If only they'd do that haha. Or maybe add some constant grocery/gas categories to their cards too... then people wouldn't talk down on em as much at least! I still love the CFU though.
I have this one because when I do the math the 3X on dining combined with the 1.5X on everything else happens to equal what I would get on a 2X for everything card. Then you think about combining that with a Sapphire card and for example on the Sapphire Preferred you are guaranteed a 1.87X return using the portal on those 1.5X purchases and potentially much more if you transfer those points to hotels or airlines.

You know I love the PayPal Mastercard and The PenFed Power Cash Rewards cards. They surely are not talked about enough on youtube, especially the PayPal Mastercard. I was just making a whats in my wallet video and included the FNBO Evergreen, another 2% card that doesnt get enough airplay.... Good stuff Spencer
@Shawn Shawn, I've actually been eyeing that one. Anything to save on gas at this point! As much as gas cost, I'd rather have Cashback then points right now
Yes sir Sledge! I had to include at least one credit union card here. I wasn't aware about the FNBO card but now that a couple folks have mentioned it, it seems like a solid option too!
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial the good thing about the FNBO Evergreen card is that it's like the Apple card. They tell you your pre-approved limit before you accept the offer
I think the fidelity 2% credit card is similar to the BOA one, in the sense that if you have enough assets with them, this card can give 2.25%, 2.5% and even 3% cash back on all purchases. Having said that the amount of funds you need with Fidelity is obnoxiously high.. way above the BOA requirements for their platinum rewards thingy. So can't imagine a lot of people would be able to qualify for the 3%.
I believe you're right about that Daniel. Great point! BofA has a pretty great loyalty program all things considered, but it's good to keep in mind others depending on how much you have in assets.
Honestly the US Bank AR is nearly a catch all with that 3x on mobile wallet purchases! It’s pretty insane. It can give you 3x back on a hell of a lot of things. I have the WF Active Cash. But I am planning on getting the US Bank AR at some point or completely replacing the active cash with a venture x
I did actually! I got a new light to record with and have had some help on the editing lately and I'm liking where the content is trending. I really appreciate you noticing that! And thank you for the kind words about it. It means a lot!
I was approved for my 2nd catch all card on June 10 about 2 days ago. I picked the Cap1 QS with excellent credit since I'm at 808 score. Last time I applied for a credit card was on March 7, 2021 for the CSP to finish out my Chase Trifecta with the CFF and CFU and my other non chase card is a Discover IT which was my first credit card I got in March 2012. I picked the C1 QS because of NO FTF and NO AF but plan to use it as a backup Visa or Mastercard if I'm having trouble with Chase. I was approved for 7K limit on QS and was surprised. Lol. Have a great week Spencer!
Thank you for including Bank of America cards! They’re not for everyone for sure, but they’re so powerful if used the right way 👍! Great compilation of catch-all cards Spencer!
Honorable mentions: Discover It (first year at least) - 1% back but matched with 1% at end of year and bonus of the 5% rotating categories. Was just on Discover site as was curious what else they have. They have another card that earns 1.5% back that is matched making it effectively 3% on anything...labeled as their travel card but you can redeem for travel or for cash. Might pick it up. Also have a gas and restaurant card that gives 2% back on those categories only and 1% on everything else with 1st year match as well. $1k cap on gas/restaurant card but no cap on the travel card. Think I might be adding it to the stack at some point.
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial Do you know if you can get a 2nd Discover It card? That is also kind of tempting if possible to get 10x on things first year and 5x in future years is better than 3x but a catch all for categories not selected as 5x categories fills a void. I know they only let you have 2 Discover cards at a time in total.
@@412foto I'm not 100% certain, but I've read you can get 2 of the same Discover cards, so hopefully that's accurate. Could be a solid move. You could always do the Discover it cash back and Discover it miles if not
Great video! Thank you for the thorough breakdown! One catch all card not mentioned that I love, that has an annual fee is the Navy Federal Credit Union Flagship card! It has a $49 annual fee but comes with a free Global Entry/TSA Precheck membership for 1 person every 4 years, which is a value of $100. Year 1 comes with a free year of Amazon Prime which is valued at $139.00! I’ve actually been granted the free year of Prime twice. I got it in year 1 and then again this year which is my 3rd year with the card. Also the current welcome offer is $400 for spending $4000 in the first 90 days of owning the card. Also the Flagship earns 3% back on travel and 2% on everything else. The card has the potential to grow to a maximum credit limit of $80,000. Also Navy Federal is known for giving huge starting limits, in addition to soft pull credit limit increases of up to $8000 every 6 months. Makes it easy to grow your card(s) issued by them.
