My high school is nationally ranked for lacrosse and plays boys Latin every year. I remember watching this dude slay us
I could see him being a summer league look. Of course that's if summer league is still on this year. Big if. Most likely he's playing in the PLL while finishing up his Master's at Northwestern. He'll be fine.

I played both sports and the parallel between the two is very apparent when you play both for a couple years.
I played box lacrosse and that's how I'd pitch the game to my friends. It's kind of like basketball with sticks, goalies and violence

I was MVP of the track team at both Marist and Siena. And, at both schools, when I played basketball in the gym I was mistaken for a basketball player. Which was crazy to me. I never even tried out in high school. I never, for a second, even considered trying out in college. But I used to play 5-10 hours per day every summer, to alleviate boredom. That somehow translated into looking like a basketball player. Plus my shot was on. In grade school I won the Knights of Columbus foul shooting contest four years in a row. Add to that, that I could dribble faster than most people could run, and that I could dunk, and I guess it looked something like a basketball player. But I'm sure I would've failed, if I attempted to try out for the team. I was short. I don't know any of the plays or skills. To me basketball was just getting open and putting the ball in the hoop. My kids play now. They are much better than me, and much taller, and they have good coaches. Maybe they will play. We'll see.

Truth to fact - I grew up on and and went to Cuse - played LX and FB thru HS and played at SU… spent lots of time on the Onondaga Nation, watching the box lacrosse games, pick up and organized… Chief Oren Lyons played goalie at Cuse w/ Jimmy Brown, way back before I was born, but the sport has been part of their Iroquois Nation since time immemorial

D1 is waaaay harder to get into like you think your chances of going in a d1 program is very low it would be like winning a car from a raffle

Yeah he’s great, but best player ever is a stretch. Lyle Thompson, Powell brothers, Connor Fields... he’s up there but not the best ever. And for anyone that says Spencer was better than Fields because he had better stats, Fields missed a ton of time his senior year and played most of the year with a Torn ACL, still reached 200 goals

Lacrosse doesn’t have as solidified of a pro system and for a lot of players the highest level they can play financially is college. That being said, there are many other notable players who have dominated college and pro’s who have a claim for the GOAT of lacrosse (Paul Rabil, Gait’s, Lyle Thompson, Powell’s). Also with the emergence of the Premier Lacrosse League last year, hopefully we will see a shift as the PLL supports players much more reasonably financially.
I love pat spencer but only people with the last name Powell can be considered the best
