My wife had an A53. I gave her my S23U and I got the S24U mainly because of the flat screen. I love my S24U, especially the anti-reflective screen but I can't say anything bad about the S23U. Great phone. I highly recommend it for those who want to save some money.
I have two S23 ultras, 8 and 12GB. I had a S22 ultra 12GB before and returned it cause the battery life (exynos) and the huge curve were just not for me. Barely 7h SOT was pushing it in 1 day. S23u, both 8 and 12GB versions, after over 400 charges, give me minimum 10h SOT in 1 day, 7-8h sot over entire weekend. I'm a heavy user, except gaming. Browsing, UA-cam, X, reddit (cringe i know), for hours every day. My top SOT was 11h 13 min one time. This depends on your settings and apps, but 10h is something the S23u does easy. And we are talking 1440p 120hz enabled. Friend has S24+, and let me tell you, if you think oled 120hz is the same for every phone, you are wrong. The s24+ oled looked like an expensive IPS compared to the S23U. More like a decently priced poco F6 or X6 pro. Speakers sound so good, so far only the S24u, sony 1 V quad speakers, some foldable, and ip16pm sounded somewhat better. S21u was so good, s22u was disappointment, S23uis what the S22u was supposed to be honestly. Glad they ditched the note, cause this is the note, but with 100% focus and made best of both worlds.
Yeah same, I want to get the S23u but I might wait until the S25u and see if the S24u price drops significantly. I am comming from the S9, a very old phone ngl
I think the camera samples look better from the s23. I love my s23 and it's my daily driver! I won't be replacing it until Samsung FINALLY comes out with a full screen phone with an under display selfie cam.
After the huge fail with the entire S22 line, especially the exynos S22U, when the S23U came, people ignored the fact it looks almost identical, cause soon enough every tech youtuber realized what a beast it really is. S21um was also good. I had them all. S23u is basically S22u with better screen curves, colors, battery, speakers etc.. Actually, if I remember correctly, the S22U speakers sounded worse than a 200$ xiaomi. Better believe it. Battery was one reason i ditched it. But remembering the speakers, when calling and youtube, I was in constant agony daily. After a month I had to sell it.
@@artbunker also, the s23u released 2023 with Android 13. It gets 4 android updates. Currently on 14 with newest October 1 patch. Q1 2025 it gets Android 15. And then till 2027 Android 17. After this, it gets 2 or 3 more years security updates. And you are good till 2030 with 1 or 2 battery changes. 1 battery is like 20$, peanuts. And you can swap it yourself if you are at least somewhat handy and can mimick UA-cam tutorials. S24u is great but if somebody happens to keep it for 8 year of android updates and 3 more years better prepare yourself to change battery at least 3 times
Hey uh, I’m currently using an iPhone 12 Pro and I have enough to upgrade to a 13 pro max but tbh, I’m so damn sick of using iOS devices and I was wondering if the s22 ultra still holds up in 2024, I would’ve opted for the s23 ultra but I don’t have enough, i just don’t know how well Samsung *is* compared to iPhone
I see you are on a budget. If you could save up a little more, the S23U is simply the better device. It has better battery life, camera (video stabilization, higher megapixels, better processing, and night mode), and speakers. The S22U is great, but rest assured that the S23U would be a better experience
The S22 Ultra is a great device with a very versatile camera but the battery is just bad. Not average, but bad. If you don't do much of all day travelling it shouldn't be a much of a problem but other than that, go for the S23 Ultra. You can try them both, order online from a place that honors the 14 days return policy. So that way you'll test and won't lose anything
Would the 23 be good for concert videos and pics? I've seen videos on the 24 and the zoom and quality is amazing, I just wanna know if there's a difference.
i have an old a70, im saving money for black friday, which one is a better deal for you guys? 512gb s23U for $700-$750 or 512gb s24U for $850-$900? Is it worth it for the extra money or should I get the s23U + some earbuds or something? I can´t decide, I like the cameras more on the s23U but the s24U has more years of updates, pls help me make a decision :(
These upgraded phones are not for those who bought their previous versions, like a year old model, they make them for those who are upgrading after 2-3 years
I would say if you are upgrading from a phone that you bought in 2022 then go for 23 ultra... i have the same, i upgraded to s23 ultra from k 20 pro which i bought in 2019, it feels a massive upgrade, experience is the same as s24 ultra. I would say Upgrade to latest flagship phones only after using the midrange phone for atleast 3 years, because you won't see any difference if you upgrade every year. Technology isn't as innovative worth the price they charge for the product. Better be samrt.
@@flameblaze2777 if you can wait till feb-march then you can get an s25 as well, also the price of s24 ultra will go down after s25s' launch.. or you can go for 23 ultra even now, i love this phone, compared it with iphone 16 pro max and not much of a difference comparing their prices.

If you apply a 2 dollar matt finish screen protector on S23 ultra it becomes anti reflective too 😂 even better than s24 ultra inbuit anti reflective.
Excuse me, Is the display of the 24 ultra as vivid as that of the 23 ultra?
And are the speakers louder?
@itsme5778 i have the s24ultra the speakers are very good
I'm waiting for the S25 ultra release so I can buy the S23 ultra even cheaper. Coming from A52

S24 has a little bit longer software support as well. But my S23ultra is my main . my V60 my back up.

My top two favorite smartphones of all time sitting side by side, right next to each other❤😍
You forgot to mention that the S24 Ultra has an anti reflective screen which could be significant on outdoors
All i can say is that the s23u is a lot more comfortable due to the curve screen and i also find it brighter
Great video as always Matthew, I am still using my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and even though old it's still usable.
Thanks for sharing
S20 FE - great powerful phone with very good camera.
But the s24ultra is Boss my guy 😊

pointless upgrade tho. Worth only if you swap it and pay like 200$ tops
