I got pinched hard by a blue crab this past week (first time ever). I was teaching some new friends that moved to Florida the difference between male and female crabs (via the apron). I got nailed. They learned 2 lessons... and so did I, that hurt.

Please endeavor to practice sustainable harvesting. When you take both claws, it's a death sentence for the crab. Remove one claw and return the crab to the water. It's missing claw will regenerate. The good claw is enough to keep it alive until then. You should know this!!!

Start using a knife to stick in the first joint and wiggle around the crab will release it's claw without taking the chance of killing the crab. Just a word of advice.

Just discovered you. I also love the way you go all in regarding catch prepare and eat all kind of seafood. Little surprised you do not use the crab body when it also contains a lot of goodies. Very educational for me liking seafood with new inputs on how to prepare and eat what's provided in the sea. Pity underwater hunting is not allowed in Sweden. You diving in the sea and we stil have almost one yard of snow up here. 😀☃️🐐🐣👍