Thanks man! I'm happy you found it valuable. That is an excellent card to mention. I tried to bring in at least one credit union card here, but I've heard excellent things about the Flagship card, particularly from Sledge haha. Thanks for educating everyone on that because it really is a great card! Especially with that free Amazon Prime 👀
I would add the Amex Hilton Surpass and Hilton Business and the Chase World of Hyatt as good catch all cards, too, provided your 'everything else' spend is $15,000 (no less, and maybe just a little more), because you get free night certificates at that $15,000 in annual spend. Depending on how the certificates are used, these can be the best return on spend cards for the 'everything else' category. As an example, if you redeem a Hilton certificate for a $750 night in a hotel, and that would be 5% R.O.S. plus the points you earn along the way.
That's a solid point! You can always use other cards than a dedicated catch-all card depending on your spending habits, so thanks for bringing that up. I'm not someone who wants to spend that much to get a free night and would rather always be putting spend towards a SUB, but that's a perfectly reasonable strategy to implement.
What about Synchrony Premier? It’s also a 2% flat card with 0AF. Fidelity too but it’s a Visa. ❤ Edit: Nvm you brought up Fidelity. Nice 😀 Edit 2: you should mention that. Capital One has multiple versions of the Quicksilver and SavorOne card, and BofA has multiple co-branded Customized Cash Reward cards too! ❤️
I know this is an old video but a recent change to fidelity visa made it the best catch all in my mind. They now do not charge foreign transaction fee. Plus they have been giving a 10% bump to the cash back after you do a min spend for the quarter. The min spend changes quarterly. but i have had it as low as $500 to up to $2300. So, example, all spend after $500 for the quarter is bumped 10% above base cashback. There is a cap to it but I’ll take that anyday for a catch all. Especially if you spend a lot of time overseas. Double especially if you qualify for the higher 2.25 - 3% base cashback.
Hey Spencer, would u consider the Discover IT Miles card a catch all credit card? I know it wasn't included in this list. Just wondering.. The card is 1.5x unlimited miles on every purchase. Thanks for responses!
I love my Venture X because it doubles as a premium travel card and a catch all, the other cards I have is the freedom unlimited which I use now mainly for drugstores and restaurant(used to be my catch all) , amex blue cash preferred use it for groceries and gas, and the Amazon prime card which I use for Amazon prime things. I like having as few cards as possible to get the most bang for my buck, nice long informative video btw, and also happy birthday Oden
You've got a solid setup for sure! I think simple setups can be underrated so I like to see people implementing that. I'm too much of a collector to do so lol. Odin and I both say thanks btw!!
My current catch-all card is the Freedom Unlimited. I was thinking of starting the Citi trifecta with the Premier and then picking up the Double Cash as my new catch-all but I've been reading that Citi like to start with low credit limits. I'd hate to get approved for the Premier and then not be able to make a big single spend (property tax) for the SUB. I'm now re-thinking the Capital One Venture or X.
I'd recommend the same thing as Shawn. If you want to get started in Citi's ecosystem, maybe start with the DC instead of jumping straight to the Premier. I also have made a vid about getting a CLI on my Custom Cash and that's pretty easy to do with them if you need to.
@Shawn Nope. I want the Premier SUB. This isn't happening until October when my property tax is due anyway. A lot can happen between now and then - like a new card debut
Great video! Looks like it was a lot of work to do it so appreciate all the work you do to get us this kind of info. The only card I can think since I got an offer for it that wasn’t included was the synchrony premier world Mastercard that earns 2% on everything. I got an offer in the mail for $100 after spending $1000 in 90 days. Not sure how much the points are actually worth and if the card is that great or not really, but one I thought about after watching it.
