Marc Gasol is a top 3 center in the league, he does everything right at both ends of the floor. I can't really think of a more all-around center than Gasol, maybe Anthony Davis.
what because he doesn't have post moves?! Well guess what post moves are irrelevant in todays game. The best Centers are the ones most effective at rolling, rebounding and blocking shots and not hijacking offenses I.E......... DEANDREEEEEEEE
Yes you just helped my point. Embiid is great because he is an all around player amd doesnt have to sit in the post all day unlike a guy like Okafor whl isnt a good player despite his post moves since he cant rebound for defend. Thanks for helping my point food do ur research.
For once I agree with Shaq, no way is Deandre Jordan the best center in the league. Not even the best defensive big. He is good at catching lobs and rebounding but is very limited in other areas.
TRE4RERE Rudy Gobert, Hasan Whiteside, Andrew Bogut, and Duncan until he retired were in the same league and even better in certain areas defensively, although Deandre is a better rebounder than all except maybe whiteside. But if he didnt have elite playmakers like paul and griffin creating huge lanes for him to catch alley oops he would be looked at more like tyson chandler than the best center in the league.
NatCrossdale clips4evaeva what numbers exactly? He is not leading in any defensive statistical category. Not rebounds, not blocks, not steals, not defensive rating not defensive win shares, not defensive plus-minus. He is shooting an impressive 52 percent in free throws though.
If Deandre isn't dunking, he can't score. I feel like in order to be the best center, or even big man, in the league, you have to be a threat at both ends of the floor. Which cases can be made that Deandre is not
he is the most overrated center in the game, without CP3 he is useless cant create his own thing ,I would love to see him play with the mavs lol he would be exposed
The Star thats why he's with the clippers, cause of how he works with the system don't discredit him hes doing amazing in his system so why say "if he was on this team" thats just being a hater
Joshua Contreras he is great for their system and a very good defender ,i just dont like when someone says he is the best center in the league ,he is nowhere near the elite centers
TRE4RERE Ya exactly ... ppl r keep talking abt players r soft nowadays... but they just don't get it that it's harder to defend without fouling & score without being too physical ...so that's a strong point thr
@@Nooqd imagine shaq guarding curry on a switch. Thats why theres no real big guys anymore they cant defend the pick and roll. The ones that can are unicorns.
Best C in the league is Marc Gasol. Back to the basket, mid range, can shoot 3s, defensive anchor, excellent passer, coachable and can transition to any coaching system. Just cause he's not putting up monster numbers or highlights doesn't mean he's not the best atm.
Best Centers 1. DeMarcus Cousins ( although he can play the 4) - just wish he would check his emotions more 2. Karl Anthony Towns ( another guy who can play the 4)- amazing player at a young age 3. Joel Embiid ( reminds me of Hakeem the dream) 4. Marc Gasol ( Memphis to me isn't the same team without him) 5. Andre Drummond 6. Hassan Whiteside 7. Dwight Howard 8. DeAndre Jordan 9. Al Horford ( although another guy who can play the 4) 10. Brook Lopez No way though is DeAndre Jordan the best center in the NBA, i do have him in my top 10. I didn't put Anthony Davis because to me he is a PF as his main position.
We really forgot someone who is probably the best in his team: Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets. I acknowledge he isn’t great on defense, but he strongly makes up for that by his superior offense
What about Jokic? He is very talented and nobody talks about him like... :D Marc is definitly underated and Spurs players because they play like team and not like individuals
To me it comes down to what position these guys are actually playing. Pretty sure someone like Cousins plays the majority of his minutes at the 5, while someone like Davis plays the majority at the 4. Today with 4's and 5's being more interchangeable than in the past, the better phrasing would be, "Who's the best Big" not just center. But for true centers I'd have to go with: Cousins, Jordan, Towns (I know in this video at least 1 person said he was a 4, but I think of him as a 5), Whiteside, M Gasol. That would be my top 5. But if Embiid can stay healthy, keep progressing and eventually play full minutes and both back to back sets, his potential is crazy. The stats he is putting up in limited minutes is something I've never personally seen before. I'm also excited to see the continued development of guys like Valanciunas, Porzingis, Myles Turner, Dieng, Gobert, Adams, Nurkic etc.
