It's amazing how pretty your scrap yarn blanket is!!!! The varied mix of colorways do not seem to match when loose, but they definitely make a super eye catching piece all crocheted up!!! Love it❤
I use crochet as a way to distract me from my constant pain brought on by back surgery it works wonders for me plus all my friends and relatives have been reaping the benefits. Other than crochet my other obsession is Cinnamon Stitches. You are the first thing I watch every morning here in Washington State. Hope you will make it here someday. I think that I went through menopause not realizing that I did. Because I'm severely anemic I thought I was just not producing enough blood for it. I did have a few hot flashes I thought it was because my boyfriend would load our fireplace with tons of wood. So I would just be sweating up a storm. I thought that's why I was sweating but I don't think that was it. I was just having hot flashes. It's funny I did not have a lot of them just a few. I think I got away with it easily.😰🤞

I can relate. I never thought my life would come to "what's the least painful way to do this" or "what can I eat that won't make me sick" But it has and I make do. I try to experiment but truly I am only able to digest like 6 things and I am constantly looking for new things to "jazz it up". But I know it could be worse cause thankfully I am still able to break down solid foods and I thank God that I can.
Someone in my family has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and I watch them and see how hard it is. I cannot relate fully but I mildly understand some of the struggles.

That picture is a 13 striped ground squirrel-not a regular squirrel. Its a ground squirrel, rather like a chipmunk.

My sister lived there for 40 years and decided to move back to Tennessee because of our Mother's advancing age, so to get back to the point, I flew to Seattle, Washington and we drove back via visiting so mant National Parks, but what I saw of Washington was beautiful. I've seen the wiggly trivet trivet before, Dana of Dana's wanderlust crochet has done a tutorial a couple times... I think it's really cool!

I made my "sisters" granddaughters mermaid tails out of homespun, it works up so fast.
Hey Jen I tried working with homespun and I struggled cause I couldn’t see my stitches I also couldn’t rip them out so not big on that type of yarn but I want to work with furred yarn more. I am working on a blanket for my cousin using mainstays chenille chunky yarn and the crochet hook calls for a 25 mm but I’m using 15mm for my blanket. It makes stitches that aren’t too tight with no gaps. I’m using the colors aqua, light pink, ivory and Corsair which is like a dark blue turquoise color. So yeah it’ll be a like a queen sized blanket so yep that’s my current project.
Hi Jen!! I know you get all kinds of advise but you're migraines and hot flashes could very well be premenopausal! The color name was Gems it just doesn't say Color Name by it. I'm also following the Jennifer Crumbley trial and feel the same way about her lawyer. I don't know how much experience she has but she doesn't seem to be very good. But who am I? Not a lawyer lol. I’ve a bunch of fans in my house also so when I’m have my own personal summer, (as I call it) I whip one out.

I still have to complete my nephew’s blanket but I’m going slowly bcuz I had surgery on my dominant hand and if I do anything heavy for too long it aggravates it so I make wash/dish cloths and face scrubbies in between.

This was a nice long talk! I am late watching your video today but it was nice now because it is very quiet here. My daughter is 45(46?) and she has been going thru menopause for the last two years. I went into menopause when I was 40 and it stopped when I was 42 (they symptoms anyway). 😁 I was diagnosed pre-diabetic and my doctor put me on a second blood pressure medicine and a high cholesterol pill. Yuck! So I am not as strong as you, lol. I have been slowly cutting sugar out of my diet anyway, but I went from cows milk to almond milk which is not bad and it has more calcium. I really can't afford all the different foods though. I got low carb tortillas and some with basil and tomatoes. My biggest hurdle is cheese I LOVE CHEESE!!! lol You got a lot done with decorating!! That is awesome! I love your scrap blanket and the one your are making for Mr Cinnamon. 🥰 That wash cloth is so pretty and I like the squiggly pot holder you got. I saw something like that or maybe it is it on Alison Russels Crochet Channel. It is on her intro so I am sure she has a tutorial somewhere there lol I always thought that it would make a great bathroom rug. Good luck with that!! Oh I most certainly talk to you lovely lady! You're kind of the only human interaction I get outside of my final week of class lectures in an online tech school (not real college) and boy can I relate to the hot flashes which I'm soooo grateful for you being so open, vulnerable, and candid, it's helped me see my body differently, and possibly be concerned I'm diabetic hah, but I'm happy for more knowledge, outlooks and perspective... but most of all I'm loving the real clucky conversation.
I totally feel ya, Same stuff I am going trough but think GOODNESS the hot flashes have stopped but I noticed when I need just a piece of dark chocolate I get a hot flash & sometimes I will drink apple cider vinegar in the morning on an empty stomach it totally kills that craving for me, I just learned that 1 helps sooooooooooo much... Trying to be good eating right is hard & you are doing so awesome & your kids will love you for it cause you will get to go more places with them cause you feel better... Love your videos & thank you for taking us on your Yarn Shenanigans, I love them...💝😍

I saw the colorway as Gemms. Why can’t all labels be created equal? Ugh! Squirrels are so much fun to watch. I have three that live in a big pine tree close to my patio. Every morning when I open the blinds, they come running! Oh course I feed them. My cat also enjoys watching them through the glass doors. These are cute grey with the fluffy tails. It’s funny that these guys are the same color, size, ears, tail, as the ones I grew up with in Ohio. I now live in WA state. I’ve never seen those wild scary ones you showed today. We should definitely talk more about what happens with our bodies! We go through so much in different stages, even with "healthy" bodies. I went through my 20s thinking I was an alien because I didn't understand what was happening to me until I finally started asking others if I should be concerned and found out most of it was normal. I'm with you, I prepare my children so they don't freak out like I did.

