That's one heck of a Collection! My grandson has inherited quite a Collection, and still growing. I wish I could count his. He got mine, my younger brothers, those of 2 of my male cousins, my son's (his Uncle), and those from his father's side (my son in law). He mostly has Soldiers, but also Civil War, Cowboys and Indians, Alamo, Knights and Fantasy, Space, and even oddballs like Zulus, and Boxer Rebellion.
One of his favorite play patterns for Civil War figures is a cross between the movies Major Dundee with Charlton Heston and Cavalry Charge with Ronald Reagan. He sets up a little town in the middle of the table I bought him. The Union is joined by the Cowboys and the Confederate Army United against an alliance and 2 pronged attack from Native Americans (and a small group of Comancheros/Banditos) on one side and the Mexican Army on the other. Both sides have Cannon. The Union also has 5 Gatling Guns. One of those was a pencil sharpener. LOL Every Mexican and Native dies 10 times each even though they have pretty good numbers. Note, there are even some 'Civilians'. He inherited 2 lady gunfighters, a Schoolmarm, some Native women, and a few prospectors.
I know a place where you can get Civil War soldiers in shooting poses. I live in Arkansas and I go to Hobby Lobby to shop for some Civil War soldiers and they're 10 dollars a bag plus tax.
Nice collection. It brings back fun memories of when I was a kid as I had a huge army of green army men. Having those actually got me into model building because I wanted to grow my army but couldn't find what I wanted, so I built models, now at 58, I still haven't grown out of either model building or little army men as I have an absolutely massive warhammer40k collection that i keep adding to. I was just thinking that a lot of your armies would look good painted.
@@b-rayx8583 tbh tho number isn’t the most difficult. Finding different types and different brand is the hardest. No point having 100 same looking army man lol
Woooooow…! Your collection would make a great stopmotion series what has multiverses connection portals and time traveling…! Those knights look same what one buildable castle set came with, and seeing classic airfix poses gives me a little tear into my eye for the nostalgia. (I am having a plan on making a stopmotion series on separate YT-channel what has the mentioned multiverses connecting portals… originally planned to have plastic army men against my 40k, but ever since GW becoming hostile against fan creations, I had to scarp that idea and boycot the company. Guess I’ll use my small collection of Corvus Belli’s Infinity the game minifigs instead…)
Dude the amount of things that you had in this video that I also had growing up was actually starting to bug me a certain point it's like we almost had the same collection from the police and fireman to the cowboys and Indians to the jets and helicopters and that big ass green tank in the end too it was too much man it was a nostalgia trip and a half seeing all that stuff again to say the least
Man I had the largest collection of army men growing up and I kept it with me until I was about 24 in the garage. I finally left it behind but so wish I hadn’t. Had all sorts of stuff and hardware. Aside from the army men, I had a smaller army of micro machines plus equipment and vehicles. You’re blows mine out of the water man! Incredible. I think I had like 700 army men and 150 micro machines.
Yeah I have recently started to rebuild a collection. I haven't had one since the early 80's. It's been nice getting reacquainted with the classic Timee Vietnam era troops and M-48 tanks & armored cars.
@@jerry1276 Yo dude that awesome! Isn’t it fun to go back? yea for some reason the most prevalent and popular army men that I got from the 90’s was WW2 style. Lots of M1 Garands and Thompsons lol. Still a blast. I used to make stop motion using the train set materials and a mini DV camera. I recorded a base ambush scene from the movie Platoon with a handheld tape recorder and I would start and stop the video camera and recorder at the same time. Ironically it worked, not the best but I created a stop motion war scene in a forest with the platoon sound effects. This was the early 2000’s before all the available software and hardware. I still have all those videos in a box under my bed, even the fire cracker army men explosion ones lol.
@@jellymop Cool! I'm glad you experimented with filming your own troops. Growing up in the late 70's/early 80's I had a mixture of 60's cold war troops and W.W.II sets. W.W.II was popular in kid's imaginations at that time with all of the Hollywood films on afternoon TV. Battle of the Bulge, Where Eagles Dare, The Longest Day, A Bridge too Far etc. Sometimes I was playing W.W.II and sometimes modern. Sometimes a mix of time periods or just repelling an alien invasion. I'm enjoying getting back some Timee soldiers and armor. Also some cold war jets (Timee Navy A-7 Corsair II?, F-104) I never had back in the day. Give my troops an airbase to protect this time. Great channel the host has here.
I recovered all mine army men and I had 1256 men along with 53 vehicles 15 artillery 10 Transports 8 helicopters 12 boats 13 tanks and 6 heavy armored vehicles
Very cool! Surprising to see how many of them i recognized. One thing i had that i didnt see in your collection. Dont know what they were but i had a few of each of Grey Spetnaz and Dark green Royal Marine Commandos, and one French soldier with Famas. All very detailed with rectangular bases.
It’s nice to see others building large collections like this I recently inventoried my own and not including zombies and Cavalry it currently stands at 7,896 keep up the good work.

Back in the 60s and early 70s, I had so many cowboy and Indian battles with my plastic soldiers! I had the metal Fort Apache set, the metal Alamo, and the Guns of Navaron mountain WW2 set. Fun times.
You should start searching for older figures. I recommend you start with the guns of Navarone Play set. You'll get a big mountain of guns out of it lots of vehicles of different sorts and a great big German army and of course the standard American. There's also a good Japanese army set that you could buy on the side. I was also at the time a really good medieval knight but I think it's superior to the site you have in my opinion. You'll find that the late 60s and early 70s through the 80s you'll find a gold mine it was also a great dinosaur said the key was a great big part mount the rock bridge connecting that came with a bunch of caveman that are the same size as your standard plastic army men just a couple recommendations for you good luck with your hobby

There was also a bag of dinosaurs that sold back then that had D&D monsters mixed in with dinosaurs. Over the next few days I'll try to look up some of this stuff and send you more info.
Hey just a little nerdy history, the reason you don't have many shooting poses for the civil war armys is because back then their main priority was cannons. If the army was defending or battling they usually had one or two men shooting a gun, while everyone else was manding the cannons. Now don't get me wrong there were battles with mainly guns, it's just that they mostly used cannons. So your army must be based of those cannon battles.
