    Is it tuned C G D A like a Mandola or is it G D A E like an Octave Mandolin . Also isn't the scale length of a Mandola different from an Octave . Mine appear to be about five or six inches different .

      HotRodSixString It's tuned E A D G (thinnest string first). In Britain we call these instruments Octave Mandolin, in the US they tend to get called Octave Mandola. This instrument is not a mandola it's tuned like a mandolin but an octave lower
