Thank you! I really appreciate that. The crabs were great! I love sitting down with family and watching everyone crack, rip, bite or hammer the shells to get to their pretty white meat. LOL! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for coming along on another video! It's cold here but we're still catching plenty of fish and Blue Crab. Hope to see you soon. Take care, stay safe and God bless!
Love watching your videos you guys are awesome born and raised in Maryland crabbing all my life respect the fact that you do not keep females crabs keep up the good work
A wonderful batch of crabs and I’m sure they were delicious! That was an interesting comparison of the baits, too. My parents and I always thought crabs tasted better when we caught them from cooler water. But then again, they’re always good. It’s been years since those days, but those are memories to cherish. Thanks for bringing them back, again! Y’all please take care and many blessings for the New Year~
Yes, the crabs were very tasty! We had a great time sitting around eating them with our family. Thank you for watching! I always get excited when I hear someone say that our videos have helped them. Continue to hold on to those memories! Stay safe and God bless!
When I was a kid, I use to crab from the banks with my family and catch blue crabs. We would boil the crabs right there using salt water. I don't know if it was good for us but we ate them. LOL! They were great!
I'm on the Delmarva peninsula. Been crabbing here since I was about 3. Would like to try crabbing down south. By the time we hit December our crabs are in the Mudd for the next 4 months.
Dang! $25 a pound. LOL! Go get you some Randy. I'm glad we are able to get out and catch our crabs. Thanks for the comment and watching buddy! Stay safe and take care.
Love this. Keep up the good work guys I really enjoyed watching this video made me hungry now I'm going to the kitchen to make a sandwich. I bet those blue crabs we're tasty
These Blue Crab were tasty! I think these blue crab have a better taste to them when they come out of cold water. Maybe this is just my imagination playing tricks on me. LOL! Stay safe buddy and God bless!
Thanks so much! We're amateur shrimp trawlers. We've learned the basics of shrimp trawling over the last few years and just love doing it. We've recently purchased a 25.2 Parker that we're going to be using to pulling a 40' net with this year. I can't wait for the 2023 trawling season.

@@SaltyReflections I think it has a lot to do with how good of excitement you both have for life, and each other. Awesome man! We're always glad to hear someone say that they are enjoying our videos. We'll do our best to keep the videos coming. Stay safe and God bless!
If u square your pots up from slamming them on the rail they will catch better. I commercial crab in nc and I'm crazy about my gear getting beat up. Lol. Good video keep em coming
Thanks! I really don't know if we need as much line as we're using. LOL! Our tides can move pots around. I always want enough line that if our pot gets moved into deeper water we'll have a chance in finding it.
New subscriber, love the video. Curious the water temperature and how late in the year you catch them. In MD we crab into early November as they go to deep for recreational crabbing. Do they go into the mud and go dormant for the winter
Welcome! Our water temperature is around 68' right now and we catch lots of crabs all the way into Dec. During our short winters crabs can still be caught in deeper waters. Happy crabbing!
My good buddy Philip made it for me. If you're ever in Beaufort and looking for a crab Guage, check out Beaufort Marine Supply, Grayco or Beaufort Boat & Dock Supply. They're all within a 10 min. drive of each other and they'll have about anything you'll need for crabbing, fishing, shrimping, etc.
Wow! That's nice December catchin' right there! So... the million dollar question is: do you think it's the bait or the location of the pots??? Inquiring minds want to know! Also, we play by the rules 100% -- not only does it keep the game warden off your back, more importantly it's the right thing to do for the ecology of the system. However, we've started keeping some of our bigger mature females. From what I know the females only reproduce once so when you see that nice rounded dome shape and darker color on their apron, they should be good. They are certainly legal to keep in NC. Do yall have any different regulations or thoughts on it? I would never keep a female that could potentially reproduce again.
Thanks for coming along on another video! I have learned that female crabs can reproduce more than once. They only bred once but can store sperm from the the males and reproduce several times after. I really don't know what to look for to see if a sook has reproduced as many times as she's capable of but I'm still learning and open to all information about them. Stay safe, take care and God bless!
Thank you Oliver! That’s really good info. We only crab from the bank or docks but have noticed that some places hold more females than others. We will definitely be targeting the males because I don’t want to take a female out of the system that might potentially still reproduce. God bless brother!
Brother, it's perfectly fine to keep female crabs if they're legal in your area. I really wasn't trying to give you a hard time about the female crabs. I just wanted to pass on a little knowledge that I've learned about them. People kill animals that are capable of reproducing all the time. If we didn't catch enough males crabs to feed us, we'd keep females.
No worries Oliver! I didn't in the least think you were giving me a hard time! Yall have so much experience and knowledge about crabbing, I'm just happy to learn something new when I can. Cheers, my friend!
That's a lot of crabs out of them traps, any time you got 10 crabs or more in a pot you doing good, been crabbing all my life in Louisiana and that's a good woman/captain you got there, is that a Carolina skiff? IN Louisiana they got to be 4 1/2" point to point to be legal
Sure! We'll have to share some of our crab recipes. One of our favorite is a crab dip. Mouth watering to even think about. Thanks for watching! Here's a short video of how we clean and steam crab. ua-cam.com/video/7gdesbJ7YIU/v-deo.html
HELP ? ? ? Love your videos, I live in Ct. we have a great crabbing season here, My first year was 2020, I've crabbed every month May through Sept. Caught unbelievable amount but no keepers . any help / ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Chicken is a great crab bait and it's cheap. We do use chicken occasionally. We use fish & shrimp a lot more just because its bait we already have (so its FREE) from cleaning the fish we have caught or the bycatch from shrimping.
I just had 2 pots go missing. I try not to blame missing pots on others but I have heard some pretty sad stories of guys loosing thousands of dollars worth of gear in a night. Glad I'm just a recreational crabber making some videos to share with others. Commercial crabbing ain't easy!
I think the crabbing videos are my favorite, now. Love watching and hoping each crab is a keeper.
Thanks, man. The crabbing is starting to pick up in our area, and we're hoping to see lots of keepers soon.

I have a hard time getting the crabs out of my traps. I need a pot shaker. 😩 Thanks for watching in NC. Good luck out there.
I believe you're right out of cold water they are better guess that's why I like Alaskan king crab legs
I've never tried the King Crab. I bet they are great!
Crab pots in louisiana with floats will disappear overnight. State law says they have to be marked to help the thieves.
😆🤣 Thankfully it's not that bad in our area.

Thanks for not taking the female's. Here in Florida we can't take them. Liked the video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. I didn't know female crabs were illegal to keep in Florida. I learn something new everyday from you all.
Maybe I can get you two ship some my way LOL

Have you tried or know someone who tried using both fish and chicken in the same trap as bait?
I haven't, we'll have to give it a try.
