I filmed this great layout at the South Notts show last year. It made the No.2 spot on my top 10 N gauge exhibition layouts which i filmed in 2024. There are some really impressive scratch built locos on the layout which i've not seen modelled before
Quite apart from the humorous touches, this is a beautifully crafted layout in which the railway seems to have been added to the scenery rather than the other way round! The tunnel entrances cleverly disguise the sharp curves to the fiddle yard. It also demonstrates the advantages of N gauge in creating a vista within a tight space. Thank you for sharing it. Chris

Nice to see the train of ducks was being hauled by another duck Mallard. There was an N gauge exhibition layout many years ago and they had scratch built diesels too.
Oh wow, LMS late 1930s experimental diesel train. Thats a rareity! As for the other trains, er, um, maybe its just as well that the Hogwarts Express travels over lines which do not have overhead electrification, and it is great that the people behind this layout managed to get all their ducks & ducklings in a row.
This a brilliant layout and the team are very engaging every time we have met. They have modelled some exceptional and rare beasts and as you suggest, all this a sense of humour! Catch it when you can!
They are very good at keeping the crowd entertained, you can see from the first shot how regularly they run trains. And to be able to have fun with it all is a great quality in my opinion. Thanks for watching 😃
1:53 this is a Harry Potter reference!! It’s the Hogwarts Express and it’s referencing the second book when Harry Potter and Ron Weasley missed the train to school and took Ron’s father’s flying car to make it to school! 😊

Nice. As someone who is in process of "planning" my first model railroad (N scale of course)...I must consider things like Duck trains (Quack) or importing Harry/Ron for an occasional fly around (maybe I should just do Snoopy and the Red Baron)

Hi That Model Railway Guy, Maybe I'm missing something because I'm on the other side of the pond from you, but the white duck and the yellow ducks are all facing forward, but the red duck is facing in reverse, why? I've heard the old saying "All of your ducks in a row" but what is the significance of the White duck and the Red duck facing toward the rear of the train? Cheers, Rich S.

This was one of my layout picks from NFRM, had a good chat with the operators as well. They missed a trick not naming it 'Bur-duck'!
Loved the layout, very detailed. The ducks and especially the Harry Potter theme with the flying car was great fun.
