He fought the ENTIRE WORLD for this, lost his friends many times, and he Won in the end. a bittersweet fight, but still.
This is by far one of the best game franchises ever made. The guy has been through so much, he fought through everything and everyone to protect the ones he cares for and more. Seeing a character you play as growing old, learning, making tough decisions, THIS is what a story is. This isn’t just a game, it’s more than that.
No matter how strong a pillar of strength anyone is..the truth is no person, no pillar..can carry all the weight on their own ...and just like pillars over time...the pillar, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE can buckle under the weight..which is to say, no matter how strong you may appear on the outside...it's much harder to be strong alone on the inside ( ie we all need help and it's never wrong to have friends and family help you through things..even when you're at your lowest and you feel like you can't see the light ).

I hope Infinite Wealth’s events makes Kiryu decide that he’s done with the Daidoji so he can be at the orphanage and live in peace. The Daidoji should be able to let him go if his identity has been exposed to the world.
It will. Maybe the Daidoji as a whole will end? He’ll break free cause they’re the real villains? Who knows. Maybe he’ll finally just be free because of what you said, but I feel he will finally reunite with the morning glory kids and it will be another one of the most sad scenes in the series.
If he does eventually reunite with the morning glory kids, it'll be fleeting because by the time Infinite Wealth comes around, he's already dying from cancer (literally confirmed by the man himself in the trailer). from a character perspective, I personally think that it'll be unlikely for that to happen. Kiryu have went through dozens of times where he had to part way from the people he loved, he wouldn't want to make Haruka and the others experience that with him for the second time I'm sure. Plus, the farther away he is from them, the less likely his past as a former notorious yakuza member would come back to bite him and putting his loved ones in harm's way again.
Well Daidoji would put a hit on him for sure, but doesn’t Kiryu himself who decided to erase his name and he’s not the kind of guy who don’t back up is word. But here we are hoping something
Can I just say the voice acting in this scene is absolutely fantastic, if he doesn’t get an award or something after this then I don’t know what someone needs too do to get one
I cried a lot the ending ended really nicely though it might be a little sad... Man I couldn’t. Most emotional moment in the series thus far and it killed me. I was bawling like a bitch. I know Infinite Wealth is gonna kill us too 😭
this is honestly just the saddest thing that I've watched in a video game. Seeing Kiryu cry like that, knowing what kind of hell he went through, how many people he has lost and saved, only for him to still be separated by his family and seeing that family grown up now... Yakuza 6 ending made me cried and Gaiden being essentially Yakuza 6.5, this ending hurts so much more. Yet I am also worried what kind of tragedy he will get through in Infinite Wealth knowing that he is sick now. I hope at least he can meet Haruka or the kids once more, even in his last moments.
To see the most stoic character ive admired for a very long time at his most vulnerable damn near had my eyes tear up. Then i laughed at myself. I hope to play his Kiryu well into his elder years. Either as a bald monk, or a kung fu master, like the guy that taught black mamba in kill bill
"Guess i needed them more than they ever needed me...", one of the most powerful line in the franchise i think, with Majima saying to Makoto she work up some knot he have for 18 years in Kiwami 2.
the most insane part of all of this (and probably why it hurts so much) is that we saw those kids grow up through the games i don't think any other game has managed that
Playing through this game has been amazing since I discovered Yakuza 3 played every game since that was available in the US I haven't reached this part yet but it hit hard I've grow with these characters and seen them all grow with me it hits really hard especially since Kiryu does everything to keep his end of the deal being a man of his word I know too many people and myself included that would've caved try ti see them or give a sign I'm alive shows how different Kiryu is from a normal person and how much willpower he has... 😢
I didn't cry like you did. But I definitely had 1 or 3 tears flowing down my cheeks. You know he wasn't crying just for the moment. He was also finally letting the burden and heaviness of all the games and all the time go. This is the only 100% happy ending of the franchise.
Bro... This cinematic broke me down. I haven't crt this much on a video game in a while. It really fell like those damn kids were mi own kids since we saw them growing through the games. The Haruto drawing make me yell so loud crying. Like damn this hit me so hard. The pain of being away from all his kids destroy me and i don't even got kids man. They really did a masterclass job with this scene
reminds me of kenshiro from fist of the north star, kenshiro meets his two children again but grown as adult but still children he loves them as his own it was heartwarming reunion
I have never cried happy yet sad tears over a game in a long time. Last time I cried like a baby was when Arthur Morgan died. And that was back in 2018. This was the most recent game that I cried to because of how happy yet sad it is. I was happy because they are all grown up and living their lives, but I was sad because we can never see them again, making it bittersweet to see them again. And considering that my first ever Yakuza game was 3, I watched those kids grow up a lot, I wanted to care for them and see them all the time as Kiryu, but then this ending, man, this ending got me balling like there was no tomorrow. I felt like Kiryu in that moment.
