Recorded at the 2019 Mid Atlantic Dance Jam. MADjam is the largest West Coast Swing party (and competition) in the world. It features NASDE and WSDC contests for amateurs and professionals, dozens of workshops and amazing social dancing that brings over 1500 dancers together from around the world on the first weekend in March. Hi I’m new here & gotta know: these are pro swing dancers? How do they go pro? Sponsors and prizes ? Do they get rich or is it like rodeo pros where .01% hit the real money?

These 2 are both pros at the top level in the competitive West Coast Swing world. The dance "pros" who earn the most make more teaching and judging than from winning prize money. There is no consistent, official "Pro" status. Most earn credibility as experts through a combination of winning contests and coaching other successful competitors. There are also many professional dance teachers who no longer compete.