Thanks so much! I have heard of that card before now that you mention it. If it comes with a welcome offer and is a straight 2% cash back card, that sounds like a really solid option too! Thanks for mentioning that one!
I believe there is no public welcome offer for it, only ones that come in the mail so far that I’ve seen so it isn’t the best if you don’t get that sign up bonus, but could be good. Just thought of it as I watched your video but isn’t one that I would recommend over the ones you showed. Just one that could be part of the list.
My plan for my friend was to get these cards: 1. Cap.1 Platinum for rebuilding. 2. Discover It Unsecured with 5% back on rotation categories & 1% everywhere else. 3. Chase Freedom Flex for the same thing as number 2. 4. Cap.1 Quick Silver for 1.5% back for his catch all card. 5. TD Double Up card since he’s had a TD bank account since I was a kid. What do you think of this setup for my friend to have? Is this the best or do you got any other advice????
Skip the TD. You don’t need so many basic cards. QS was my first with no history. Try pre approvals tools. Go for Chase Flex, QS or Discover IT. After that just prioritize an ecosystem and stick to it. Discover even has secured options too if you don’t qualify for normal ones. Easy to rebuild and graduate to better cards.
I tend to agree with the comments left below. I personally wouldn't have him get multiple catch-all cards in his first 5. If he's starting with the Cap1 Platinum, he could always product change that to the Quicksilver down the line rather than taking up another 5/24 slot for it. That could serve as his catch-all technically... Then the Discover it and CFF are great cards for those 5x categories and are solid recommendations. Then he'd only be at 3 cards rather than 5 and could either add more Chase cards under 5/24 or start to figure out his path more after that. Those are my initial thoughts at least.
I feel special because I got the Fidelity card when I got a targeted offer in the mail for a $200 sign up bonus after spending $1000 in the first 3 months
That’s great man! Congrats on that! I got a mailer for the card recently too but it hasn’t been the right time for me to get it yet. Maybe when I’m on team cash back down the line!
Discover it Miles card is definitely not talked about enough. Same first year match from Discover, so 3x in the first year. It is officially a travel card, but the 1cpp cashback redemption is just as easy as with the regular Discover it cashback card.
Great, comprehensive video! Remember, the BBP, when combined with the Schwab platinum earns you 1.1 cents per point. Probably a better footnote for the trifecta.
That's a great point! If you build out an Amex trifecta, you could definitely get some added perks in cash back form with the CS Schwab. Thanks for reminding us!
I ❤❤❤ this vid. I have some repetitive cards, but I dont mind it. The catch all cards I have is WF’s Active Cash, Sofi MC, Amex’s BBC & BBP, Alliant Platinum Rewards, Apple Card, PenFed Power Cash and FNBO Evergreen. Love my cards :) And of course some of them are in my Apple Wallet.
I love to hear that! I don't think there's anything wrong with overlapping cards, especially if they have no AF. You've got quite the setup and I bet they look great in that Apple wallet! And I'm sorry to hear about the PayPal MC... at least you have some good backups!
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial - Thanks, Spencer. Synchrony closed 5 of 6 of the cards I had, to spite them I closed the 6th one cuz I didnt wanna deal with them and their bs. But the funny thing is that even those I lost those cards, I did get new ones without hardpulls :)
I’m sort of confused. Let’s say I get a 0% apr card for 15 months. 10 months from now I decide to make a big purchase… does that mean I only have 5 months of 0% ? Or it starts when I purchase ?
Got the 90k Preferred bonus today at Chase in Branch. Instant approval, and I referred the banker who helped me to use my link for the venture x lol. Double whammy
Personally, FNOB card is better than Citi, you get your 2% right away, plus $200 bonus. Also, if you live in a modern area, the Apple Card is a must. Unless, you don't have an iPhone, then useles
It all depends on who you like the most! However, getting a bonus on all of your cards is definitely something I recommend and that's why I don't speak super highly of the Citi Double Cash. Great points!
I’ve got a few of these and use them at different times for different reasons. I have a AMEX and Chase quadfecta so I usually go with the BBP for the catch all card of choice but when their are Chase offers that I can use I’ll whip out the Freedom Unlimited. I use my Apple Card at times as well but oddly enough I use it more for the 1% when using the physical card since I tend to use it the most when I’m overseas since I don’t have a 2x or 2% card without a international fee.
