I absolutely love this home and the village of Riverwood. Probably because I end up there so often from switching mods in and out.. [Edit - Spoiler📣] For anyone curious about the farming mechanics: 1) Use four buckets of water. Two from the river and two from the well. I use well > river > river > well sequence. 2) Till the soil 20 times, you'll hurt your back once or twice but it doesn't prevent you from continuing. 3) Fertilise the soil 6 times. You'll get a prompt asking if you want to remove worms, select No. You'll also get a prompt asking if you want to remove stones and twigs, select Yes. 4) Once completed, select New Farm from the option list on the post. You should get a score of around 37, which will unlock all planters outside and inside, and a special option in the farming menu too. 😊
This was the first mod home I ever had and I truly love this mod. I might have to put this back in my load order. FYI if you use a tree enhancement mod you may end up blocking the mailbox where the key is, just disable the mod and then grab the key and then enable the tree mod and you are set. I had that problem and I am using my Xbox one. Overall this is a great mod and beautifully done.
Fun fact: I downloaded it earlier this day and if I'd known that you would make another showcase, I'd waited because it took me 15 or 20 minutes to figure out how the kitchen oven works. It's definitely a "not for lazy people" place. ... It was very nice to have a cup of beer outside at night, when it was raining.
Aaaah I feel ya Robert heh it took me ages as well. And don't do what I did and try and get more wood when the fire's already going. You just stand there with it like a lemon lol:)
I've been using this mod for about two months and only just recently learned that if you sit your toon at the bar or kitchen table, food populates on plates (I think you'll get one of 20 different random meals). You can also opt to play instruments while in the "den" area, and your toon will randomly jam-out on either a drum a flute or a lute. Regrettably, there is no accompanying sound when your toon launches into a jam session.
I love this home, which is not for the lazy, really makes you feel like your part of that community, and I use it with White River Cottage as well, which I also like very much. Both mod authors are amazing modders and deserve all the credit they can get. Once again, another truly outstanding mod review of these two author's great work. Thank you so much for all your time and effort in producing this great review. I watched it a couple of times and picked up some information I didn't know, and your review really captures the heart of this great mod.
As far as farming goes I think you just need to get certain tasks correct in the proper order (water, til, fertilize), no matter how many times you do it-except the watering. Water first--3 river water and 1 well water, then Til until you get the box that says "you til the soil well", and then you have to fertilize until you keep the worms in the soil twice and pick out the stones twice. I would heal any back injury in the outdoor spa immediately once it occurs. I've gotten perfect farm scores every time I do this.
Yet another great review. I used this and White River Cottage in my last playthrough, loved both mods which are very well done, and a spent most of my time there because the location is so good. Thank you for all of your time and efforts in the making of this another outstanding mod review. Many blessings to you.
I had tried it but for whatever reason I didn't really give it full look, went back and reloaded it and omg! ! ! , this one is a keeper, it will never leave my list again. It hits the sweet spot for me size and feature wise, and I just like Riverwood :)
Check the comments section on the mod page because you'll sometimes find information on what you're looking for, for example someone says:- "It sorts vanilla items. It will not recognize items added by mods or expansions. So it sorts potatoes but not ash yams and so on. I'm not sure why it doesn't sort dragon parts or gems." There may be a lot more information there.
So well designed in terms of layout of features, animations, and immersive role play. Nice details, like the shrines, the teleport, and the little windows. Being so close to town, do you have trouble with predators, etc.?
I've noticed a lot of the videos have the forgotten city music playing and I can't tell if it's intentional or if it's due to the bug (which I also had)
A great walkthrough! Others have said it but your voice is so soothing, well articulated and just lovely. I'm glad you are doing videos. I have to admit to being distracted during this video: in the last one I watched on Whispering Waters, I was saying to myself, is that bunny... following her? Nah, must be because animals roam there. Then this video, yes, s/he is definitely "with" her. And then I saw the armor and died LOL. How freaking adorable!