You know . People can call the "true big men" just all old talk but I, as many other people: are getting plain tired of these 3 shot. I mean I want to see young fellas get physically in the post and dominate down low and get easy shots. That's what basketball is. Hopefully young generation centers take notice of that and base there game around the post again.
No, he's a shooting guard. The Rockets have just been trying him out at the point guard position to see how he does, which is well. But still, he is and always have been a 2 guard
PG is Westbrook huh? He's doing a lot for that team for sure. But man, Curry has a bad shooting night in the Finals and now everyone is hating on him. Westbrook Shooting: FG: 42.6% 3pt: 33.6% Curry: FG: 48.8% 3pt: 41.4% Now I know that Westbrook is KILLING it right now. He's got double the assists and more than double the rebounds. So he's doing a lot for that team, I get it. But eventually, you have to put the ball through that hoop. Curry is just a lot more efficient on offense. Westbrook also has double the turnovers Curry does. OKC is just playing him a lot, maybe too much, because if they don't ride him they don't even win as many games as they are winning. I also realize that Curry is on a much better team than Westbrook. I get that too. But if you ask me, right now, if I'd prefer to start a team with Curry or Westbrook, I'm picking Curry. Why? Because the rules in today's NBA favor Curry. Curry spreads the floor in a way that Westbrook does not. The ball sticks with Westbrook a little more. It's harder to build a team around Curry. But don't take it from me. KD thinks so too.
Qichar It probably costs a lot less to build around Westbrook. That's a guy who genuinely doesn't need another ball dominant player around. Give him one 2 way forward or skilled big (Draymond or Blake) with players that appropriately fill their roles and they'd be perennial contenders. He and KD are ball dominant players which unfortunately gave them a glass ceiling so to speak when there was no Harden to distribute. Curry with a similar roster would be very comparable to Lillard. Great but doesn't impact the game as much as Russ. I'll take Russ everyday.

bingwa he's arguably still in his prime considering age doesn't really affect his game but if you get one injury as a guy that's not in the spotlight, people seem to forget about you fast af
Simon you're spot on but I feel these guys overlook the things he does well, memphis are usually good team rebounders, it doesn't mean marcs not boxing out or anything just cos he's not stat chasing like westbrook. And considering he shoots more like a guard in his shot selection I don't hold his shooting percentage too harshly against him, I mean, shaqs arguing boogie but his TS% is only 56% if we're comparing this season, but for their careers it's actually Marc who shoots 56% and cousin's shooting 53%, granted boogie scores more. But you're probably spot on with "why" even though that might be giving too much credit to why they don't mention him, tbh I think a great deal of it is that he's still viewed as pretty "foreign" and doesn't do many interviews etc, he's not one to be in the lime light, bit like duncan in that regard. But if I want a center to make me much better on BOTH ends of the floor, I'll choose gasol.
Mark has the wrong skin colour and not enough "thuggery" for this politically correct POS segment which is Area 21 to be included in the discussion of best big man.
Lol this was a great segment. On the real though Davis or Kat is the best big in the league. Cousins is great but as Kenny was saying, even with a bad team you have to eventually get to the playoffs and he hasn't been there yet and was drafted 6 years ago
It's very sad that Marc is not in the conversation just because he's from Spain. Always felt that these guys forget about foreign players. It's a fact now. Marc is the best at the moment.
I think Marc is great and Marc is way better than DeAndre Jordan could ever dream of being. IF you put DeAndre jordan on a average team his numbers would drop.. I don't think Marc is better than Cousins. Cousins may have an attitude problem but he is a beast and can do it all.
Nano Alfonso he's not because he's not the best in the league , he's above average but not a great defender or score but he's good maybe a couple years ago
+Chris Carter He's a great defender, he's been anchoring the Grizzlies defense for years, where have you been? Not a great scorer? That's why he leads the nba in post ups and his midrange and 3pt shot has become lethal. And I don't even want to start with his clutch moments.
