I just finished “ all the light we can’t see “ book it’s enchanted city that Anthony Doerr has chosen it for his novel I’m glad that I got to know this beautiful city !
My father fought with the 83 Infantry Division, 329th Regiment in the liberation of St. Malo from the German Army in August 1944. He was a young infantry LT. They had come through Omaha Beach D-Dat + 13 days, fought their way out of the hedgerows and headed West with a stop in St. Malo. Eventually the 83dr Division made it all the way to Berlin. I will travel to St. Malo to honor my father.
Thank you! We were playing St. Malo the board game. It is interesting to learn about its history and see Saint Malo today! The game has walls around the city and this video shows how prominent they really are!
So many memories! Love St Malo. We visited in 2017 spending 6 weeks in France. This was in our top 3 places in all of France, and that is saying something. There are so many magnificent places. Plus visiting Jean-Yves Bordier's butter store. Amazing man and an amazing place. Hope to get back soon. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Peter , Need some advice I will be going on holiday to Jersey in a few weeks and I was thinking of doing a day trip from St Helier, should I do a day trip on the Ferry to Saint Malo or to Guernsey which would you recommend? Thanks 👍 David
Hi, The traveler is looking for a ferry day trip on his own. But I advise you a little: if you go there and back, look at the return ferry timetables on the internet. And your day will be extended, spend a night at the hotel.