OMG I have been waiting three weeks for my Trinity because my insurance won’t give it to me without a doctors order and then they have to send all my information of why I need this and then my insurance will decide whether I get it. Hello Cairo hello Cairo I’m diabetic, I’m not trying to lose weight. I’d like to have my medication. I’m so fed up with my Insurance I could just puke.
I crochet pretty fast as well. I can make 2-3 blankets in a week. I also have made 3 large shawls in the same week. I crochet all the time and never know what the next project will be. I use some patterns, but most of the time, I crochet freestyle using an average of 1500 - 2000 yards in a project.
I completely respect your desire to avoid pain meds. Migraine specific meds might still benefit you. They are not pain meds. They actually work to stop the migraine. I don't take them often, but when the migraines were 4-5 days/week they were just consuming too much of my life and something had to give. They were a godsend for me.
I've seen a tutorial for wriggly crochet on Alison Russell channel.
I was thinking of making a dog bed/blanket out of this technique. It seems like it would be extra cushy 😊
I went through the same thing with my C-section! I have addiction in my family and I was terrified to take anything. I refused all pain meds after my C-section. And the nurse kept trying to get me to take Oxycodone. I told her to stop! She said “you’re going to need this to get up and shower”. I said watch me and I got up and showered with no pain meds! Stand up for yourself!
Diabetes is an ugly beast. You are correct, the heat feeling can be sugar withdrawal! I have the same problem if I over do the sugar. I understand you totally about the never taking the first narcotic. I come from a long line of severe alcoholics. I decided at about 21, after my first hang over to never take the drink again. Your Loops and Threads yarn color is Gems and yes I shouted it out. I totally understand your not wanting narcotics. I'm the some way. I had 2 Csections and would only take Tylenol for the pain. Now I have Osteoarthritis that hurts like heck most days but I will not take narcotics. The only time I'll have taken narcotics was when I was having a heart attack!

You were talking about getting so hot. I have a fan on me just about all the time. I boughtvax12" fan at Walmart, it's battery or plug in and I move it around every where I go. Just an idea and it could be off camera and you will be comfortable
That is a chipmunk not a squirrel. Squirrels in Wisconsin do not have stripes.
I have dermatitis on my hands and scalp, ive had it over 40yrs since I ran a hotel. Some yarns dry my skin so bad they blister. I put cream on my hands and let it work into my skin, then I can handle those yarns, after 30 mins or so I re apply the cream and it really works. I dont know if you've tried it or not. The cream is diprobase here in the UK. Its worth a try. If I didnt use the cream my hands split and bread a lot and I end up in bandages. As for your migraine, working with that light in front of you is making it worse. I use 4head its like a solid lippy, but don't go near your eyes or mouth. I rub it on my forehead and the back of my ears and the nape of my neck then I lay in a darkened room with a cold flannel over your eyes. Within 30 to 50 mins its gone completely.

When u pulled out that fan … lol. Im not sure I have ever related more. I went into full menopause last year and the hot flashes r the worst. Im not trying to diagnose u in any way like some do in comments. But I also feel a bit nauseous when Im that hot 🥵 I bought these mini usb fans from Amazon for almost every room in my house that I go into. They work great, they r pretty quiet and they dont break the bank. Highly recommend. I so enjoy jus sitting and crocheting while i catch up w u. And ur right I talk to u and was just as frustrated looking for the color name 😂. It should not be that hard. Excited for premier week. Hope u have a great week and feel better soon.

It's a type of ground squirrel. They are found in several states. There are also other types of ground squirrels. Prarie dogs also carry plague in several states. Just don't walk close to their towns. When I have what you're describing I need to eat more protein. Cheese, eggs, meats that you can eat.
Do a girls' weekend every year in Wisconsin and always stop at a cheese factory in Rudolph.

I remember in the dead of winter I was staying with a friend in northern Wisconsin. I was drinking my coffee looking outbthe window and i thought it was a cat but my boyfriend said it was a squirrel. It had long hair and a huge tail completely in black. It was gorgeous.

I can totally relate to so many things. I found that using a 'leave in" conditioner, but only certain ones stopped my allergic reaction on my back, after years of being so itchy and thinking it was just normal acne. Nope, total allergy. The conditioner that I found works best and doesn't react for me, your mileage may vary, is Renpure Coconut Whipped Cream Leave-in Conditioner.
BTW, I totally crochet, knit, and craft my way through ADHD and anxiety. Nothing wrong with that. Take care.

I'm from Texas but live in Michigan now. The first time I saw a black squirrel it blew my mind. I thought i was just seeing a moving shadow. Lol
