It was a partly true story. Based on a few truths. The chainsaw guy real name was , Ed Gaines. He killed during the 50. He had cut up bodies in his house. Yes!! He did this. No one could be recognized. The bodies sawed up. No cop could do an accurate account of how many people killed? Only one person recognized was the town cop's mom! She was hanging dead. It hurt the town . Ed was a regular visitor of were she worked.A customer...is what he was. She was kidnapped. Missing one day She had not decayed yet That was the only one conviction Ed Gaines and his brother both was mental The mom too! It was a family of 3 Ed Gaines brother body was found dead.. They don't know if Ed did it? Yes, he was skinning of people faces. Don't know if he wore the faces?.But he stole Jewelues off dead bodies in the graves. So that part of digging up graves wss true. So this is not a laughing matter, people. The family of 3 was crazy Ed Gaines mom was filthy , mean and sadistic!! No one thought they were killers!! They just thought they were off. The entire town cried. They let Ed keep their kids!!!!
