Fear Factory - Archetype [drum cover]

I’ve always wanted to do a drum cover since I’ve started playing. I watch other drummers play on YT just for fun. I became a huge fan of Meytal Cohen, Luke Holland, Cobus and lots of other amazing and inspiring drummers. I’ve learnt many songs for band auditions, covers with friends and as well because I’ve wanted to play songs that I love. There had been a few attempts at recording my videos (by peers with better phones and even a studio) but in the end I never had the courage to upload any on UA-cam. I was afraid of judgement and what my classmates or family could have said. I also wanted my vid to be perfect and I feel like I have to show everyone how amazingly skilled I am.
Recently my roommate told me something that has made me change my mind. He said: “if you want to do music, you must allow yourself to be imperfect in the beginning. Otherwise you never start.”
Sooooo...
I’ve done it! It is indeed imperfect but it’s a start. We shot this drum cover late at night and I also got camera shy so I f*cked up a couple of times... but it’s ok. Next time I’ll do it better and better. I just needed to make this step or I would have never started. There is always room to learn something new and improve but you have to try.