Hey Spencer I know that this card may have some requirements that limits some people but for Amex Membership Rewards Navy Federal Credit Union has an interesting Amex card worth considering in my opinion.
It’s a great topic to cover and I may do so one day. I know Ben just made a video that covered the updates pretty quick which was good to watch, but good idea!
I feel attacked with your Apple comments 😂😂 #TeamApple. Overall great credit cards in this video, my favorites come from Chase of course. Oh, and happy birthday Odin (oden?)…..I guess it’s happy belated birthday now 😅.
Haha it's not a bad product, but the restrictions of having to use Apple Pay make it a bit of a tougher sell. I still like it for the most part! And Odin says thank you! He's feeling all the love today haha.
My own setup is: 1. Discover It cash back. 2. Cap.1 QS ( for a catch all card ! ) 3. PayPal MC ( for all PayPal purchases ) 4. BofA UCR ( for the bonus plus with Zelle transfers to friends and etc involved with BofA ) 5. BofA CCR ( same as for number 4 ) And lastly.. 6. Cap.1 SavorOne for Excellent credit. ( with $200 signup bonus & for all dining! )
That's really solid!! It seems like you're on the straight cash back route which is nice and easy! I'd just keep building it out to cover more of your general spend categories like dining, groceries, gas, etc. so you know you're earning high on all of your spend. The Savor One helps with that for sure.
The best catch all combo imo is the blue business plus as a USA only catch all card and the alliant visa signature (2.5%) on all purchases for all places Amex isn’t accepted or when you’re abroad. I product changed my CFU to another CF flex. I don’t see what the point of the CFU is if you have the BBP, since they both have foreign transaction fees.
That'd be a dangerous setup for sure. I'd argue now that if you have a card like the VX that you can take overseas, that'd be more valuable that the Alliant visa signature depending on how you use the points, but for a no annual fee combo with some cash back mixed in, you bring up a good point. As for the PC to the CFF from the CFU, I like to have access to a catch-all card in both ecosystems since sometimes I want to accumulate more points with a specific lender, however, you're technically right. I don't need multiple CFFs personally, so having the CFU as my Chase catch-all card with no annual fee isn't hurting me.
I’m already a little ways into credit cards with an IHG premier (I travel a decent amount for work), citi premier, CSP, and amazon prime card. How important do you think a catch all card is versus just looking for bonuses or keeper cards for specific travel? For example we’re going to Rome next year and the IHG card is gonna cover 8 nights at the crowne plaza just with the sign up bonus, but I still need to figure out the flights.
Great question! I think it's always important to have a card you use for non-category spend unless you're literally always spending towards a SUB. Whenever I do so, I put ALL of my spend on that one card until I hit the bonus, but in between card applications it's always nice to have a card that'll give me elevated earnings on my misc spend. It all depends on your spending habits and goals in the credit card game, but that'd be my recommendation. It's more of a peace of mind thing.
Hey Spencer.. my friend has been rebuilding his credit with Cap.1 Platinum but gets no rewards from it with only a $300 limit. He has a 700+ score and has a TD bank ATM account for all his life and I was wondering IF he should get the TD Double Up card and if he would have a higher chance of getting it due to having a ATM account for along time?! Thank you for the video too Spencer! Edit: Should I have him get the CFF instead? I think he should also be in the Chase Ecosystem but I don’t think they have a pre approval tool..
Great question! As for the TD card, I think he'd have a higher chance of being approved with that relationship he's had with them. I'll give the rest of my thoughts on your other comment!
That's another option for sure! That one flies under the radar a lot since it's cash back isn't quite as competitive at 1.5% with no room for upside, but it isn't bad by any means!
Thanks so much! I do truly love MaxRewards. Luckily they just introduced a new connector with Chase. I know they had problems with that for a bit (and still do with Citi from my experience) but they constantly work to improve things and I'm a big fan.
It gives you 2% back, but I was just stating that the redemption rate was 1 cent per point since you’re getting it in cash back form. That just means that you’re getting exactly 2% on every purchase but there’s no real way to increase that redemption rate like you can on the BBP.
