yk if you… payed attention??? you’d know that youtube dislikes were disabled throughout the ENTIRE platform 💀 like it’s been like this for at least a year. Plus the comics DO suck. It’s repetitive and overly edgy just to be edgy with little to no depth written by a guy who dislikes hero’s so much that he made it his whole personality.

I remember a similar show titled Powers I highly recommend it. It's about about cops in a superhero world where they investigate Super Heroes. I wonder if The Boys comic inspired it or if any of the writers went over to The Boys TV show. It even has the actress for Sister Sage in it.
I liked this video! I would have enjoyed hearing you expand on the topic more and give more examples of the diferences, even do comparisions of different scenes from the comic book verus the show, though!
The Boys comics is very UNFAIRLY lambasted. Don't get me wrong, the show is definitely better and more streamlined storyline, so it feels like an actual series, rather then random events pulled together. But it's still great. The Boys themselves are amaing characters, especially Butcher and Hughie. Homelander is great. The evil of Vought is downright chilling, and Stillwell is fantastic villain. The only characters the show did 100% better were female characters (go figure LOL) and members of The Seven. And I don't know if anyone noticed, but I love a lot of subtle parodies of superhero comics, that go beyond "this character is fucked up version of that character". F.e. The Boys comics really has very few epic battles, and even the final fight between Noir and Homelander is offscreened. This is basicly giant middle finger to superhero comics that had long drawn out fights between various heroes and villains. Another one I can think of is great use of comics tropes. F.e. evil doppleganger of the main hero (in this case Black Noir to Homelander) is usually a throwaway plot in any comicbook series, and last barely few issues. Here? It's used in a very clever way, and is basicly the catalyst behind the entire conflict of the seires.

if you think the boys comic didn't have in depth character writing? you didn't read the boys... sorry but the comic has a lot more in depth character writing than the show. for example: the constant two faced nature that butcher uses to manipulate people he cares about so that they do what he thinks is better for them, or the way homelander slowly grows into a horrible person because of how other people treated him (even though the reason they treated him that way was because of black noir) Hughie is also a character that constantly challenges butcher to be a better person because of how he sees the good in supes even when butcher only sees them as horrible monsters (and I could get into MM, frenchie, the woman and a lot of other characters but I don't want to write an essay for a 3 minute video)

You won't find a much bigger hater of the man and his body of work than me. I think he might honestly be the most overrated name in comics. That being said when Preacher was at its best it's easily the best writing he's ever done, and I'll even go as far as to say something truly special at those times.
