When I do ceiling repairs I just cut out the spot. There is really no need to scrap the popcorn if you're cutting it out anyway. But I do scrap the sides/edges for a blend in When I shoot fresh texture.
just curious, what do you mean by make it level? I have a crack/peeling exactly like this guys, but if there is an easier way, id love to know! thanks!
@@bjw90They are mistaken. It isn’t a 15-minute job, even with 5-minute mud. Ultimately, it is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the ceiling is flat, and with large downward dents like that (caused by a foot through the ceiling, for example), it will never be flat without a new drywall patch. The edges of the drywall need to be taped and built out with joint compound to look uniform with the rest of the ceiling before texture can be applied. This is textbook.

omg! you must be joking,.no need for any patches make it level. and put some spray on it. this is a 15 min job.
