The fore and aft position of the unit will be critically important. I guess trial and error is the only way to get it right, but they should’ve addressed that.
People complaining about the price need to do some research. An X-Cat rower will cost you double. Also, if you just buy the row kit and purchase a used SUP, like we did, then it's not too much. I don't see anyone recommending an alternative. Real rowers/sculling boats are much more.
True, the price of the rowing boat is just incomparably higher. The rig is pricy, but that's the price of the good bicycle. So it is pricy but not overly so. And especially there is not much alternative to it, with the quality in place.
This would be perfect, if anyone could find a way to rationally justify the price. If anyone knows of a comparable affordable product please let me know.
The 13’ 4” inflatable SUP board weighs 31.4 lbs. The oar board sliding rigger unit weighs 35 lbs, and can be easily transported in two pieces. Customers love the independence and freedom they experience transporting, launching, rowing and storing the equipment. www.oarboard.com/product/adventure-row-sup-13-4-combo-package/
We make the riggers out of corrosion resistant anodized aluminum. The pins and screws are made of high quality stainless steel. We’ve reduced the metal components wherever possible and have designed the unit to last for many years in both saltwater and freshwater.
@@Whitehallrow if your pricing is because of your manufacturing, then you should seek other quotes. Pm me if you are interested in quotes from overseas factories.
This unit is designed to fit on top of an SUP. The riggers are not the right shape and the Oar Board carriage is too shallow to fit in a canoe. So, the answer is no. The Oar Board unit is not designed to work in a canoe.
The price point is outrageous. Good luck to this company.
Ha ha … this is not a toy! now rowing in 62 countries! 〰〰🚣♀️〰〰
Do you need to use a fin on the board?
This is so easy to do! It's just great!

What is the minimum length of the SUP, that could allow for stable rowing experience?
Very seriously considering this, but please, no flat head bolts
Now if you could convert the mechanism for in-home use.
takes just a foot or so of water … 😜
Excelente equipamento.

I was so interested in this, until I saw the price :(
Hi grave420hardcore, The cost of manufacturing brings it to the current price. But the Oar Board is still half the price of a standard racing shell.
No doubt about that, this is way more portable. The price is decent, but for my country's standards its expensive. Good luck with your product :)
Thank you grave420hardcore, all the best to you too.
