All I see is local reps looking after number one and protecting their own positions and scoring brownie points with management. This job is finished , they are deliberately leaving mail in and only concentrating on parcels, so the uso is being ignored daily , stop backing them up !
They used to call it "deliberately witholding mail", and now it's an " optimized delivery model"😅 Really glad the union is promoting the new owner's ideas without actually arguing or negotiating anything on behalf of the workforce, means i don't need to watch anymore of this drivel. How did the CWU become so detached from what is actually happening in offices? The rep in my office (and his mates), have the smallest rounds in the office, and not by a small amount, to the extent that they can clear daily, even at Christmas, while I , and others, cant even clear tracked. I returned with 33 tracked today, first time I have ever failed parcels. I had 162 tracked items to prioritise over mail. There is mail on my walk that has not been out for over 7 days because I am told to prioritise tracked and specials. In our office, there are dedicated parcel jobs going out with less tracked than actual rounds with 400+ calls on them.
I remember years ago we would get pulled into the office if any mail was left or brought back not endorsed. Now we are leaving full walks in just so we can get Tracked out the door. Sickening.
If the business want to save money , all they need to do is get rid of at least 50% of these office managers and that would save a truck load of money. What the hell they do to earn 50k+ a year I dont know
I thought he was going to come on and reassure members but now hes talking about 5 hour delivery spans and rotating driving and delivering to cope with fatigue and we are suppose to retire at 67.Hes alright Jack😂Out of touch with the workforce

I was brought up to believe 'willful delay of the mail' was a criminal offence never mind a diciplinary one.Has the law changed?.If not, all the union has to do is hold R.M. legally acountable to ensure managable delivery.Never mind all these complex 'solutions'.Whoose batting for who here.
you come up with all the ideas, giving more work to us and you and your friends sitting in your office not going to work on christmas eve and will be back in office after new year , you all enjoy on our fees and we will work for you
Re-inventing the wheel every damn year .. So right now we do 1st class most of the week and get a day in the week where everything comes through at once and its just about every address on a duty with multiple complaints from the REAL customers asking why they are getting 10+letters all at once and nothing the rest of the week and making out that the posties arnt doing their job. And now you want it to be every other day essentially giving yourself double mail every day ... All this from what we had which was a well structured way of working .. deliver EVERYTHING everyday , are duties were well structured .. we knew what days were the light days and what days would be the heavy days , so we had longs and shorts making up our hours and on the short days it gave us time to prep things like junk mail. Now it seems there are people higher up who have never got off their fat asses , taking money out of the business with their ridiculous wages sitting in chairs throwing ideas at a wall and seeing which of the shit sticks. Bloody pencil pushers that have no idea what its like on delivery trying to tell us what is going to work and save money and a union now that is basically a mouth puppet for the business. Shocking I wonder if anyone higher up than local delivery offices or slightly higher has actually noticed how bad new staff retention is at the moment.
Maybe get an interviewer who has a basic grasp of being a Postie. Sick to death of this bloke having to have the basics of the job explained to him,what’s a PDA? What’s a door to door? Office revision?
This guy has no idea. Firstly, mail centres are already holding back 2nd class mail and have been for several years. So the suggestion on "condensing" that is moot. Secondly, Ive been told by management that the model week is using a hit rate of 40-50% when planning duties, so the proposal of covering 75% monday to friday is, black and white, impossible. Wake up and talk to the people doing the job.