I had personally wanted to scream at Hanawa for trying to go along with keeping the threatening attitude towards those kids like the organization said they would if Kiryu broke his oath, never to believe he couldn't just bend that just ONCE to not try to break that man. And then he ended up breaking him with the kindest thing he could possibly give him with those kids. Apology accepted, Hanawa.
I definitely wasn't expecting this. I was just thinking that the last fight cinematic was cool and then they drop this scene. Kiryu never felt more vulnerable than this, more human instead of the yakuza legend. The scene broke my heart and left me an emotional mess.
I'm so moved by this community. All walks of life have a unique bond with the series. Just shows how human we really are. I couldn't be any happier. 🙌🏼

I don't know much about the Yakuza series and have never played any of the game, but for some reason this scene made cry like a baby.
To see the most stoic character ive admired for a very long time at his most vulnerable damn near had my eyes tear up. Then i laughed at myself. I hope to play his Kiryu well into his elder years. Either as a bald monk, or a kung fu master, like the guy that taught black mamba in kill bill
Out of any game I've ever played, this scene is the only one to make me fully cry
They all grown up 😭
Anyone else feel like
After all the game he spend trying to
Get away from the gang life he right back were he started
Being use
No, not completely. Infinite Wealth will have him get away from it finally though so that’s okay :)
@@Zephhi is he?
He still working for them at the end of gaiden
Mah heart…let it all out Kiryu, let it all out…
"Guess i needed them more than they ever needed me...", one of the most powerful line in the franchise i think, with Majima saying to Makoto she work up some knot he have for 18 years in Kiwami 2.
Aw, Taichi didn't get to become a pro wrestler like he had hoped in Yakuza 3
the most insane part of all of this (and probably why it hurts so much) is that we saw those kids grow up through the games
i don't think any other game has managed that
I dont even know the context of whats happening but even i teared up a little.
Yongyea could NEVER replicate this scene
Just when you thought the most emotional part ended, they hit you with the present they prepared. Loved every single second of the game.
They really did a masterclass job with this scene
dude, i dont even know what happen, but those cry from a heavy voice man always get me.
reminds me of kenshiro from fist of the north star, kenshiro meets his two children again but grown as adult but still children
he loves them as his own
it was heartwarming reunion
Nothing hits the same as emotional pain, it can be hard to say goodbye but not being able to it is so much worse.
MY HEAAAAAAAART 😭😭😭😭
i loved her
waaaaaaaaaaaaaa
@@makimaki500i thought the shame
This scene broke me so hard. As soon as Kiryu started crying, i started bawling.
I bawled my eyes out at this scene. Haven’t cried this hard for a game since season 1 of Telltale’s Walking Dead.
Bruh this made me emotional I love this series been a fan since yakuza 3
this game series continues to hit different
I had personally wanted to scream at Hanawa for trying to go along with keeping the threatening attitude towards those kids like the organization said they would if Kiryu broke his oath, never to believe he couldn't just bend that just ONCE to not try to break that man.
And then he ended up breaking him with the kindest thing he could possibly give him with those kids. Apology accepted, Hanawa.
I had to keep pausing this scene because it was getting hard to read the subtitles from crying
Damn, here I am crying again. And probably will cry whenever I come back to see this cutscene.
Greatest Kiryu pains of all time
1- This scene
Vs
2- Losing a pocket race circuit
So I cried. Doesn't make me less of a man.
they are sooo good at dramatizing these endings. never expected something would hit harder than Y6.
I genuinely could not breathe while watching this. I was crying too hard.
Brother I don’t think my heart will be able to go through Infinite Wealth
I definitely wasn't expecting this. I was just thinking that the last fight cinematic was cool and then they drop this scene.
Kiryu never felt more vulnerable than this, more human instead of the yakuza legend. The scene broke my heart and left me an emotional mess.
I don't know anything about this series but I'm over here crying
It took me about 15 years to do the 2005 Yakuza series, felt like I was looking back on my life like this. It's touched. 😢
This is the most realistic crying ive ever heard and seen too bro got all running nose and shit thats sad
I just can’t look at this man crying