Well it’s a great catch-all card too! Much better than the BBP technically if you’re on team cash back. But yes, SUBs can make a lot of cards worth it for that reason alone.
Why is no one mentioning citizens cash back card? It’s gives 1.8% cash back with no foreign transaction fee. And right now it is offering 10% cash for the first 9 months of all purchase
That's one I haven't heard of and falls in that camp of cards with local banks that not everyone is aware of so thank you for sharing it! I didn't see the offer of 10% back on all your purchases for the first 9 months, rather a $150 welcome bonus after spending $500 which is still solid! Maybe the offer you're mentioning is targeted though. Thanks again for sharing it!
Pull 100k minimum, change retirement accounts, so that you can get credit card points……😂😂😂 America. There’s a reason they call them points instead of cents. Because common sense would tell you it’s not worth your time.
Personally, I have more of a "all or nothing" approach: either I get 10+ percent cashback on my purchase, or I don't care. This pretty much means the only "cashbacks" I care about are sign-up bonuses, since only they can get you into that range. I think if any of us do the math, it becomes clear that getting some 3-5 percent back really doesn't matter. The cashback only "matters" once you get into the 10+ range.
I think that's fair, however, why not still go for extra earnings on all of your spend if you can? No matter what, spending towards a SUB is gonna provide the highest return, but I don't see why you wouldn't still optimize your spend outside of the times you're spending towards a bonus. Especially if you can turn that 2x back into 10x back with the right travel partners.
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial I agreed that "a penny saved is a penny earned" and there are merits in maximizing the cashbacks you can get. But personally, I just think that since most of these catch-all cards only offers around 2%/2X cashback when *most* credit cards already offer 1%/1X back, it just makes it not worth the effort (mostly hard inquiry and sacrificing 5/24). And besides, I don't really think you need a "catch-all" if you already have 2-3 cards that covers the 4-5 areas that I think makes up 80%+ of most people's spending: Amazon, Food & Groceries, and travels and rent. Which means just having an Amex Gold already eliminates the need for catch-all (in my eyes) since you've covered probably 50%+ of your spending.
I vacillate my catch all spend between these from favorite to least: Paypal World Mastercard FNBO Evergreen Business card Chase Ink Unlimited Discover Miles Capital 1 Quicksilver
Well it all depends on what travel partners you like the most. Personally I like Chase for my Hyatt bookings and I put their point ecosystem at #1. Amex is #2 with Hilton being the main partner I use, and then Capital One's miles can be used with good airline travel partners mostly who you may value highly. It all depends on your preferences really.
Hey Spencer, wondering if you could help me figure out which card I should get based on my situation? do you have an email address i could send you my details on? little tricky because of the chase 5/24 rule but I think you have some insight that would help a lot! Thanks
That's an interesting one I haven't heard of either! I guess you could always implement the CS Platinum card with the BBP to get 2.2x back on every purchase into a CS account, but that requires a luxury travel card so the one you mentioned is a simpler way to get most of the way there.

Congrats on the new card!! It's always such a good feeling to get that approval so I'm super stoked for you! I hope you have a great week as well.
You do get 3% cash back with the physical Apple Card when shopping in an Apple Store, just to clarify.
Love the longer informative video! Catch all cards are important for everyone, especially for people who are only gonna use a couple of cards!
Thanks Manny! Trying to build out a solid ever green playlist at the moment, so hopefully these vids are valuable!
Ton of content here. Well done.
Thanks so much Scott!
I'm a fan of the PayPal card because in addition to the typical 2%, you have the ability to get 3% when using PayPal
Exactly right! I had to mention it here as it's arguably the best cash back catch-all card on the market.
Thank you for including Bank of America cards! They’re not for everyone for sure, but they’re so powerful if used the right way 👍! Great compilation of catch-all cards Spencer!
Of course! I was thinking of you the whole time lol. Thanks for the kind words man!
I like the new lighting setup Spencer. I see you putting in the work recently 👀! Keep going man, nice video.
Thanks Jake! I appreciate you noticing. I did just get a new light and I'm loving it so far! Thanks for your support as always.
That's a great point! Kinda similar to the Sofi card in the first year. Getting 3x on everything for at least a little while is really nice!
