THey showed a clip of this win when mentioning PYL(when Peter appeared on Oprah in May 1996 to talk about GSN briefly, Press your Luck wasn't mentioned at all)
Gene Snyder reunited with Peter Tomarken when he appeared (minus mustache) on the game show Wipeout (1988), with Tomarken hosting. Peter, unfortunately, made no references to Gene's Press Your Luck run. Gene didn't fare so well either on Wipeout, winning $325, and losing in the second round.
@@Modano1973 serveral PYL alumni appeared on Wipeout. Peter never mentioned them on PYL either. The closest he came to a PYL reference was on an early episode when a Wipeout was hit, he said "Whammy" instead of "Wipeout"

Why was the specific amount of money that Gene desired "eighty-thousand dollars"? Did he need that much money in particular to get out of debt or something? He sure raved like an egotistical lunatic about "EIGHTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!" And I thought Michael Larson was cocky! ~Dutch
Nancy should've passed the last spin. I'm not saying it just because she hit a whammy but the odds of Gene hitting more than $2400 without getting an additional spin was unlikely as the only cash spaces without a spin over that were the $2500 squares.
also don't forget that there are 14 panels out of 54 that gave money plus an additional spin. The thing I liked about this game was they gave people a chance if they were behind.