I saw a funny “hijinks” video that was using this house mod. I instantly fell in love with it cause of how beautiful it was. But because of how limited my mod storage was, I was a bit hesitant about getting it despite seeing how low the download size was. But thanks to your video, I’m downloading it first thing once I get back to my game!!
@@FebrithDarkstar I spent my “usual” two hours that I play video games on weekdays exploring this house today and I absolutely loved it! I just explored around with the settings, customizing it to my liking, and made it my “main house.” It’s now my all time favorite player home, even over a modded Proudspire Manor. I’m still going to keep the mods I used for the city homes (because they’re kickass) but this’ll be my main home from now on. Still gotta figure out the farming though
Firewood is now required in order to light the fireplace. The outdoor work table has an option for Leaf Rest to have its own wood-chopping block on the front porch, or you can simply use one at the nearby mill. Chop some wood (at least 4 pieces) then take and place it into the stockpile located in the basement (or use auto-sort). Next pick up the wood from the stockpile & carry it over to the fireplace. Lighting the fire will allow you to use the cooking pot, the oven, & the interactive dining table. Adjust burning times by using the settings book.
I recently added this mod, but I'm still new on how to exactly use it. A few questions: (I don't know how to customize the entirety of my home) -how do I add the children's/followers room to the spare room? -I collected firewood for the kitchen fire, but I don't know how to light the fireplace. -how do I add items to the mannequins and display cases?
There is a book on the table by the window in the master bedroom that allows you to change the followers/kids rooms to what you want. For the fireplace, go to the wood pile and you will have two options: One is for taking from the wood inventory and the other starts the animation. When you see yourself holding the wood, take it upstairs to the fireplace and the lighting animation takes over. As for using the mannequins, just click on them and store what armor you wish to be displayed on them including a shield if you wish. Have fun! It’s an awesome player home and definitely my favorite followed by Elysium Estate and Riverside Lodge.
Does anyone know how to activate the option to eat with the follower? I am translating the mod and there are some lines of options that I cannot find within the mod, they say something like choosing if you want to eat meat or bread or if you want to clean the table

Hey I’m having a problem. I’m new to this house and while everything seems to be working just fine, I can’t get my husband and two kids to move here. I have a kids room set up for them and everything, yet I can’t get them to move here. I tried moving the mod load order around but it didn’t do anything. Do I need to have a special mod installed in order to have them in the house?
From the mod page:- Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions Compatibility This feature allows for adopted children to live inside of the house. Use of this feature requires the Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions mod to be installed. In order to successfully bless the home you must also first activate children's beds via the Leaf Rest settings book. Up to four children can live inside the home.
Excellent video, as usual. I've been using Leaf Rest as my main home for a couple of years now - through two play-throughs, but I still learnt some things I didn't know about! Thank you. Here are some little tips I've picked up during my stay at Leaf Rest. Eating a meal at the table in the kitchen will give a long lasting boost to your carry weight - well worth having; but you can't get a meal unless the fire is lit! One word of warning - don't pick up firewood to light the fire if it is already lit, as you won't be able to get rid of the firewood you're holding. You can't put it on the fire (as it's already lit) you can't put it back into the wood pile, and you can't drop it. There is a book at both the Enchanter and the Alchemy Lab, which if read, will give a short-term boost to your Enchanting or Alchemy skill. Again well worth knowing. There is a secret cupboard behind the notice board in the office to the left of the desk - it's above the chest. If you click to open this it will slide upwards, revealing a small safe and a jewelry box.

The only thing that bugs me about Leaf Rest is the follower's room. The shelves can't be used to store books. This is my go to primary house. I love that everything is easy to access without any internal load screens. I think I may do my own video on how to maximize the farm. It is possible to end up with 25 plots in the farm space, 3 planters outside with 3 plots, 3 planters with 2 plots inside, 2 planters with 1 plot inside by the statue, and 2 mini farms on either side of the statue with 4 plots each. Awwww noooo!
Very nice
I love this home its awsome 😁😁😁
For sure. I want it IRL:)
Love it! Thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
That is 50 possible plots for planting!
Excellent:)
No encuentro la llave en el buzón dónde más puede estar?
Console command your way in and then open the panel with the maps ( left side of the desk ) in the sleeping room
The key isn't there for me :( am on Xbox
If the key is not in the mail post, 1st check around the ground. Next try moving Leaf Rest to a later position in your load order. If the problem still persists use these steps: Enter console mode, select the door, and type in the "unlock" command. An extra key can be found inside the hidden safe
@@FebrithDarkstar ok so I'm inside the house now , where is this safe with the key?
In the bedroom behind the map on the wall in front of you is a secret panel!
Wish I didn’t crash trying to enter the home
