It has now become apparent that those people who have been using our identity have a lot of contempt for us (see Myron) and entitlement to our culture (see Jamaicans and PR). They feel so entitled they have started to claim it for themselves while telling us we dont have any culture. We are now setting boundaries and gatekeeping our identity from outsiders which is why you are starting to see a lot of FBA/ADOS revoking your ‘black’ card. It is not only an ethnicity but it is a legal classification for us. No one is Black outside of ADOS/FBA. If you ONLY identify Blackness as a skin color when no one is actually Black (the color because we are mostly brown and some lighter) then you are not Black.