You could always do the Discover it cash back and Discover it miles if not
You can also add the Discover It Miles on your list
Venture X works well for me. Thanks for the info + video!
Same here!! Thank you for being here as always man!
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial you’re welcome!😃
Wow, very comprehensive video. That must have taken you a long time to research. Thanks!
I really appreciate that! I'm glad you found it to be valuable, and thanks for your support Mark!
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial yes. I'm farming to get back under 5/24 and I have two kids so we spend but not for sign up bonuses for a few more months.
@@RobWingader That makes sense!! I think that's a solid plan then. Keep up the good work!
Not sure if I commented or not previously on this video before today but giving you the thumbs up now. 👍
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support as always!
Insightful content 👌
I really appreciate you!
22 cards in one video....ok overachiever! LOL. Lot of work went into this obviously. Well done.
Haha I do what I can 🤣 Thanks for the kind words Scott!
What about Synchrony Premier? It’s also a 2% flat card with 0AF. Fidelity too but it’s a Visa. ❤
Edit: Nvm you brought up Fidelity. Nice 😀
Edit 2: you should mention that. Capital One has multiple versions of the Quicksilver and SavorOne card, and BofA has multiple co-branded Customized Cash Reward cards too! ❤️
Happy Birthday Odin!!!
He appreciates that! Thanks for watching till the end Bob!
This video was great!
Can u do a video on best Cards for each spending category and a video on $0 annual fee travel cards?
Thanks so much! That's a great idea for a couple videos. I'll definitely add them to my list!
Good recommendation. Thanks Shawn!
@@MPG2014 Ah I see. Those targeted offers are great if you get them so I agree with you there. It's a valid option so I appreciate the mention of it!
I wish it was separated by category business, normal, study it up, with insurance/perks.
My plan for my friend was to get these cards:
Assuming the TD card is a 2% card, I would replace that with the savor 1 for all the 3x categories, since the cap1 QS will be the catch all card
I think these are all fair recommendations!
I'd agree. No need for multiple catch-all credit cards in the first 5 cards you start with.
There’s also the Bread card at 2%, and the Discover IT Miles card at 1.5x.
Great mentions here! Thanks for sharing man.
Discover it Miles card is definitely not talked about enough. Same first year match from Discover, so 3x in the first year. It is officially a travel card, but the 1cpp cashback redemption is just as easy as with the regular Discover it cashback card.
@@devlin76 I'm glad people brought it up for sure!
We have used the US Bank Cash Plus card for our catch-all card for years. Maybe not the perfect card, but a good one to consider!
That's an option too! Those 5x and 2x categories could help in this situation a lot.
I did have the Paypal MC, but Synchrony closed alot of my accts with them, and this card was one of them 😢
I love to hear that!
That's interesting!! I've never dealt with them before, but this is good to know. I'm glad it all worked out in the end!
I’m sort of confused. Let’s say I get a 0% apr card for 15 months. 10 months from now I decide to make a big purchase… does that mean I only have 5 months of 0% ? Or it starts when I purchase ?
The former!
Got the 90k Preferred bonus today at Chase in Branch. Instant approval, and I referred the banker who helped me to use my link for the venture x lol. Double whammy
Let's go!! That's a massively profitable day haha. Congrats!
I think that's a great strategy! There's no harm in having multiple catch-all cards, especially since they don't have annual fees.
Hey Spencer I know that this card may have some requirements that limits some people but for Amex Membership Rewards Navy Federal Credit Union has an interesting Amex card worth considering in my opinion.
That's a great one to mention! I've heard good things about it, so thanks for bringing it up!
Can you make a video on the new LLPA changes that are being put in place?? Majorly affects people with high credit scores!!
Great video Spencer! My first catch-all card was the C1 Quicksilver, because I wanted the added perk of no FTF. Now I mostly use the WF Active Cash.
Thanks so much! I think that's a very normal route people take which isn't a bad one, especially since the QS has no annual fee.
My own setup is:
1. Discover It cash back.
2. Cap.1 QS ( for a catch all card ! )
3. PayPal MC ( for all PayPal purchases )
4. BofA UCR ( for the bonus plus with Zelle transfers to friends and etc involved with BofA )
5. BofA CCR ( same as for number 4 )
And lastly..
