The administration of Captain Ibrahim Traore has announced that national consultations will be held at the end of this month to determine the next steps in the country's transition to civilian rule. The military government, which has ruled Burkina Faso for more than a year, is about to come to an end. Recall that Traore pledged to assist a transition that would end in elections in July 20 24 when he first assumed office on September 22, 2022, and was named interim president of Burkina Faso in October of the same year.
Following a press announcement read on national television and signed by Minister of Territorial Administration Emile Zerbo, national meetings have been scheduled for Ouagadougou on May 25 and 26. As per the October 14th, 2022 Charter, representatives of the country's active forces will be allowed to discuss the next actions that need to be taken in the transition, which will last until July 1st, 2024, during these meetings.

David Ramirez, the Sahel is producing a lot of wonderful leaders. They need to gradually consolidate themselves , then bring in the Anglophone West Africans, and eventually the rest. Meanwhile, they also need to work with BRICS. While the West is struggling to find leaders, good leadership is popping up everywhere.

I am from Burkina Faso, we dont need elections. We need a president that will reduce government spending in order to build factories, schools , hospitals and a strong army.
We are tired of governments who live lavishly while the population suffers. We no longer need IMF loans with strings attached. We are all set. The elction money can be used to build what we need. Our president will be in power for 10 years minimum.

@@annarosenbaumkennedy No we will not let him step down.
Again elections campaigns are a thing of Western culture. In Africa when we agree with the leadership of a person especially in times of war we do not need elections campaigns or elections. Before him we did not even have weapons and ammunition for our army. He broke ties with the West and went with Russia who provided weapons that the west wouldn't.
He gave our army a chance to fight terror. Additionally he reduced corruption in the country and even with the state of terror he is building factories , roads and hospitals that the previous leaders did not care to build in times of peace. The reality is that before we can place an order with any country we need the approval of the french government. France does not want their colonies to industrialize that is why we are underdeveloped.
With Russia we will soon have a nuclear power plant by 2030. All France and the US know is to lend us money we cannot pay back through the IMF and then turn around and exploit our resources.
The time of easy exploitation if Africa is over ,the Next 10 years will be the beginning of a new economy for us.
Again we do need elections. The money spent on election campaign can be used to build factories, roads and hospitals.

No outsiders should dictate what kind of democracy to adopt. Burkinabe people spoke and said they don’t want civilian corrupt ridden, western puppet government. They’re ok with Ibrahim Traore who have their interests at heart. One advantage of military government especially ruled by a visionary leader like Thomas Sankara or his reincarnate Ibrahim Traore is that military governments rule through decrees, when they say they’re building infrastructures , there’s no debate unlike western multi party politics of push and pull in the name of democracy and that’s where corruption comes in , public money is used to bribe so bills can go through, useless western democracies!!!!!!!!

With the election money we can build factories , schools and training centers.

Convening such a consultative forum, confirms that this man is very wise and alert. Let him organise elections and also make himself available for the ballot. He is locally popular and would win in a landslide. This will get him the civilian mandate necessary to validate his presidency globally.

United Africa forever. France is still a threat, because a minuite after he stepped down, France will step in by some back-door provision, and will be harder to dislodge. Captain Abrahheim has demonstrated he has the country's interest. So stay in power by becoming its next president.
