i have yet to overcome my hesitation doing such a big model in one go.
Wow! Ugur that is outstanding.. I've picked up some brilliant tips along the way watching that.. Thanks for sharing and putting up the written explanations. Look forward to your work. 👍

That is extremely fantastic eork of this model. I have several to build including a 1/32 scale Korean war version early overalldark blue. Being average modeller i don't know how im going to weather a sea blue large scale model. But that Skyraider build is superb. Very realistically weathered Aircraft.👍
Many thanks🤝 Weathering on blue NAVY aircraft: If it were me, I would generally make it look metallic from underneath. In the form of a scrape of chipping.
@@ugurkenel From George. I haven't had the pleasure of building many Sea Blue finishes. Very hard to get a super gloss finish unless from a spray can. I also have the 1/32 scale TBM Avenger Aircraft with overall sea Blue. Not completed yet.I still have trouble with which bue to use. Usually it's sea Blue but there has been a mention of midnight blue and dark royal blue. However I understand about Metal chipping. The only weathering I've done over gloss Blue finish is the exhaust streaks with the Tamiya weathering kits. Sorry I babbled on too much . Thanks for reply.👍

I definitely thought about this during the construction phase. In many reference photos, I saw that the propellers were extremely clean, which was unique to this model, and there were only some scratches on the red and white stripes. Maybe it's because the material of the propellers is black metal or close to black.
I love your builds, but watching you put everything together with super glue kills me as I know your work would be so much better without it. You destroy so much detail trying to remove it and encourage fit issues. It definitely has its uses for attaching small parts.
You may be right, but it's my old habits. I always broke or cracked the models I made without using CA glue. I can't be sensitive when making models. I damage it all the time by sanding it or dropping it. That's why I prefer to use super glue. Since the model itself is plastic, it is easier for me to complete the lost details later.

Nice job! You’ve weathered it like it’s at the end of a 9 month deployment. A WestPac veteran. Well done.
Old planes with experience always attract my attention more. At this stage, it may be a little too much.
Many thanks! 🤝

The weathering looks good , the prop needs some weathering and chipping looks like it was installed yesterday, doesn't match the rest of the plane
Maybe a bit of story telling? A prop getting replaced while the rest of the aircraft is still crusty sounds believable.
