YEEEAH! A new video, sweet, we love them, they are the best on YT! I have actually learned things, you a to the point, super calm and talk in a manner that even a beginner can understand. We are looking to take your entire online course =)
Thanks for this, it helps! I noticed you sometimes use white noise to "simulate" background instruments. Does it help the ears to isolate and focus on the tone without getting confused with the harmony, overtones etc.? I'm really curious. I imagine someone playing a violin under a waterfall :D
Thanks Joël for sharing knowledge, it really helps me getting better with my mixes. I have a question. For trailer cues, Do you think it's worth it to apply just a small compression ( about 1db) on the strings BUS and brass BUS just to glue them together and help them to be more front/ controlled "in your face" or for a trailer track you stick to dynamic Q only for each instruments to control fondamental harmonics?

Awsome ^_^ You're welcome. Well I personally don't do that anymore. I glue things with my master compression and it breathes better this way especially if there are drums in the track.
Hey everyone ! I hope you enjoyed this tip. If you want to learn more, Please check the description :)
The ensemble / solo trick is very useful. Simple, yet I never thought about it that way.
Ah if it isn't my favourite channel 💕 thank you always for the helpful videos

man, you're the best teacher out there! And trust me, I have tons of hours watched. Thanks :)
This is a great Joel. I think it's so important to know when not to use compression, especially when use samples! Great vid.
Amazing video and série, Merci ;)
Thanks for talking about this. I just hate it when you get the blanket "don't do this" with no explanations! Excellent video! :)
Great lesson, thank you!
Thank you very much Joël!!!

Conclusion: "Mwoah Mwhoah, Mhoah!" =)

1. Use compression for solo instrument/drums
