My mum lives 350 km from me, I cannot go to her now, but her local evangelical charity takes fantastic care of her.I try to pay back by shopping and sewing a facemask for a sick lady neighbour. This is just like the Jewish holiday Purim! I'm not Jewish but I taught at Jewish preschools for years. Purim is my favorite Jewish holiday. You make up baskets of gifts for your neighbors and leave them anonymously. They would usually include a bottle of kosher wine and hamengashen which is a delightful baked sweet with jam, jelly, or chocolate. I love apricot jam best. Kids dress up like characters from the story of Queen Esther. And adults are supposed to get so drunk they don't remember their names in celebration of life and the liberation of the Jewish people at the time of Queen Esther. I love it!
