I really like how the lyrics resemble Makoto and Ryoji in their final battle. In the first half, Ryoji hopes his closest friend can stop him because he doesn’t want to hurt Makoto. But as forced to do so by Nyx itself, he must do what Nyx makes him do, like a string puppet. This is implied when we get to the line “Take my wings” and “But they can’t stop me from going”. In the second half, Makoto realizes the value of friendship and forging bonds, he isn’t alone anymore and will continue moving forward, he cares about the life he’s living and for others’ sake.
one of the great things the movies and stageplays had provided, a reason to give more fck about Ryoji. Idk in-game everything just felt too fast and I was like "ok cool ur death lol" despite finding him a bit interesting. Femc route s.link helped a lot too
I like that the start of this calls back to Resuscitation, the Strega battle from the third movie, then rolls headlong into lyrics and Nyx's badassery.
“I won’t ever back down. Because I am not alone anymore” God damn that hits hard, this is my favorite song in the soundtrack and this is why I love Makoto Yuki more than any other protagonist in the series because he is so relatable.

In the original fight it doesn't start until the last arcana as well, but I do think that even if it was added it'd be a remixed version. Although I would prefer a theme change, battle hymm of the soul is an absolutely amazing song but a song like this that represents hope more then despair fits a lot.

Sir Smiteful I believe there is some kind of reference to him being on the police force in P5 (it’s been awhile since I played it so I’m not entirely sure), but I was more so referring to the ending of Episode P3 in Arena Ultimax. He meets up with Kurosawa to ask for assistance in joining the police force so he can protect the other members of SEES, in a legal sense. By the time the events of P5 occur I imagine he’s probably been with the force for a good few years.

Something about the build up and the "Dunana Dunana Duh" also something about the kind of sweeping crescendos/portamentos. At the very least there are similar notes being played that my ear is picking up. If you listen to the first 20 seconds of ORAS Elite four theme you might be able to hear what I am. I think that's the one it reminds me up the most.