You were right, I did like this video haha. PayPal for the win!! 💳🤩
Hahah I love to hear it! The PayPal MC is arguably the best cash back catch-all credit card out there, so I'm a fan of it.
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial thanks man, keep killing it!
@@zaalb131 Of course! I'll do my best!
Your puppy 🐶 needs his own channel happy birthday 🎉🎈🎂
Haha maybe one day!! Thanks Neno!
Fidelity Baybeeeeeeeee
You forgot to cover Amex's Cash Magnet Credit Card that earns 1.5% cashback on all purchases.
That's another option for sure! That one flies under the radar a lot since it's cash back isn't quite as competitive at 1.5% with no room for upside, but it isn't bad by any means!
Good breakdown, thanks for the video. Also I got MaxRewards and it’s pretty cool, thanks.
Thanks so much! I do truly love MaxRewards. Luckily they just introduced a new connector with Chase. I know they had problems with that for a bit (and still do with Citi from my experience) but they constantly work to improve things and I'm a big fan.
Hey Spencer did you say that the blue business cash when redeem it only gives you one cent even though it's a 2% back?
It gives you 2% back, but I was just stating that the redemption rate was 1 cent per point since you’re getting it in cash back form. That just means that you’re getting exactly 2% on every purchase but there’s no real way to increase that redemption rate like you can on the BBP.
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial I see thank you well it was good for the sign up bonus at least
Apple had $75 welcome bonus right now for inviting friends to apply for the card.
That's awesome! Is that $75 for the referrer or the one being referred?
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial when they make their first purchase in 30days. So sadly not the referrer😢
@@Creditcardnerd Oh interesting! Good to know though,
Amex is a con they dont use all USA supermarkets, walmart kroger and meijer is classed as a superstore
I shop at Meijer & at Kroger when traveling, and both get 6x back with my AmEx BCP and got 3X when I had the BCE.
👌
Thanks!
Three cards no annual fee:
Chase Freedom Unlimited 1.875% Everything, 5% Chase portal Air & Hotels (but 3%foreign transaction fees)
CapOne Savor One 3% Groceries & Dining, 5% Hotels & Cars *NO FTF's
Wells Fargo Autograph 3X everything + travel + gas + dining + cell phones, just not groceries *NO FTF's
Those are all great cards! And that trifecta on its own would be a pretty dang solid setup.
- For high spenders, those 3x+ multipliers do matter and come in handy.
You should do a video sharing your credit card strategy! How many cards do you have?
I think that's fair, however, why not still go for extra earnings on all of your spend if you can? No matter what, spending towards a SUB is gonna provide the highest return, but I don't see why you wouldn't still optimize your spend outside of the times you're spending towards a bonus. Especially if you can turn that 2x back into 10x back with the right travel partners.
Agreed!
First 👀
He's backkkk 👑
I vacillate my catch all spend between these from favorite to least:
Paypal World Mastercard
FNBO Evergreen Business card
Chase Ink Unlimited
Discover Miles
Capital 1 Quicksilver
Those are all solid options! And I think rotating between catch-all cards isn't a bad thing considering they (usually) have no annual fees.
People should have no more than 2-3 cards! Period.
So, without considering AF, what’s the best card for transferable travel points? Chase Freedom Unlimited, AmEx BBP, C1VX?
Well it all depends on what travel partners you like the most. Personally I like Chase for my Hyatt bookings and I put their point ecosystem at #1. Amex is #2 with Hilton being the main partner I use, and then Capital One's miles can be used with good airline travel partners mostly who you may value highly. It all depends on your preferences really.
Hey Spencer, wondering if you could help me figure out which card I should get based on my situation? do you have an email address i could send you my details on? little tricky because of the chase 5/24 rule but I think you have some insight that would help a lot! Thanks
I can do my best! My email is in my about page, so feel free to shoot me the details.
Charles Schwab Amex Investors card. 1.5% cash back into your Schwab brokerage account.
That's an interesting one I haven't heard of either! I guess you could always implement the CS Platinum card with the BBP to get 2.2x back on every purchase into a CS account, but that requires a luxury travel card so the one you mentioned is a simpler way to get most of the way there.