Embiid is the best on both ends of the court. I will give credit to KAT(arguably also number 1) Cousins and AD. But Embiid is playing on minutes restriction. His stats per 36 minutes are amazing. With him off the floor the sixers have the worst defense, with him on the sixers have the best defense. His impact is significant. Once he gets off of this minute restriction you'll see him put up 20+ ppg, at least 10 boards and 2-3 blocks and a steal a game.
The Star yea he is , sometimes he looks like the best all around and others like the recent one he scores 1 point in a half...he should be more aggressive. Like Embidd, hes so much more ineffecient but he just keeps calling for the ball lol
The Star You're right about the FT's but we all know he shoots like 66% because he's playing with CP3 if he would have went to Dallas we would have seen all the holes in his offence.
There will come a time when Jokic is gonna be in these talks.
+Luka Radulović Jokic gotta improve on his defense though.
Are you a time traver sir?

Shaq is very vocal and passionate about discussing centers or big men.
Only thing he takes seriously.
Amongst so many other things.
Last true back-to-the-basket spending his time in the low post big man in the league.
I must have been high when I made this comment lol
@pius222 Andrew Bynum was I think the last true big man that played in the paint. No jacking up threes for Bynum.
The real question is why is Marc Gasol not in this conversation? Honestly he's so incredibly underrated.
hes white lol
Marc Gasol is a top 3 center in the league, he does everything right at both ends of the floor. I can't really think of a more all-around center than Gasol, maybe Anthony Davis.

Rudy Gobert has been killin it this year. Anyone else notice that he is a top 5 Center rn
dvon1097 guys rim defence is insane. He has had some clutch blocks

With him off the floor the sixers have the worst defense, with him on the sixers have the best defense. His impact is significant. Once he gets off of this minute restriction you'll see him put up 20+ ppg, at least 10 boards and 2-3 blocks and a steal a game.
Marc Gasol
sir Charles trolling kg hard
Boogie #1 White Side #2
The NBA Times towns is better than white side
Unknown Bangers doesn't mean he can't be better than white side at least he has skills on the offensive end
kawhi lennad no town is not
The NBA Times whiteside is one word and he is no where near the best he can block and dunk that is all, boogie runs the offence
The NBA Times joel and kat are better than whiteside
Demarcus, and then Valanciunas.
How do you put valuncinuis over Andre Drummond or tristen Thompson?
lol what
P Dun lol we can talk once the free throws are going in
Tristan thompson? lol what? Valancuinas is definitely better than thompson
I mean, bill, wilt, and shaq free throws didn't go in
Just my opinion Rasheed Wallace is the best big post up player ever.
What?
Gobert #1 in FG%, #1 in EFG%, #1 in blocks, #1 in rim protection. Not even mentioned in this conversation?
He'll get more recognition when we hit the playoffs or if he miraculously makes the All-star team
Jokic is the best center
Steven Adams, he is not taking 3's, but what about Andre Drummond?
How can they not mention these guys and Whiteside, Valenciunis.
Dolu Marc gasol is a very good centre as well
Keifer Janz Marc and Brook Lopez are taking more 3's than a Center should, usually
Gabriel2311 He will get it done usually, if he's not hurt. He's surprisingly good.
Ain’t none of these dudes the best center anymore lol
Kevin Garnetts thumbs are longer than my fingers.
That man schleep
Boogie=Best Offense DJ=Best Defense
Lmao KG funny as hell.
so no is going to mention anything about KG roasting Sir Charles
What about Marc Gasol?, he should be in the conversation at least
Nikola JOKIC ! Dovidjenja i prijatno... * SRB
1.Cousins
2.Whiteside
3.Brook Lopez
AD is a power forward
Anthony Oo yep.he is also adding a 3 point shot ,I think he is the best low post scoring center in the game
The Star yea he is , sometimes he looks like the best all around and others like the recent one he scores 1 point in a half...he should be more aggressive. Like Embidd, hes so much more ineffecient but he just keeps calling for the ball lol
Drummond too.
The Star You're right about the FT's but we all know he shoots like 66% because he's playing with CP3 if he would have went to Dallas we would have seen all the holes in his offence.
